The shop itself was super cute and has tons of unique items. We liked that there was a free parking garage and WiFi since there was not cell service. We went for a “boozy bonsai” workshop and were left very disappointed. We love our bonsai but essentially we were told to take it out of the plastic pot, but it into another plastic pot with fresh dirt, decorate and trim if you want, and have a good night. The “workshop” was a one employee telling us that in under a minute. And then they left to sit at the counter around the corner. I was hoping for some design ideas… trimming ideas… we aren’t very creative which is why we took the workshop for some guidance. Also, it was SO crowded you could barely move your arms much less have a drink on the table. The little plastic pot they give you is a let down and They didn’t mention the option of upgrading (if there was that option) Overall, the workshop was disappointing.

I came to Planthouse Alexandria on Friday 10/11 for their Jellyfish Terrarium workshop! Had a blast with my girls and the Sangria was delicious! During the workshop introduction, it was shared that we could bring our plants in to get them repotted! I showed back Sunday morning with a cart full of all my house plants that needed to be repotted! Ally was a joy to work with the entire time! She told me what size pots I needed and even let me help with the process (new Plant mom, here). I just finished reloading all the plants back into my car and had to write this review before I pulled off. Planthouse is now officially one of my “joy destinations”! The place is beautiful, the plant and pot selections are abundant and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming! 5 Stars, highly recommend! I’ll have to add pics of my new repotted plants once I get home.

Shop is cute and had a large selection of common house plants. Their supplies were a fair price but they only carry basic supplies and they don't have anything more niche (such as leca). I'd recommend it for people new to the hobby

I love coming here!! The workers are so amazing and their plants are so beautiful. Yes the plants are bit more pricey but they have unique plants you cannot get a big stores such as Walmart, etc. they also have workshops!

My interaction with Nick was the ultimate experience. Nick was patience! Her knowledge about plants was a learning experience! She inspired me to be a better plant mom. I can’t wait to tell my close family/friends about my experience at Plant House. I can’t wait to re- visit once my plant babies are older.

My husband and I came here on my birthday. We had so much fun. We didn't have a reservation so we did a walk in, but there was no wait time. There was maybe two other couples working at other tables. We did the diy terrarium. My husband was a little skeptical at first but he got in to it. The staff were super helpful and kind. It's a great place for a date night/day or some girl time. We will definitely be back.

I had a wonderful experience today! Two women, alexis(I think) she had beautiful natural hair, and I don’t get the other women’s name but she had long curly brown hair. They were AMAZING!!! I came in with a very sad/difficult plant and they were able to give me advice on how to keep it from dying. And then I purchased 2 more plants that they both helped me repot AND carried to my car for me as I’m 4 months pregnant. I appreciate them both soooooooo much and I will be back again!

We did the terrarium and sangria work shop, it was so much fun! I loved getting my hands dirty and creating. The staff was very kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable about everything plants. Will be back!

Had such a great time at the Dried Floral Gold Loop workshop! The staff were lovely and so helpful, and the craft was super easy. 5/5 would recommend, and I will be back!

My friend and I came in needing plant advice. We brought six plants in for diagnostic and Nick was so knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. After Nick’s handiwork pruning and repotting, the salvageable plants looked like entirely new ones. And thanks to her expertise, we know how to care for them going forward so they won’t end up in such rough shape again. This is more than just a beautiful plant boutique, it’s a real resource for plant lovers and beginners.

My friend and I recently participated in a DIY Terrarium Workshop at PlantHouse. Instructions were easy to follow, and it was also a good value for the experience + being able to bring a beautiful terrarium home to enjoy. I've never been a plant person, and I still really enjoyed it and would recommend it as a fun group, date, or solo activity.

Recently moved and hoping to warm up the new place with a few houseplants. Staff were patient and very helpful with all my questions. I brought photos of the spots I wanted to place plants and new the time of day the lighting came through the windows. Plants were cheaper than other places I had looked in the area. Nice selection of pots to pair with my new plants. Look forward to coming back if I mange to keep these alive.
