I shop/consign here quite often and always want to hurry my visits along because the staff seems to have such a mean girl vibe every time. My last visit the employees stayed behind the register loudly gossiping - talking about coworkers, their hours and pay, etc. This really rubbed me the wrong way. Consignment practices are questionable too- never quite sure what their reasoning is on what they take and don't take. I've been to their other location too and somehow the experience is always the same- staff loudly gossiping the whole time you're trying to shop, and having an attitude when you give them items to go through.

I enjoyed my *second* visit to this Old Town location of the local consignment chain, Current Boutique. Although I've been to the various other DC, VA, and the former MD location many times, this was my first time shopping in the Alexandria store in a long, long time! Immediately I can say that the staff at this store are so much nicer and more pleasant than the staff in all the other stores. These folks were welcoming, helpful (such as when I needed to get a dress of the mannequin), and patient (even when I decided to try on like 50 items that kept me in the fitting room until near closing time!). Even though most of what I tried on did not work for me, I thought the selection at this store was decent (and in some ways better than what's found at certain sister locations). All in all, I will definitely keep this place on my short list of stores to help me curate an amazing wardrobe at a fraction of the price!

Don't waste your time shopping or trying to sell here, they don't take anything and everything is overpriced for used stuff. Leaving 2 stars because u can get lucky but honestly, unless your style is 2016 preppy lily pulitzer, it's a waste of your time.

Pilling, shrunken rayon fabric items from urban outfitters, loft and j.crew factory. Very rarely will they accept your donations that are in better condition and same brands or better perhaps employees are likely filling stores with their own leftovers.

Actually kind of insane to call yourself “current” boutique and not stock anything above a large. I was honestly shocked because I know even Lilly Pulitzer goes up to an xxl. Really did not feel welcome in this store at all

There is literally no better place to consign and thrift than current boutique! As a consigner and a shopper, I have had amazing customer service, along with always finding great finds from the rack. The store manager is incredibly friendly and makes the selling process easy, and the the staff are always helpful and give great feedback whenever I ask for opinions. The store is also very clean, tidy, and doesn’t smell like a thrift store (ifkyk). 20/10 recommend current for anyone looking to get fair prices for your wardrobe or looking to purchase any second hand items!

I love Current! Have been shopping here for nearly a decade and nearly always come out of the store with a purchase I love and wear for years. I’ve tried to commit to secondhand/consignment clothing as one small way to reduce my fashion consumption, and this is a great way to do it.

What happened to this place? I used to live close by and was both a buyer and consigner. I still have a few fab pieces that were great finds and priced incredibly well from 4 or 5 years ago. There was always a great combo of average & staple brands (your J Crew, Loft, Banana pieces) and some high end brands and above all, the staff were always friendly. I was always told why certain consign pieces weren't taken or encouraged to bring certain ones back when the next season came. I had moved away and moved back just recently. I don't know if management has changed or what, but I am so disappointed with what this shop has become. I gave it a few chances because of course consignment can be a bit hit or miss. But, the prices have gotten ridiculous, even when compared to other similar consignments. It appears they're trying to force themselves into a somewhat higher end market and aren't accepting many of the brands/items they used to. When I attempted a drop off, not only was absolutely nothing taken either time (again, I get it and know there are times when that will happen, but the selection was quality and was floored not a piece either time was taken), I was simply told "We're not taking any of that." No thank you, no reasons, nothing. I've been in three or four times now and the staff have been beyond dismissive and rude for the most part. I also witnessed a few times staff putting items back on racks in vicinity of browsing folks and hardly ever was there a pleasant hello or excuse me. I love the idea of consignment and have since moved onto another place that reminds me of what Current Boutique used to be. Still, I wish the place right in walking distance in my neighborhood took a look at how things used to be run. Please invest in some customer service training for your staff.

Love to browse here, I stop by whenever I am in the neighborhood. Inventory is constantly changing. I like their bag and shoe selection. The clothes are a bit trendy, but there are classic items mixed in.

I walked into this boutique as a first time customer and I did not receive a greeting but I was watched the entire time I shopped in the store. If you are black do not shop here. The associates do not speak to you, they only watch you as you shop. The associates make it clear they do not want black customers in this store, worst experience ever!

Love this boutique, that’s right, a boutique! Everything is colorized, well detailed, clean, and steamed, of which makes for a great presentation! You can always find a unique find or some great basics. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The manager Jasmine is the nicest person they’ve ever had, accommodating and very pleasant to customers and staff! I stop in about once a week, very fun place to shop and see tons of new items. The prices are very good, another reason I keep coming back. This place will be your go to place to shop!

I was looking for a good deal on resort wear and I found several, reasonably priced items at Current Boutique. I didn't find any of the problems that other reviewers cited. They had merchandise on the sidewalk and the tall, dark-haired sales associate approached me to say hello and assess my needs. She was friendly and gave good advice on navigating the layout of the store. I went inside and easily found the sections she referred me to. I found a dress, a blouse, and a pair of designer shoes at approximately 50% off. I was happy with my experience and I will be back. I would suggest that you shop during the week because Saturday was very crowded and there was a brief wait for a fitting room.

The employees were very nice, however, the Love Moschino bag I bought that was in good shape when I bought it at the store literally fell apart within days (i wore it very lightly and for a short amount of time). Within days, the casing of the bag started falling apart and the leather from the straps came off on my shoulders. Even though the bag showed SLIGHT signs of wear when I bought it, it looked very wearable when it was bought, and within 3 days it was mangled. And I do not take my bags into bad conditions, I merely wore it to the store and to dinner once, and treated it delicately. I had suspicions and took it to a friend who authenticates bags, where I was told that the bag was not authentic. I did not even know fake Love Moschino was a thing. I am aware that the store supposedly authenticates in store, but I found it very off that the bag started to disintegrate suddenly after a couple of LIGHT wears so I had to check. I was scammed. I don't know what to do. The bag was 55 which wasn't that expensive, but the store's no return policy makes it even worse because I feel trapped and 55 dollars is a lot of money to me.

A little consignment shop in Old Town with a lot of quality, name brand pieces. Ive brought nice clothes and donated a few. One downside to donating, they can't take everything, and only want name brands or quality items that dont show signs of wear and tear. You, as the donor, get a portion of the resell that can be sent to you via check or given back as store credit. I wish sellers could get a little more store credit for resell items. That would entice them to shop there more (vs taking their money elsewhere) but c'est la vie.
