I’m not a clothing person. Needed a last minute outfit far from home, ran in to grab something. The gentlemen at the front immediately walked over to me, was friendly and engaging. Helped me the whole time to pick out and fit what I needed - which I really appreciated. The outfit looks great and looks great on me. Thank you for the great shopping experience.

I woke up today looking forward to shopping for a new suit or two. It had been a while since I last shopped for one. Last time I did, I had a great experience at this store. Unfortunately, on this trip none of the salespeople seemed interested in engaging with me. I observed them as other customers came in, listened to them delight in stories, ask questions, etc. I moved about, looking at options, assuring myself that someone would eventually offer assistance. After approx. 20 minutes or so, I approached the counter. A salesperson asked if I needed anything. I mentioned my interest in slim fit suits, and she pointed me to the back. That was it. I found a suit that I had a potential interest in. I walked around with it, trying to pick out a shirt. Again, I observed how well others were being attended to. After a total of between 30-40 minutes, I finally decided I would not be wasting my money in a store that simply could not be bothered. I'm glad I did, because I found two great suits and shirts at a competitor for a great deal. Jos. A Bank just lost a fan today. Do better.

This is my second time coming into this store. The first time there was a nice gentlemen that helped for a little bit, but then did not keep assisting. Luckily I brought some friends with me to help. I just went in for the second time hoping for better service. It took about 10 minutes for someone to offer help, he helped for a little and then went to help a customer check out even though there was another employee at the check out with no customer. I don't usually write reviews, but I had to do it for this place. I watched other customers being helped tremendously in a way I wish I were being assisted. Instead I was ignored and paid no attention to. They probably thought a woman my age did not seem like the type to spend money at a place like this. Unfortunately for them I was looking for a full suit and prepared to pay a good amount for the best fit. Truly unprofessional as it should not matter who the customer is, as every customer should be treated equally and offered the same assistance.

I stopped by recently to buy a suit on short notice for a photo session. Rick, a long with the younger gentleman that helped me, were both very attentive and gave me great advice. The photos turned out very well and I appreciate the time they spent with me to make sure everything fit properly and matched well. I will definitely be visiting in the future if I ever need adjustments!

My partner and I were here a few months ago and it was a bad experience. The “new manager” was rude, condescending, and screwed up the tux fitting. My partner repeatedly told the person fitting him that it didn’t fit and was told “it’s supposed to fit that way.” When we went to pick it up it was the wrong size and nothing fit. I overheard the manager tell an associate that “clients don’t know how these things should fit and we need to tell them.” We were stuck with the ill fitting tux because we had an event but we will never use them again. They didn’t even offer a discount for the screw-up.

If I could give Alice 6 stars I would. I have a wedding to go too In two days and was worried I would not find anything in time. Not only did she help me with picking out a very sharp suit jacket, but she was able to match it with pants, a dress shirt, tie and a pocket square that all fit perfectly!! Don't think I've been this excited to put on a suit before. Without her help I would've most likely been lost and unhappy with whatever I would end up purchasing. If you shop there ask for Alice! She is the best!

DO NOT RENT WEDDING TUX HERE.I want to start by saying when Cory left this store everything went down hill. My fiancé and I went to this store thinking we would receive good service because of its reputation and this was FAR from the truth. We decided on renting a Vera Wang black ultra slim tux and were fitted by Cory a former employee (who was the only person who knew what they were doing). The fitting went amazing with Cory, all the groomsmen were also fitted by him, and we thought Jos A Banks would be able to make the proper orders. Well that was nothing farther from the truth, after the tux's arrived my fiancé and I went to pick up his tux. We were greeted by a RUDE and PUSHY older woman who works at this location. She was extremely overbearing, and not one other person in the store would assist my fiancé with putting on the tux. It was terrible. On top of that there were 5 out of 10 tuxs that completely WRONG didnt fit the groomsmen to the point of RUSH ORDERING a tux for the brides brothers, grandfather, and father the night before the wedding. NOTHING fit, its almost as if they never got fitted at all!!! It was such a shame. We spent thousands of dollars at this location and every single item was wrong. I will be calling/emailing corporate about the lack of knowledge their employees have for tuxs and group ordering as well as the RUDE woman who works there. DO NOT RENT A TUX HERE IT WILL BE WRONG!!

Do NOT go here!!! If I could give it zero stars, I would. We bought a suit there for a wedding. We acknowledge it was a tight deadline, but we were assured it would be ready. It was not ready on the day promised, but they said they would have it in the morning. They did not. We called back to cancel it since they had not actually even begun altering it and would not be ready for the wedding that day. They said they would refund the card. They did not. So currently, they have charged us for a suit we do not have. We are awaiting the resolution to our credit card dispute since dealing with the store has been a complete and utter disaster.

This is my second time coming to this store. The first time that I came to the store the service was not very good. I did not receive service and left without purchasing my suit. After purchasing a suit online, I needed to return a belt and find a shirt. Morris greeted me once I came into the store and made sure I was taken care of. I even purchased an additional shirt.This is my place to go now that Morris is at this store.Ps...Morris Suggested A pocket square to finish my look!!

Have to give a shoutout to a great young sales associate David who was super helpful to me as I picked out some new work attire and to my fiancee as she browsed tux options for our upcoming wedding. He made our unscheduled walk-in shopping session a breeze, and helped us pick out some great options for both myself and the groomsmen. Got a terrific deal on buying a tux for myself to wear, and rentals for my groomsmen will run ~240 bucks inclusive of shoes, cuff links, etc. David had a great demeanor and was very professional, highly recommend!

So the good part was everybody was really nice. I won't take anything away from the people who help me. My friend was getting married and we all rented our tuxes from there. All of us got fitted for our Tuxes pretty early so we have plenty of time to get the tuxes in. All of our tuxedos came in late. There was a mix up with the ties that had to be rushed to be fixed. And 2 of the suits had to be altered. With very little time for alteration. During the wedding one of the suits had buttons fall off And broken cucufflinks AnothedAdcufflinks..break. coughlings break

I needed a shirt and I went in and Martha was very attentive and helped me go through the racks. My size wasn't available, but we were able to order it. With the Summer Sale on the price was good and I'm looking forward to receiving it shipping free. I can understand why it is difficult to keep a store like Banks totally organized all the time with limited staff.Good luck to Joseph Banks So. Washington St. Alexandria VA. A very nice part of the community.

Joseph A Bank Men's Suit and Clothing store at 728 S. Washington Street in Alexandria, VA, was always my favorite such store. I shopped there for years, and I always was very happy with my purchases of dress suits and shirts, ties, casual-plus trousers, sweaters, jackets, blue jeans, etc I bought a leather bomber jacket there that I absolutely love. I recently had to make a trip and, having gained some weight, I had to purchase a new wardrobe, at least dress shirts, ties, casual-plus trousers, a new belt, stockings, and blue jeans. Unfortunately, this was a bad experience. The salesman did a poor job in measuring me for these items. The dress shirts, trousers, casual-plus trousers, blue jeans, and belt were all much too large, although the salesman had measured me. I likely was partly at fault. We were in a hurry, because we were making rapid preparations to go out of state to a funeral and family reunion. I did not take enough time to get everything right, nor did I do the due diligence that I should have done, resulting in disaster. However, it is also true that the salesman got the measurements wrong, did not take enough time and did not do due diligence himself. If I ever return to Joseph A. Bank at 728 S. Washington Street in Alexandria, VA, I will certainly ask for another salesman. I haven't decided whether I will ever go back to this or any other Joseph A. Bank. It was all very embarrassing. At the funeral and associated social functions all my clothes were too big. I was constantly conscious of the need to make sure that my trousers did not fall down. Thank you Joseph A. Bank! Even the dress stocking were a problem. They were the right size, but were of extremely low quality, although they cost quite a lot. You live and you learn. Once burned, twice shy, as they say. I may take my shopping to another men's clothing store chain from now on. I cannot afford another expensive, embarrassing mistake of this sort. At least my trousers did not fall down, but that is because I was constantly holding them up, trying not to be too obvious about it.
