They don't care about your family's safety!!!! My spouse is an active military member. He needed to drive my car from the DC to Colorado Springs. I have 2 kids and needed a rental car for 4 days so I could run errands and say goodbye to friends before getting on a flight with the kids to Colorado. Hertz was the only rental car company that had car seats so I had no choice but to use their services (I didn't want to have to lug two car seats on an airplane). We drove to the hotel in Maryland from their Alexandria location and realized the car had a flat tire. The tire wouldn't fill up higher than 13 PSI. By the time we realized it was an issue the branch was closed so I called in the morning. I tried filling up the car again and it wouldn't go further than 9 PSI. I called the company road side assistant line I literally waited for 30 minutes. When I finally reach a respondent I realized that they have hired people from a different country who's English is so bad that I had to ask them to repeat themselves about 5 times every-time they said something. They tell me to go to the nearest location and they could exchange the car. I get to the nearest location in DC and they tell me they don't have any cars to exchange for me. The lot is empty. As I'm standing at the kiosk, I see the car is beginning to leak fluids. The attendant yells at me and says there's nothing she can do and slams the window in my face. Meanwhile my kids are in the car and I'm beginning to get angry. I go to the next closest location at the DC airport. There are cars in the lot and the employee says, "'m sorry we can't exchange your car because these are for customers who have a reservation for today. I tell her I have 2 kids in the car and I'm afraid the car will breakdown if I go anywhere else. She asks her manager is she can exchange the car for me and the manager says NO!At this point I'm crying and can't believe a company would treat a family with an infant and a toddler like this. I then proceed to make my way to another Hertz. Guess what?? I make it to the highway and the car won't go into drive. Stays in neutral. Luckily I pull over to a nice part of town where there's a dog park. I didn't think to bring a phone charger because I was expecting to get a car exchanges quickly. As I'm trying to call roadside assistance, my phone battery dies and I feel absolutely hopeless. I left the hotel at 9:30 and it's now 1:30 PM. Between waiting in line and traffic it has cost me 4 hours of my day. Luckily I brought snacks for the kids because I was able to keep them satiated and calm until I could figure out what to do next. A man with his dog enter the dog park on the street I'm stranded on and I ask him, tears in my eyes, if he had a car charger I could borrow. He was an angel sent to me. No questions asked just gave me his from his car and said to keep it. I call to find an Uber before even calling roadside assistance because I just knew it would be dark outside before I got a hold of anyone in customer service. I try getting an Uber that has car seats but there weren't any available. So I had to use a regular Uber. I left the car and took the keys and one car seat with me. This meant that my toddler had to sit in the car without a car seat (thankfully the Uber driver took us anyway). I was a ball of anxiety in DC traffic and the company that made it this way doesn't even have enough staff to help. When I get to the hotel, I call them. I tell them where I left the car and they said they'd send a tow truck out to retrieve it. I got home at 4:30/5:00. I LITERALLY spent my ENTIRE day given the run around for a car that I paid for!!!!! Later that evening, the tow truck guy calls me and says he's at the location I gave the employee and says the car isn't there!!! I re-read the address with "South East" at the end of the street. They charged 2 credit card at same time with same amount and refuse to take back one charge, customer service is below average.Its 4/19/2023 and card was charged on 3/19/2023. Customer service sucks.

Lexus loaner. Had a slightly unpleasant odor that I couldn’t write place. Over all experience was uneventful and fairly efficient.

I received a Hertz rental while my Lexus was getting serviced at the dealership. The car had damage all over the exterior and the interior had not been cleaned before they rented it to me (trash under the seat, food on the floor, and mud on the baseboards). Also, the tank was only half way full when they gave it to me, and the staff were very unprofessional, goofing around with each other while I stood and waited at the desk.

Car was supplied by Lexus dealer during long service time on my car. The VW was a very ordinary car. The service at the Hertz desk was courteous and helpful.

The staff was very nice. However, the first car I was given had 41,000 miles and scratches all over. I requested another car and they gave me one that had 2,0000 miles.
