Little bit of everything here. There's a pharmacy, places to eat, barber, toy store, local bakery, and insurance. Plenty of parking but this place is popular so it does get a bit full sometimes.

Quaint spot. You'll enjoy the cute stores, Fairlington Pizza, or Ho's, or ice cream

Parking is a little tough which is really the only major flaw. Otherwise the shops are adorable and quirky - loved stopping by Rocket Fizz and seeing the selection. Pro-tip: they have vegan candy bars! As someone with an allergy these are the only ones I can have and to know they stock them is amazing!

Nothing special. Pleasant enough. I go there for the UPS store to make free Amazon returns. Parking lot pretty crowded. Thanks for reading. Be well.

One of the last few original neighborhood set of shops. Baskin-Robins on one corner for over 70 years.

FaIrlington Centre is a quiet little strip mall easily accessible from 395 and Route 7. It has a eccentric mix of stores anchored by a CVS and the Trek Alexandra Store. Parking can be had on the SW and SE sides of the mall. Parking turns over quickly so don't be discouraged by a lack of open spots. The customers of Trek come and go, so watch over there for opening spots. Crime is fairly nonexistent here most of the time.

Lots of good shops, but they took out my favorite place there, the Korean shaved cream restaurant. That is the only reason I took star off. The star would have been kept there and not been replaced by jenis it would be 5 stars.

Ramparts is the restaurant we visited. We do not recommend, period! High prices, low quality food, small portions and poor customer service. Everything our group of four tried we wound not order again. Our server was slow and forgot to follow up on not just the little things but disappeared from time to time. The restaurant was cold and not crowded. Just so you know, don't order the fish and chips, salads or pork chops. Is there anything left.... better options near by. Will not return..

In between the CVS and Baskin Robbins are a bunch of tucked away small businesses like the franchise bakery, neat toy store, and the soda/candy store. (There are a couple others, but they don't really stick out to me otherwise)

My wife and I reserved dinner for Valentine's Day recently at Ramparts and we had a great evening. This is the first time we ate at this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. It's an older restaurant with a small front lobby that virtually spills into the dining area. We ended up sitting at the bar while we waited for our table since it was away from the main door to shelter us from the noise, foot traffic and the cool draft from the door continually being opened. We had such a great time talking to the bartender that we ended up staying at the bar for our dinner. The Valentine's special meal selection was excellent (4 courses) and the spirits were equally enjoyable and reasonably priced. The wait staff was friendly, fast and courteous. The only potential dings were the small waiting area while you waited for your table and parking is a challenge. We found out that the Burke & Herbert Bank across the street allows restaurant patrons to park in their lot after regular work hours. I wished we knew that before we came. OpenTable should add this to the Ramparts' narrative on their website.

As usual, food, beverages, and service were excellent, in general, as well an overall excellent value. There was an additional “plus” this evening. One member of our party - there were two of us - is allergic to citrus fruit. In ordering a dish which included a citrus-based sauce, we asked the waiter to have the chef prepare the dish without the sauce. When the dish arrived, however, it looked like it was sitting the sauce. The waiter noted the error and asked if we would rather have the dish taken back. We indicated that it was not a matter of taste but an allergy - which we had forgotten to mention earlier. The waiter was very apologetic was sorry he hadn't realized that an allergy was involved. After finding out that the dish routinely included a citrus component, we ordered a different dish which (1) was excellent, (2) served more quickly than would have been usual, and (3) delivered by the waiter with both his apologies and a free refill of the cocktail previously served to the guest with allergies.

We first visited Ramparts in 1980 and had countless meals here for many years. We hadn't been for nearly two years, however, when we made this visit for dinner on a Friday night. Our server was very attentive, but the food was just okay. The brussel sprouts in the wrap sandwich were cold and hard: large sprouts that were cut in half, not chopped as the menu indicated. They were more than just crisp, they were very difficult to cut and to chew. The salmon salad was also satisfactory but not worthy of ordering again.

I was just so excited about to try ramparts. Arrived for a reservation for a party of 5 and they tried to seat us at a table for 4 with an extra chair at the corner of the table. Mind you I made a reservation. They told me it was made same day that why the small table. Why would you accept a reso for 5 if you didn't have room even if it's the same day? Well next I ordered a glass of wine and it had lipstick on it. I asked for a clean glass and watched to My horror the bartender pour the wine from the dirty glass to a new glass instead of pouring a new glass of wine. That was it for me, I paid for our sodas and left. So I can't give a review of the food.
