Jimmy and Chad were phenomenal. I had a troublesome couch that was a pain to move out that others gave up on moving. They were awesome and quick getting it out and made my move easy

Richard and Roche did a wonderful job moving me from a storage unit into a house. They were professional, efficient, and kind. They packed the uhaul to the brim, and they took their time planning their approach. They got the job done quickly and correctly. They made the house feel like home. I hired them in late February of 2023. It was a bad experience that I will not soon forget.
They had no moving pads. I was on a deadline and tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as the day got worse and worse.
It was a 3 stop move (main house, storage bin, second house) and they only completed 2 out of 3. Even the 2 parts of the move they left several large items in garage that I asked them to take to basement.
The person they sent (Richard plus a helper) demanded I make a side deal to get the third part of move done and keep it a secret from owner because the owner abuses him. Late in the day he started ranting about Covid being fake, cancer not being real, Atlantis, and a number of conspiracies about medical treatment suppressing cures and Melatonin because he saw a book on Atlantis in my boxes.
I ended up paying DC Top Choice the full amount for move plus half more to Richard for a move he then did not start or complete that was supposed to be part of the move in the first place.
A long text chat with Mr. Robin revealed him to be dishonest, incompetent and have a dozen excuses and literally claim "moves are like baseball games, some are losses some are wins" and tell me all his financial woes and that he makes no money on jobs he sets the price for. That chat has so many bizarre unprofessional excuses and rambling by Mr. Robin and trying to blame me for a TV they broke which anyone including me could have moved without damage. They broke other things but I lost interest in documenting it for a owner that clearly would never take responsibility and have his insurance company reimburse me. And so many "woe is me" I make no money in the moving business every time I chatted by text or called him.
My wife moved 5 x the volume of what I moved with a different highly competent mover with no incident. I used her movers to finish the move DC Top Choice Movers botched on every level.
I was too busy with move and a new consulting assignment and home renovations on my new larger home to sue them out of principal though they deserved it.
This site is full of him blaming customers, and denying their legit complaints, and even saying they are liars and negative people. That tells you all you need to know - avoid DC TOP CHOICE MOVERs. Use a different one of the competent professional companies who will deliver what you paid for without the drama. I used a better company to finish the job they left 2/3 done. The other moving company did a competent job at a fair price with no drama.
I paid what DC TOP CHOICE MOVERS quoted me - his stories about not making money are just bizarre and unprofessional. I even filled the Uhaul gas tank on my dime and bought the workers a late lunch. HE SET THE PRICE OF THE MOVE NOT ME. In the four decades I have hired workers and companies, paid their rates plus any adjustments based on more work than they estimated, and give generous tips for good work. The damage, incompetence and bizarre extra demands by Richard who seemed crazy enough I paid just to get him out of home made this the move from hell. Mr Robin of course threatened to sue me for breach of contract if I left a review calling out this bad moving experience I had. Yes, he was paid in full the amount he set, and he also begged me not to sue Richard for the extra money demanded I paid in fear. Because Richard "was going to lose his kid unless he came up with money quick" so I should not "ruin his life".
Worst most unprofessional incompetent bizarre experience in my 4 decades of paying people for work. The movers and the owners do not belong in the moving business at all. DC TOP CHOICE MOVERS is not a consistently good moving company and any attempt to get them to be accountable will result in them blaming you, the Uhaul company, the movers that you should have told him to replace mid job, but NEVER just doing the job well at the rate they set with no drama.

This is a professional and well-ran company! You name it, punctuality, courteous, kind, caring, and the list goes on. When you move a lot and find guys that are as nice to your kids as they are to your boxes and you; then you struck gold! And that is what you get here!!

I recently booked with top choice. They were three days late, often unresponsive, and broke two of my coffee tables. I give them two stars rather than one because they did offer me a full refund of my deposit and agreed to take $200 off of the quoted price. I definitely would not recommend them, but they did their best to make things right in a situation where there were some logistics that were out of their control. Still, this was definitely the most stressful moving experience I've ever had. There were many things that they could have controlled but neglected. I originally booked a Wednesday special, which they agreed to do for $710 since it was near the end of the month. The tire blew out on their truck, leading to a series of issues with Uhaul including: the drivers forgetting their licenses and being unable to rent a truck, one of the drivers being in debt with uhaul and again unable to rent a truck, a mover being rear ended while on his way to uhaul the next day, the mover forgetting to bring a physical credit card to uhaul, forgetting to charge phones and schedule child care to enable responsiveness and punctuality. The owner did not go out of his way to keep in touch with us and I spent many hours feeling incredibly frustrated.

I had no idea how I was going to get my sister moved out of her apartment and moved in with me. The situation happened very quickly and I needed professionals that were on their game and boy did I get them! They were quick efficient and helpful and even followed instructions! Thanks guy for all you hard work!

I couldn’t say enough about these folks right here, and I wouldn’t recommend another moving company to anyone in DC. I scheduled them yesterday and they arrived on time and completed the job before the allotted time. They were friendly and professional, so if you’re looking to move these are your guys.

This was my first time hiring movers and I had a wonderful experience. Kyle and Jim showed up early and got straight to work. They moved everything out of my apartment and into my Uhaul right within my two hour time frame. Nothing broke on the drive to my new place and it was excellently packed. Can't recommend them enough!
