Does this salvation army not honor %-off tags? Both times I’ve tried to go on 50% off days and they have said they don’t participate, and there never seems to be a colored tag on sale when I go. Hmmm

I use the donation center. Always quick and efficient. Workers always remember to ask if you want the tax form or not as well.Well run site.

Did community service for them and the passive aggressive manager lady refused to write me a letter for the hours that I volunteered for

You can find some good stuff here, and the new furniture area is nice. The store is often well-organized, and prices are generally pretty good. However, near the end of 2022 I went shopping here and left with a poor impression of the staff. Two were not knowledgeable on common-knowledge items, and at the register, one said they don't take Apple Pay even though the reader clearly said "insert, swipe, or tap card" and was showing the NFC symbol. In a previous review left on another account, Salvation Army replied saying they were actively transitioning. I'm guessing it was already complete at this store even back then.

You really can’t beat the Salvation Army retail store! The prices are great - I bought a really nice pair of Converse Chuck Taylors there and actually scored some kid’s Air Jordan 1’s once. This is a thrift store so you must really look over the items before purchasing. Some of the clothes have stains and or holes. That, however should be expected at a thrift store. Anyone expecting all the items to be in mint condition should probably shop at a regular retail store. So for what it’s worth, I enjoy the thrill of the hunt and finding that one perfect item makes it fun. Go in with proper expectations and you will enjoy the experience!

I am writing about the Salvation Army pick up services that would service Herndon VA. I cannot believe with the way the economy is today and how many need assistance that the Salvation Army can be selective in the merchandise they chose to receive. I recently had to clean out my brother's apt as he unfortunately had to go into a nursing home. All the furniture in the apt was being donated. I will admit there were a couple of pieces that I would agree would not be acceptable. The Salvation Army driver and helper declined all of the furniture due to such things as small worn areas, some minimal fading and other small cosmetic problems. This furniture could have helped someone that did not have the income to buy new furniture. I just hoped that the driver did not make his decisions on the amount of furniture they might have to move. I have since been in a Salvation Army retail store and saw furniture that was in worse condition than the furniture I wanted to donate. Think twice before you call Salvation Army. There are many more charitable organizations out there that probably would have accepted the donations. Salvation Army should be ashamed of their pick up service

What can I say... Thrifting a.k.a. recycling is the way to go. I can't tell you how many things I find that are brand new with tags & this location is no different.I went in specifically looking for some French onion soup crocks, and I found them in brand new condition $3.99 a piece whatta baaaaahhhgin! This location has a bunch and I mean a bunch of brand new with tags George Mason University spirit wear aka shirts & sweatshirts, so if that's your U then go get some gear here for dirt cheap...waaaay cheaper than the campus store!I will say I find Salvation Army, at times, a bit more expensive than Goodwill or Unique but they also have a different selection so you just need to dig. This location also has a drive-through drop off for donations, which I utilize all the time, and they actually retrieve it from your car for you which is amazing. Profits are re-purposed into the programs that they support and used for the good of all concerned.

Very good selections and really organized and clean! The store is a good size, so make sure you have some time carved out to shop.

We go here all the time. They have very nice furniture a good prices but be wary of the clothing! Many times they put the price barb right through the fabric instead of on the label or in a seam. When you take it out at home there's a nice big hole in the fabric. I've learned the hard way not to even buy those items which means I've probably left about 25 items on the rack. No one wants damaged clothing and some of it is new.

Hello!I'm giving 4 stars because, while they have a lot of variety in the store and certain items are priced really good, changing rooms, free parking, lots of women's pants, atheletic wear, household goods/kitchen appliances, etc. However, here are some things that could use improvement:They need to inspect clothing a little better and organize the clothing room (main room) so it would be more comfortable to walk around and just clean up the place and make it feel cleaner inside. After Covid, I think cleanliness standards should still stay high for the sake of customers just feeling cleaner while shopping and trying clothes on. Now, by saying this, I don't mean to say it feels grundgy inside, (I think we've all experienced some of those) it just could be better. They do have changing rooms, which is amazing, though. B Thrifty right down the road has no changing rooms. (Great store and lots more clothing options but they definitely are lacking by not having changing rooms, so this store definitely gets a couple stars for that, I just wish they'd make them a little nicer and cleaner feeling.)While they do have a lot of natural light that comes through their windows, I think lighting really does make a difference with the feeling of a store. So better lightbulbs-not necessarily super expensive ones. Just look into nicer lighting options. Somethings you guys could consider.I only review honestly to help you and your storefront become better and to bring in more customers.Thank you to the workers who run and opperate The Savlation Army stores and for keeping it going so long!

I got there at 8 AM because that's when Google said they open but they didn't open till 9:30 AM. They also seem to be in a bad mood when I asked what time they open and only responded with "not yet" when I asked. The prices are so so and they don't have it written on all the items. I bought two cables for $2.99 each. Most thrift places sell them for about $0.50 to $1. Furniture seem really expensive to me. Considering they get the items for free the prices are a bit ridiculous.

I have donated to this store for many, many years, but NEVER again. First, I was yelled at for stopping my car a foot or two short of the mark, and then when I asked for a donation receipt (which they weren't bothering to offer) the volunteer rolled his eyes, screamed about how many cars were waiting behind me (about 2!) and then waved his receipt book over his head, screaming "This is all you need!!" Well, that's ALL I asked for - just the usual blank receipt - not an itemized list! I don't need to suffer attitude and abuse from a charity when I'm doing THEM a favor. So goodbye forever, Salvation Army, I can make donations to any number of good charities that appreciate my efforts!!

It's mind boggling how a thrift store that gets used items for free can charge as much as, or sometimes more than regular online and brick & morter retail. Many items are in unacceptable condition with huge pieces missing, dirty, and basically cheap broken junk (not even nice vintage) from the dollar store with price tags as high as $8 to $10. Fast fashion items that are worn out with stains and pilling for upwards of $20, and probably more than they originally cost when purchased new. There are even half used cheap candles and empty cardboard boxes with high price tags on them. Not sure how to explain the rationale behind this other than greed or lack of awareness. I hope that who ever is in charge of processing donations takes the initiative to charge more reasonable prices that are suitable for used items.

I went to this store to donate a TV that didn't have a remote and power cord, the first time I went the guy said they would only need the power cord. I had one at home so I just put it on the TV, second day, got there, it's a different guy and he said he'd also need the power cord, I told him that they had told me they would only need the power cord, he then took the TV and put it in a Bin and told to get out of there. I would've never thought this is how I'd he treated for trying to donate something. Next time I'm throwing it in the trash or posting it for free somewhere else but not even considering going back to this place.
