Came to Mini of Alexandria to buy a new car, and it couldn't have been a better experience. Jose met us and showed us exactly what we were looking for. After the test drive they gave us a fair price for the Countryman and we were out the door in an hour. The manager Ahmed went to bat for us on the finance side and all parties won.A++++

I really want to say that going to Mini of Alexandria was the best experience I've ever had when purchasing a car. I must admit, I was skeptical at first. But, after getting there and working with Peter and Todd, they made everything so easy. They really looked out for me and made Christmas come early! Great customer service. Great atmosphere. It was just a great experience! I appreciate you both so much!! Thank you for everything!

On August 26, my husband and I stopped at Mini of Alexandria as we are starting the process toward a new vehicle. My husband has owned two Mini's previously - a Mini Cooper and a Mini Cooper S. Given I have not owned a Mini nor driven one, and that my husband wanted to experience a new JCW, this was intended to be a research trip for us. Upon arrival, we were greeted and asked if we could test drive a JCW model. We were handed off to an associate who informed us that Mini of Alexandria only allows test drives for people "ready to buy." The associate then went to, "discuss with a manager," and returned where he reiterated that they would not allow for a test drive unless we were prepared to buy the car. He then began to explain that the reason was to keep miles on the car low. We left mid-sentence as it was clear Mini of Alexandra was going to be unobliging. This "policy" is also inconsistent. In the winter of 2021 at the same dealership my husband (without me) test drove a Mini. At that time, our respective employers delayed our return to the office and we held off on purchasing a second car.Fast forward to both working back in the office. In the past year, we have purchased *two* new cars -- one of which was on a Saturday where, "let's take a look" turned into a purchase. That particular vehicle was sitting in a dealer show room; they had to take the car out of the building for us to test drive and accompanied us on the drive. It resulted in a sale and they took extra steps to move a car outside without us having to commit to anything upfront. At Mini of Alexandria, we weren't looking to take the car to Richmond or some extended test drive. It was, again, intended to be an opportunity for me to drive a Mini having never done so. It honestly feels like the associate did not want to be bothered to assist us and instead, found a reason to refuse us service. Given our treatment, we will go out of our way to not return.

On August 25 I scheduled routine service on my 2013 JWC Roadster August 18 for 07:30 AM. I arrived at the service center at 07:28 and was promptly helped by Carlos. I told Carlos that I had a warning indicator showing my car on a lift and that my battery warning indicator flashed. I also informed him that I needed my car by 3:00 PM. He informed me that he would be in touch if there were any issues. Around 2:00 PM I called Carlos, and he told me the technician had just put my car on the lift (7 hours after dropping it off) and he would let me know the status. Not hearing from him I started to the dealer at 3:00 PM thinking that it would be ready; while in route I received a call from Carlos letting me know that my car needed new wiper blades and a battery plus another $3,000.00 worth or repairs and that it would not be ready until the next day. I asked why if I had an appointment and dropped the car off at 7:30 in the morning it was not ready...He told me that they take those customers who are waiting for their cars first then the customers who made appointments. Why would they have you make an appointment if they were going to take those who walked in the door an opted to wait for their car jump the line?I purchased the car from this dealer in 2013 and in the 10 years I've been taking my car there for service all except once I have had nothing but crap service and excuses from them. The next closest Mini dealer is 35 miles away, once I get my car back with just the wiper blades and battery replaced, I will never, and I repeat never return to this shoddy piece of dog excrement dealership/service department again.Avoid Alexandria Mini like it is the plague.

Well run and efficient. Staff helpful, service appointment carried out and the bonus of a cleaned car.

I made an appointment for 10:45 on a Saturday to run a diagnostic and get a quote for four new tires. I drove about thirty minutes out of my way to get to a mini specific service station. When I arrived the service man asked me about twenty questions about my personal details, no doubt to send me spam for the rest of my life. After the inquisition, I was told they couldn't run the diagnostic until Monday or Tuesday at the earlier. Mind you I would be paying around $100 for them to stick a probe into the car and simply read me what the issue was. What is the point of making an appointment? This delay could have been told to me when I called earlier after I described what I was coming in for. Also, they never gave me a quote for tires, which is just money walking out their door. Clearly no regard for customer service. Highly recommend going anywhere but here.

We have been going to Mini of Alexandria for about 5 years, and we generally have been pleased with their service. But today we were especially impressed. Despite being understaffed due to a sick employee, the team was consistently friendly, helpful, and responsive. We would especially like to thank (1) Assistant Service Manager Jairo Zepeda for leading the servicing of our car and (2) his colleague (whose name we did not catch) who not only returned our Mini to us but also, without any prompting, helped us load our car with some bulky purchases. We were particularly touched by their kindness, warmth, and thoughtfulness when they were juggling a lot of customers and were short staffed. They really went above and beyond.

Honestly dread it anytime I have to come here. Last time I left my tires were inflated to 4 different numbers? Anyways my qualm with them this time is how hard it is to get a loaner car when they service your car. When they were trying to sell me the car they told me they had a bunch of loaners so when you bring your car in you can go about your day while they service your car, no problem. That's not the case at all. Last time I came in they told me my service would have to take at least 2 hours for me to get a loaner car. Today they told me 3 hours after they told me an estimate of 1 and a half to 2 hours to service my car. Side note the upgraded you buy maintenance only covers oil changes every 10k miles or 1 year. If you pay for each oil change mini recommends you change it every 5k-6.5k miles. Funny how that works. The upgraded maintenance also doesn't cover tire rotations so that's another $120.

My experience was great! The service was above and beyond. Thank you to the techs and to Chris! They were very knowledgeable and professional. I felt like I could trust this location wholeheartedly. They helped me get my car fixed and ready and now it drives much better. I'm very grateful!! Would definitely recommend taking your vehicle here for the top quality, top product, and the trustworthiness. Having a peace of mind that things were done correctly is definitely worth it.

Don't take your Mini here if you have other options. Sorry my review is a little late. But... As soon as I got my car back after they had it for several days in a routine service under the service plan, I noticed they couldn't possibly have changed the oil as stated on my invoice. You need to take off the oil cap off to release the vacuum to drain the old oil. Mine had the same cobwebs in pristine condition as it did when I took my car in. That led me to believe they probably didn't do any of the other fluid changes. How could you possibly trust them. So now the bulldog and I take the train to Tampa so awesome Mini there can take care of her.

This review is for Carlos in service. All of the service people are so fantastic but he is truly sensational. I have had to come back a few times since purchasing the car in 2020 for tires and maintenance and each time he is there and so helpful. He keeps me informed and gives me realistic timelines. While the service may not be the cheapest, hellllooooo it's a dealership, the service is always friendly and reliable. Thank you!!!

This rating is for Mini of Alexandria. I have been a Mini customer for over 7 years - this is my second one. Recently, I brought my new car in for its first scheduled maintenance. While there, my Virginia Safety Inspection was due. My service person was Joey Kestermann and he informed me that my car failed an inspection by Inspector#44730 Benjamin Baker, because of a small crack in my windshield in the top left corner of my windshield. Joey informed me that it would cost $1700 to replace the windshield. So I opted to contact my insurance to get an appointment with Safelite Auto Glass. They said that the crack was easily repairable by filling the crack so it would not spread further. I asked them if I would pass the inspection and they said yes. I took my car back to Mini of Alexandria for reinspection to Joey and he informed me that my car failed inspection again because filling in the crack was not sufficient and the entire windshield needed to be replaced. Irritated because of such a small crack, I took my car the next day to a local auto repair shop that was highly rated on Yelp to see if I was being scammed by Mini or if I truly needed a new windshield. I did not give the local car repair any background information, I just asked if they could run a VA Safety Inspection. $20 and 20 minutes later, I passed the inspection. I completely distrust Mini of Alexandria and most especially Joey Kestermann. I will never bring my car in for service there again. The service I received was just as slimy and manipulative as the stereotype for car repair shops. I do not recommend buying or servicing your car with Mini of Alexandria. I will opt to drive 20+ miles to Mini of Montgomery instead for my service needs, which ironically, I purchased my car from because Mini of Alexandria Sales was trying to overcharge me for a new Mini. Hmmmm...in retrospect, I thought it was just the Sales Department that was manipulative now I see this review is based on the whole location. BUYER BEWARE! Both the Sales Department and Service Department are untrustworthy.

Fantastic first visit to this dealership thanks to Jose. We stopped by do a test drive one afternoon to get a first-hand experience of a few used Minis that we were interested in. Jose took great care of us by providing helpful information and suggestions. He answered our questions and gave us time to test drive 3 different models. Jose was professional, welcoming, and a Mini enthusiast. If we happen to decide to purchase one, we definitely will ask Jose to help us.
