This pharmacy manages to create problems and drama with every prescription I try to fill there. I have yet to have a smooth transaction with this pharmacy. They tell me, for example, that my insurance company has declined to cover my medication. When I call the insurance company, however, they tell me not only that the medication is covered, but that the pharmacy never tried to fill the prescription. Another thing that happens with regularity is their failure to properly process insurance claims. I’ve never experienced such consistently incompetent service.

A man walked here (no car) and arrived 7:57 PM. Pharmacy closes at 8 PM, and the pharmacist (Asian woman) turned him away saying it’s closed. It literally wasn’t 8 yet but she was clearly in a rush to go home despite the man asking a few times, and also expressing that he would have to walk to the next pharmacy. She ignored him and referred him to the 24 hour pharmacy which is a 5-minute drive away.

Pharmacy is great, but the hours listed on google are incorrect. The pharmacy opens at 9am, not 8am.

I have bad experience with this cvs with the manager ahmed I was recording with his cell phone. I treated me like I was stealing. I was following me throughout the store and because I make coupons. it's not fair for them to treat people like that the way i looks i need to talk to district manager !!!!!!

This is absolutely the worst CVS I’ve ever visited. The manager and the employees allow the cash registers to tell them how to do their jobs instead of what makes common sense. We should never allow computers, etc., to rule how we do business. The past two days I’ve visited this cvs, I got no where with coupons I had and them honoring them. They found every reason or way not to honor them even though had not expired and the intent of the coupon was clear. I left this cvs without purchasing anything and went to the cvs on Eisenhower Avenue which is the best CVS I have ever shopped at. Their manager, pharmacist, and employees have brains and they were able to honor my coupons without allowing their computers/cash registers to tell them how NOT to honor the coupons. I have been a CVS customer for over 20 years now but will never go to the Duke Street/Sweeley Avenue store in Alexandria ever again. That CVS store gives CVS a bad name. If I could give no stars I would.

This is the best pharmacy I've ever experienced. Every time I leave my doctor's office and get to the pharmacy, my prescriptions are already filled and waiting for me. If I have to drop them off in person, I only have to wait a few minutes. And every time I've asked Trinh or Anh a question about medications or ask their advice, even though are extremely busy, they have always taken the time to do so and their advice was very appreciated. Thank you!

Unfortunately my wife's insurance is partnered with CVS, or we'd use a different pharmacy. I do for any of my meds, but that's not what this is about. On my way home from work, I'm the one that has to go in and deal with what is a truly scary level of incompetence. Our newborn needs medication, which they had last night, but said they couldn't give us because the Rx needed to be broken up. I don't know what that means other than to say they weren't going to give me anything. While they had the Rx by 9AM, they didn't bother doing anything about it until 630PM when our Dr's office was closed. They said they would get it ready for us the next day. After a lot of back and forth between my wife, the Doctor, and CVS, we finally got it sorted out. That was until 7PM tonight when we received a call that they forgot to refrigerate the medicine so it had spoiled, and they didn't have anything else. Now we they are ordering more, but it won't come in until Monday at the earliest. To recap, the Doctor prescribes medication Wednesday morning, CVS doesn't do anything until Wednesday night, and now we're another 24 hours later without our sons medication.

ONLY GIVING A STAR BECAUSE I HAVE TO IN ORDER TO POST!!! CVS PHARMACY IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! SO RUDE AND INCOMPETENT AND NEVER HAD SO MANY ISSUES EVERYTIME IVE FILLED A PERSCRIPTION WITH THEM! NEVER USING THEIR PHARMACY AGAIN ESPECIALLY 3130 DUKE STREET, ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA 22314 LOCATION WHICH ON MY PRESCRIPTION LABEL AND CUSTOMER RECIEPT SAYS THE ADDRESS IS 3120 AND NOT THE CORRECT ADDRESS I FIRST STATED?!!! I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR MY PERSCRIPTION THAT IVE BEEN GETTING WITH NO ISSUES EVER AT WEGMANS OR GIANT PHARMACY AND WHENEVER AUTHORIZATION IS NEEDED THEYVE LET ME KNOW AND IT WOULD BE HANDLED. WELL NOT WITH CVS APPARENTLY AND THAN FILLING THE PERSCRIPTION WITHOUT TELLING ME THAT ITS NOT BEING COVERED??? THUS WHY I HAD TO PAY FOR IT AND COULDNT GET MY PRESCRIPTION ORDER BACK AND JUST WAIT TO GO TO MY NORMAL PHARMACY. I HAVE MEDICAID AND ANTHEM HEALTHKEEPERS PLUS ON TOP OF THAT AND FORTUNATELY COVER MY PRESCRIPTIONS IN FULL. ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS INFORM ME THAT MEDICAID JUST NEEDED AUTHORIZATION FROM DOCTORS OFFICE??? INSTEAD I GOT PUSHED TOWARDS BEING TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY NEEDS TO REIMBURSE ME WHEN IN FACT THAT CVS PHARMACY NEEDS TO!

Seriously the worst. If you look at the hours for the pharmacy online it says it closes at 10:00. I had a time sensitive prescription I needed to pick up and the male pharmacist refused to let me check out right at 9:00 because their pharmacy sign inside said it closes at 9:00. When I explained I rushed over to get there in time because online it says they close at 10:00 he then acted like he didn't understand what I was saying. I'm sure that I am not the only person that has ever run into this issue. You usually don't physically go into the store, to the back pharmacy each day to check their daily hours when unsure of closing times. It would've taken 2 minutes to scan the script and let me pay and he refused. When I have to go back AGAIN tomorrow, I will be moving my prescription elsewhere. What is noted above is not the only negative event that has occurred here. It was pretty much the straw that broke the camels back. I have come to pick up a 3 month in bulk auto-refill multiple times and have come home to open the box with no medication inside of it. Then, I have had to take time to prove to them that the box was empty when they gave it to me, and hope that I saved the receipt. They don't even double check what they are putting in that brown paper bag. I've wasted too much time going there to fix their mistakes and unsuccessfully pick up because they make up their own hours.
