Although I live in Japan, Angela was willing to trade with me even there is time difference, and I could get goods what I want without any problems because of her professionalism.

A charming and quirky antique shop right off King Street in Old Town Alexandria. I always learn about something interesting and unusual every time I go in from the owner, Angela Silverman or her assistant, John. Whether it's a coffee grinder used by military officers, a portable holy water sprinkler for priests to use on sick visits, or a stunning antique diamond ring, there is sure to be something I enjoy seeing and learning about. Some items I looked at during today's visit were enamel snuffboxes with sayings on them, a diamond jockey stick pin, some beautiful Georg Jensen silver items, and a brass chandelier designed to use both oil and candles. My husband bought my art deco engagement ring at this shop more than fifteen years ago, and we always enjoy visiting (although most of the time we are just browsing.)

I was gifted a gorgeous hand painted makeup compact from here: even came with a tag explaining the backstory of it, which was such a nice addition to have. Alexandria itself is such a cute little area and I feel like this store is the perfect addition to pop into when you're exploring the town. It is always such an adventure to drop into Silverman Galleries and there is always so many intriguing and beautiful things to look at. Angela has such a wealth of knowledge on the history of the pieces in the store and she and John are always so helpful and informative. My favorite section in the store, hands down, is the jewelry though. So many gorgeous rings from around the world, each so unique and packed with history. Absolutely a must check out when in town.

I think Angela is wonderful! She was very kind and took her time to make sure I was knowledgeable about the vintage pieces of jewelry I was looking at. The store was absolutely beautiful inside and out, and I can’t wait to take my husband back so he can see the wonderful vintage books they have. Thank you Angela for all your help and kindness., I look forward to doing many purchases in the future with you

Absolutely disgusting company. Their is a middle age lady here who sits toward the back who is an extremely rude person. This company won't be around much longer.

I've been in for the first and last time. The people working in the store would not pause their conversation long enough to give us any serious assistance. When I did have a chance to say what I was interested in, they became smug and condescending. To rub salt into the wound, when I later checked their Web site, they said that they had dealt in exactly that. Customer service, how does it work?

I have dealt with Angela and purchased from the gallery twice recently. Angela was extraordinarily personable and also went above and beyond to ship my items - and do so that they arrived safely. I am more than pleased with her communication and would highly recommend dealing with the gallery. Joe Lurie Massachusetts

Called the gallery to set up and appraisal appointment. The phone was answered by and older woman who barely let me get out what I was looking to have appraised before swiftly cutting me off and telling me they weren't currently purchasing these items. Thanks for calling...click! Even if I had other items I'd like looked at, I wouldn't take them here. If your phone etiquette is terrible, surely you cant be much better in person.

DO NOT VISIT...I had a horrible experience in this place yesterday (6/5/2012 2:30p.m.). I called to make an appointment with Mr. Silverman, so he could look at a painting and give me an estimated value on it. He told me to go in before 5p.m. and so I got there at 2:30p.m. I rang the bell and a lady (black hair, 5'2", 60ish years old), came to the door and said that he wasn't there and that Tuesday was by appointment only. I explained that I had an appointment and she was not happy about that for some reason, and told me that she did not know where Mr. Silverman was or if he was even coming back at all. I said I would wait for a few minutes and five minutes later he showed up. A little old man that should have retired 30yrs ago. I greet him and say that I made an appointment for the paintings. He doesn't say much, but just grabs the paintings and mumbles something I couldn't understand, gives me the painting back and walks away. I was confused and asked while he was walking away "I'm sorry I didn't get that". He ignores me and keeps walking, but the lady who greeted me said with a loud irritated voice "He says it's not worth an appraisal"... I asked, "does this painting have any value?". She went crazy and said "that concludes our consultation, there is the door, please leave, you are being abusive, leave noooow". It felt like the twilight zone, so I left before I became part of the episode. These people have a chemical imbalance and I have no idea how they stay in business. I figured the building is owned by the old guy and is fully paid off and he doesn't care about the Gallery. This facility is gloomy and has crazy people working there. Do not visit it to do business, but only for entertainment.
