Today. I had such an amazing shopping experience with Roxy. She was so sweet and warm which is much needed during this current time. All though our interaction was short she truly made my day.

We shopped at King St. Sephora to purchase make-up for my daughter’s upcoming dance performance. Jordan was a GEM and provided us with top tier customer service selecting the foundation color and all make up products required for the performance. She provided meaningful feedback and was so patient. Honestly, she made my role as a parent so much EASIER! My daughter will walk away with positive memories here at Sephora-King St. Thank you so much Jordan!

Sales people are rude here. Other sephoras actually have employees who are way nicer and helpful

Vanessa Your the Best!!! I was currently looking for a better facial cleanser that I can use. Because the current one that I had broke my skin out. She was very funny and sweet, sooo helpful with which facial cleanser I should buy. If you guys come to this store for any help go to Vanessa she’s the best!! 😆

Wanted to give a shout out to Naima. Had a wedding to attend but left my makeup bag at home. 😩Naima hooked me up with a flawless foundation, blush and brushes. She was very very helpful.

I'm not sure why they employ so many staff who stand around adjusting their own fake eyelashes and no staff to serve customers.

There are a lot of friendly workers, and Charisse helped me match my foundation/skin tint and concealer. She was super sweet and helpful!

I was not fan of the customer service I received at this location. I felt racially profiled. No one welcomed in the store. Literally walked by me and said nothing. No one offered me help at the perfume section. I had to find 2 different workers. 1 just walked away after I asked a question but I wanted more help. When I ready to purchase again I had to approach a worker and all she said “do you know what you want”. Just very bland. Asked are you ready to checkout and made it seem like I wasn’t going to pay. At this point I just wanted to get out of here. No thank you. No do you need anything else. Just unwelcomeimg. Definitely sticking the DC locations.

My friend and I came in so excited to get our birthday gifts and left upset and confused - Horrible customer service, nobody said a single word to us, asked if we needed help, and when I made eye contact with the staff they clearly looked away:/ I asked somebody for help and she coldly agreed but barely helped. We were baffled because they were kind to everyone around us but clearly wanted nothing to do with us. I wasn’t even going to grab my birthday gift and buy anything but the woman at the counter was nice so i grabbed a mini set, got my gift, and we left. i’ve never written a review before, so i feel bad speaking so poorly of this place, but experience was honestly just baffling and sad

Extremely disappointing customer service. The staff displayed clear racial bias—they greeted and assisted white customers who came in right after me, while completely ignoring me. As a long-time Sephora shopper and Rouge member, this was especially disheartening. The store itself was small and overcrowded, which I could have overlooked if the service had been respectful and inclusive.

Definitely one of the best Sephoras I’ve ever been to. It was clean, organized, and the staff were kind and helpful. Shout out to Nessa - she was knowledgeable and genuine with her recommendations!

Shout to Charisse from the King Street store for her 5-star professionalism and patience with this New Yorker who left ALL of her make up in NY. Charisse hung in there with me as I tried to buy just enough make-up for the evening without repurchasing EVERYTHING I had at home. It was important to Charisse that I had everything I needed before I left the store and I did. Job well-done Charisse, I can't thank you enough for coming to my rescue!!

Shout-out to the entire staff here on King St. but most importantly Marquetta, V, and Vanessa for being outstanding tonight. I plan to only visit this location moving forward. Every experience has been top-tier compared to other locations in the area. I wasn't pressured to purchase anything and I was helped with unique and personable care. It's like everyone enjoys their work and coworkers and that was extremely refreshing! Sephora, I hope they're getting their bonuses! ??

This is mostly for, Rae! What a blessing you are. Beautiful inside and out. While I know the heavy demand Sephora gets for makeup application sessions, the person who handles these requests and how they are, says a lot about who they are at the core of their being. Rae, thank you for taking my call and booking my mother and I for a last minute makeup session at your location. We were visiting DC from the Bay Area for a big family wedding. It was day II/part II and I wanted my mother and I to look and dress the part. Rae, very calm, understanding, accommodating, flexible, pleasant, kind, just overall wonderful was able to fit us into schedule. I was really hoping for either my mother or I to get our makeup done by Rae, but Rae was already working on another client. Here is the thing, guys, the way the world is like right now, you never know what you’re going to get from people, no matter which side of the counter you’re standing. So, it’s a big, big, big deal when you’re received well and cared for by others in any and every context. Now I know and will always remember this location because of Rae’s exceptional customer service, consistent by voice and in-person. Thank you, I really hope to see you on our next visit, and hopefully then, you can apply our makeup. You are wonderful. You know how to treat people, you know how to talk to people, you know how to interact, reason, understand, solve. Polite, charming, engaging. I mean … These are skills that cannot be taught or trained; either you have it, or you don’t. One can be a great makeup artist, but if the personality is not there, if you’re dismissive, short and interchangeably rude, I focus more on your personality and treatment towards me more than the makeup outcome from the session. How you treat others defines the experience. Rae, thank you for leaving an imprint in us. We love DC because of memories through people like you.
