Would not recommend at all! Cost me over $5000 extra than what another tax agent had calculated, and Natividad
Daing filed it without asking me first, or if I wanted to.
Barely enough knowledge to file taxes. Will cost you extra cash. And no they were not filing anything less, had to get my taxes redone and refiled with correction, and ended up with an IRS audit, which was a headache and cost me months of my time!
Would not recommend these inexperienced amateurs!

I had a scheduled appointment at H&R Block for 3:00 PM today, 3/09/2025. Upon arriving, I was told by a woman in a yellow shirt that there would be a 10-minute wait—which I understood and had no problem with. However, what followed was completely unacceptable.
As I waited, I observed another customer walk in and receive immediate service to drop off his tax documents. Staff greeted him, asked his name, and engaged him as a valued client. I, on the other hand, was never asked for my name, never acknowledged as someone with an appointment, and was simply left waiting. It wasn’t until I approached the front desk (after the receptionist returned from lunch) that I asked if I would be serviced—only to watch her immediately greet someone else, ask for his name, and assist him as though he was the priority.
Eventually, a male associate informed me that I never had an appointment on the books. Not once did anyone ask to see my confirmation. Not once did anyone take a moment to verify my name. It was as if I didn’t exist.
I sat there until 3:38 PM—over 30 minutes past my appointment time—feeling increasingly invisible, unimportant, and humiliated. When I asked the front desk woman if I could at least speak to someone to ensure I was filing correctly before dropping off my paperwork, her response was outright hostile. Cold, dismissive, and unwilling to acknowledge even the basics of customer service, she brushed me off without regard. She didn’t even verify that she had the correct or full documents from me, which raises serious concerns about the accuracy of my return had I simply dropped off the paperwork.
Thankfully, a woman named Lisa eventually helped me and treated me with fairness and respect. She was the only person who gave me any sense of professionalism throughout this experience.
But the final insult came when Lisa kindly walked me back to the front desk to reschedule a follow-up appointment, and the front desk woman said—within earshot—“I don’t want to talk to her.” I was stunned.
To be treated this way by someone whose job it is to greet, serve, and support all clients equally is beyond unprofessional—it’s degrading. We were the same race, yet I was treated like an outcast. I don’t understand how someone like this is allowed to choose who gets basic decency and who gets treated like they don’t matter.
This experience was not only frustrating but deeply upsetting and frightening in the sense that someone in a gatekeeping role like this can make you feel so small. I left feeling humiliated and disappointed, and honestly questioning if I’ll ever trust this location with my personal information again.

Our tax rep Lisa is really pleasant in person, seems knowledgeable. We had a filing issue with the IRS for a prior year and she did call them on our behalf, which was extremely kind. She was to write a letter for us and provide the documentation needed. I never heard from her again, despite 5 phone calls and multiple emails. One woman that I spoke to on the phone even included a supervisor to escalate the request. Nothing- no response. I had to schedule another inperson meeting to get my letter, which is not what I need. This may be our final year with them.

Would NOT recommend at all! Did my taxes wrong, and asked them not to file while I checked it over and with TurboTax, but they filed it anyway, costing me an extra $4000. When I pointed it out they couldn't care less, neither did they offer to file a correction, instead asking me to come back after the season is over. And this is on a single W2, without ANY complicated taxes.
Only interested in minting a customer, but very poor accounting skills. All they offer is a clerk monkey who enters your numbers into the computer (and wrong) while charging you a premium for the service.

My first and last year with H&R Block:
- The secretary was a huge source of my frustration and a big part on why I will not return. He was clueless and actually insulted me in front of the establishment. That experience alone demonstrated the lack of professionalism H&R Block has.
- Another example for the lack of professionalism was my first tax consultant I had, rescheduled my appointment with me online (through that messenger service), asking me to come earlier - which I moved my work schedule around for, and then decided she could fit another person in and canceled the rescheduling asking me to go back to my original time. Failing to honor her original intent with me. Her message to cancel didn't reach me until I showed up for the new time and they asked me to wait around for another hour or to reschedule.
- Another example was my tax consultant was so overwhelmed with clients, she was not able to meet our scheduled day to complete my taxes and I had to wait another week before they were complete. We were scheduled to have a call the Sunday, the 14th (which she requested the week prior). We were messaging in the morning of the 14th to confirm we were going to chat later that day. She messaged me that she would call me that afternoon, then I never received a call...? I had to leave work on Monday to go into their office to find out if I was going to be able to file my taxes that day (this is the day the secretary INSULTED me in front of everyone... extremely rude and embarrassing). I had no clue the status of my return or when I would be able to submit. They told me casually "since youre getting money back, you dont need to file by today" (Which I did not know). And they said by the end of the week I would be able to file. (But originally, I was told I would be able to file by the 14th and then had to come into the office because no one was communicating to me when they would actually be done.)
- Finally, the manager gave me a $50-off my return because of the issue I had with my first tax consultant but it was not reflected in my total bill. However, my taxes were already delayed significantly because my consultant wasn't able to complete them by the 15th (as I mentioned before), and It was EXTREMELY infuriating to try and communicate through that messenger service, I just gave up and just wanted to submit, desperate to be finished with my experience with H&R Block.
There are more examples that are too much to type out. 1000000% never returning to H&R Block. How disappointing.

Just called spoke to a girl who said her name was Nila, it didn't sound like that was truthful. From the moment she answered the phone with her tone I knew the call wasn't going to go smoothly. I asked for an update on my dropped off taxes, its been 10 days, she said leave a message. I asked how long it will be until I call her a call back, she replied with an annoyed tone "I dont know. I don't know. There's only one tax person here so I don't know leave a message." I said ok. Gave her my name, she read back the number on the caller ID as a call back, I said no that's not the number I want to be called back on. She kept reading the number. Then asked again my name and how to spell it. I provided all of that again. Dead silence. I said do you need anything else, she said no then hung up. "Nila" might need to reevaluate and see if she wants to be a secretary.
Follow up- called a few hours later to follow up, Nila said she doesn't keep a record of who she speaks to so I need to provide my name and number again. I replied "that means you didn't write down my message for a call back." She replies, no. This is unacceptable. Very bad for business.

They changed and then cancelled my appointment for no known reason. No audit trail. I had to fight to get a new appointment only for the person now doing my returns trying to say the original person had to do it. When she finally agreed to do it, she tried to overcharge me. My complaints weren't taken seriously. Will not be returning to this location.

As a client for decades I'm done with a tax office that doesn't answer clients phone calls or return messages. Unprofessional at best and totally incompetent at worst.
