Michaels visit ended up with my crying in my car on my birthday.
I wanted to buy Prismacolor colored pens for almost a year now. I just never convinced myself such an expensive brand of pencil was worth the purchase and kept pushing it back for more practical things.
Today was my birthday. It’s my first birthday after my best friend passed away so it was a hard day to face the reality that I am getting older and my best friend will stay the same age. We loved to color together so I figured I had a bad birthday I might as well treat myself to the colored pencil set I always wanted in her memory.
I made my way to the color pencil aisle and saw that they had a lot of empty shelves with the brand and the ones that did have pencils hanging down were locked up in anti-theft gear. The empty rails had stickers saying to ask for assistance or go to the front desk for help with the product so I did just that.
I saw a woman at the first cashier and simply went up to her. “Hello, I was hoping you could help me find out if you had this product in stock?”
I have a privacy screen so I made sure to hold up the phone in a way that she could clearly see the brand name. We had a counter separating us so I didn’t think my distance from my phone to her face was in any way inappropriate.
She clearly thought so, “First get your phone out of my face.” Were her first words to me. It honestly caught me by surprise and I was too shocked to even really say anything.
I honestly should have just walked out after she said that but I stayed and tried to see if they did have my pencils.
I was still holding the phone up but at a lower position now because of her words in case she wanted to look at the name and copy it down on her work phone since it isn’t an easy brand name to sound out on words alone.
I still had to spell it out for her and she did see the brand in store just did scroll down enough to see if they had the particular set I wanted. So I looked it up myself on the Micheal’s store website and saw the product for sale on the site but I was unable to find the number she wanted me to provide.
She tried to say someone called out so she can’t leave the cashier which I completely understand. She told me if she had a number she could look it up.
So I went back to the aisle while there and honestly I didn’t see set I count I had wanted but I’m honestly glad I didn’t.
Ever since the first words out of her mouth I felt unwelcome and on the verge of tears. So I simply walked out of the store and went to go cry in my car.
I won’t be shopping here again and I hope she learns to treat customers better.

No one around for help. There was only one cashier who was tending to some that kept taking thing away trying to get to a budget. She finally asked the customer to think about and tended to 3 quick check out, she was great. But no one on the floor and of course my item (paint spray can) was behind a lock. 25 minutes from walk in to walk out.

I used to love this store. Today it was messy., limited staff, and the merchandise was sparse. Very disappointing.. The sales associate was on the phone at the register.

Easy access. Plenty of parking. Always take my kids here to harness their creativity. And usually find something for myself. Great selection for just about any craft or hobby. These new models are fantastic.

I went today and this tall black employee at the front register told me rudely that he was busy and to use the self checkout. As I was at the checkout he called a younger woman and checked her out. Literally ridiculous. Poor management I see.

It's a messy store, with bunch of unprofessional employees. I came to pick up an online order, and noticed that one of the items was slightly damaged. I told the employee that I either don't pick it up, or return it immediately. For some reason he told me right away that I will get a gift card instead of a refund. I was confused why. He was relatively rude, and still gave me a gift card. No explanation why.... The store is dirty and unwelcoming. Will not come back for sure and will not recommend it to friends.

This used to be a great in store shopping experience. I did an online order which was thankfully ready and accurate when I got there. I went in to walk around and it was a disaster zone in the yarn aisle. Many many skeins of yarn pulled apart and missing labels making it hard to shop. Every aisle with shirts in it was a disaster. There was freight staged throughout the store and no one working on any of it. I just grabbed my pickup and didn't get anything extra. (The 1 skein of yarn I got was also missing its label)

Do not do pick up orders at this location!!! I placed an order for pickup today, got an email shortly after saying my order was ready for pickup, only to get there after work and wait 30+ minutes to find out my order was nowhere to be found. Keep in mind I’ve been charged for the full order, including redeeming a rewards voucher I now have to get reissued through customer service. This is the third time I’ve ordered something from this location and it not actually be ready. There were 3 other people waiting on orders, all visibly frustrated. Someone is obviously not doing their job. I really don’t want to be a jerk about this, but everything about what happened could’ve been completely unavoided if someone just bothered to do the bare minimum of their job.
