Look in general the store is fine and meets expected needs. However, your bagel quality as exponentially decreased especially in the jalapeño bagel as there is little to no cheese and barely a jalapeño on top.

13Oct.2024 First time shopping in here and pipped in to purchase a pumpkin 🎃 ($6.99) and the lovely cashier Monica forgot to give me my .94 cents with my $2.00 change. It all matters no matter what. I’ll keep you posted on the rest of my money(have to call @ 6:30a.m., Monday, 14Oct.2024)
The place is neat and chocked full of everything. Customer is to the point and ok.
17OCT.2024 I returned and I did receive my .94 cents followed with an attitude or maybe it was a not nice energy from the customer service girl named Felicia(?)at 11:50a.m. Not my problem your cashier/coworker Monica wasn’t focused on giving me my rightfully due change. Thank you very much.

Decent-sized and reasonably hassle-free grocery store. It’s convenient for people who live nearby, but I struggle to think of any other advantages—the prices on most products are substantially higher here than they would be at Wegmans, Walmart, or Costco.

Don’t waste your money on the meat at this Safeway. I think the meat manager needs a new position. Every single time I buy meat from this Safeway, without fail, at least 50% of the meat I purchase is bad when I get it home and open it up to separate. How can they not smell this when they package it, if it really is packaged that same day?!
I’m getting tired of taking 5$ in meat back to the store for a refund every time I go there. It really is pathetic.

Store does not close at midnight as posted. They lock doors about 5 minutes before. Please update your posted hours accordingly.

As a former employee at Safeway, I advise everyone to not work nor shop at Safeway. In the end I’ve given 7 years of my life, dedication, and loyalty only for Hr to screw me over with there Bs. Back in July I got suspended for time theft that I wasn’t aware I was doing because I had a grocery manager at the time that was misleading me and others and him putting me at risks for trouble. I explained to HR about everything I did for that company and this matter being the first time I got caught up in this mess. I even explained everything I did as an employee even as a Night captain to ensure my responsibilities was in good use. It’s now September and they finally reached out to me about something that happened on August 8th that I was terminated from the company. This shows me that Safeway itself it’s not good in loyalty and giving back to employees who bust there behinds at work to build something in there resume. My background for being on time and doing everything I was supposed to do speaks for itself. No one could never match my level of work readiness and shame on Safeway and The Union for not having my back fully when I needed it the most. I wouldn’t even shop at any Safeway again after what Hr put me through for 2 months. Lesson learned going forward don’t give anything to no company!!! They don’t deserve anyone who can relate to my work readiness someone out there will appreciate me and my dedication in the near future. I promise you that.

Safeway Bellview Alexandria va is amazing! I left a pair of sunglasses at the self checkout and they kept them more then 24hrs later, after I retraced my steps. Thank you honest staff!

This Safeway is constantly selling food that is past the sell by date. I have to check every product I buy now.

This Safeway used to be really good, but I think they've fallen off in the last few years. For a while they had a guy who specialized in cheeses and would order really great stuff, now it's just big bins of whatever they can find. Likewise their selection seems to be dwindling. Can't find a lot of the stuff/brands that I used to.

I am hoping this review makes an impact on the management of this store. I live close so I frequently shop here. I also frequently buy stale and spoiled food, especially in the bakery. I bought cookies for work and everyone who tried them mentioned they were hard and it’s really frustrating because it’s soo close. The store needs a good cleaning. I will compliment the staff, they are all very friendly. I will not be going back any time soon…. I am going to try the other safeway nearby, they seem to maintain a cleaner appearance, hope the bakery game is better!

Seafood department has lousy customer service went at 7:30 to get crab legs and they said close at 8 but they were cleaning therefore couldn’t sell crab legs to me.
