Fabulous store! Wonderful clothing, amazing jewelry and art. Amanda and her crew are some of my favorite humans! I have shopped this store for nearly 25 years. I haven’t even lived in VA since 2014 but I stop in every time we visit our family and friends.

I bought my wedding dress here (a Jessica McClintock) in 1991. Having just decided not to keep the dress any longer, I opened the storage box after all these years, and found the receipt was in the box, too. Of course I googled the shop. Imagine my surprise to find the store is still in business. Congratulations!

It's a unique little store here on the corner of Royal Royal and Cameron. It's a lot of do you have the dead type themed decor and masks and on and items. They also sell clothing, appears to be used. It's a very compact and stocked corner unit store. They have some interesting items, but my sister-in-law would probably love her. She likes do you have the done type items as well as Frida Kahlo anything.

It is unfortunate that in 2019, Black customers are profiled as potential thieves. I am disappointed to hear that my sister in law (after years of spending money in this shop) was followed and watched. While White customers were free to roam the store. The sales associate did not offer assistance and when asked, why the double standard, the associate replies, I’m just following the store policy. Not sure what the policy is, but servicing paying customers was not it.

This is a very interesting store and I really like it. It is located in Old Town Alexandria on Cameron St near the intersection of N. Royal near Gadsby's Tavern. Something that is important is that they are not open in the evenings. They close at 5pm Sunday, 7pm Thursday and every other night they close at 6 pm. This store has been in the Alexandria area for more than 40 years, it sells woman's clothing that's artistic as well as practical woman's lines such as Eileen Fisher and Flax. They have people on hand to help you find what you need and help you put together full outfits. They also sell wedding dresses for these you'll need to set up an appointment with on of their stylists. They also carry, scarves, belts, silk tops, pants skirts etc. as well as quite a larger selection of handbags and jewelry. The jewelry line is international with styles from all over the world. The brands include Hobo, Amy Kahn, The San Diego Hat Company, Zazou and many, many more. Here is my favorite part of the store, they have a huge and beautiful selection of Latin American Folk-art and nativities from all over the world. The artwork is really something to see. The store has two floors packed full of nice merchandise.

Gossypia carries the best selection of Flax Englehart clothing in the DC Metro area which is the main reason I shop there. The packed boutique is full of unique and eclectic selections of gifts, accessories, jewelry, and artsy clothing. Enjoy!

I love this store! I like to collect Frida Kahlo and Our Lady of the Guadalupe handmade pieces and I love the beautiful collection they have, particularly upstairs. They also have great jewelry, clothes and fun bags and many colorful fun things. I have bought many pieces from there, including some day of the dead pieces as well, and just love this store.

I use to live in old town and visited here alot because there are such unique items in this store. The Owner is so sweet and amazing. I came back here for a quick visit and always happen to find something in her store. There is everything imaginable from different countries all over the world with hip and old fashion style. My favorite old town store. Must visit!!!!

The store is unique, authentic and funky!Beautiful selection of jewelry! They carry different, artsy brands. The staff is very friendly and helpful! On the top of that they have wedding dresses, from vintage fancy style to casual. I got mine from them and I absolutely love it! The designer is Mon Cheri by Destination. It is classy and graceful whole with lace for less than $300! And at last if you like folk art or nativities, that shop have all of it. Trully enjoed to shop here and blessed to find my dream wedding dress on such a good price! Thank you, Gossypia !

As a resident of Old Town, I always enjoy checking out our little local shops. Most of the smaller local businesses here have been nothing but nice and welcoming. However, the moment I walked into this shop the women working there were rude and clearly did not want to be bothered. The store is crammed with odds and ends- not wanting to take up the entire space, I left my stroller outside. The woman took one look at my daughter and it was clear she wanted us out of the store. I directed my daughter towards the rear of the store because the sign outside said they had folk art available upstairs. The downstairs was full of clothes and jewelry, and I was looking for a gift. The woman blocked us from the stairs and asked what we were looking for. I told her the sign mentioned some folk art and wanted to take a look. She wanted to know if I had an exact item I wanted, and gave me the impression the upstairs was closed and I'd misread the sign. I explained again I had thought there were folk art pieces upstairs. She hesitated, looked at my daughter, and stammered, "Well, yes, there are, but...I mean...don't let her near anything...if you even breathe on these items...I mean, they're that delicate." Obviously, she didn't want me shopping there with my daughter, so we left and will not return.
