I used a groupon for a cut, conditioning and blow dry and another groupon for brow threading. On the phone and at arrival they told me that they would charge $35 extra on top of the groupon because my hair is long. I said it was fine. Sara burned my scalp with the blowdryer because she was distracted watching something while blow drying. When I went to pay, I gave Sara the stylist $20 in cash as tip and went to pay the $35 by card but Pam the manager told me that I would have to pay $55 instead of $35 because she claimed it was now $45 for my hair on top of the Groupon price (I told her she said $35 but she then claimed it starts at $35 and "just a blow dry is $75 elsewhere") and that she was charging $10 more because they used tweezers on my brows. So I ended up paying $55 plus $20 more than the groupon price. What a scam.

These gals are great. My first time here was last year on a Groupon; didn’t care about the fine print—they worked out a great deal for me and have been very reasonable since with the price. Pam, the owner-is a gem and Sara and Ruby are both excellent too!!!Highly recommend!!!Services: Haircut

I purchased a Groupon for this place and it’s a TOTAL SCAM! Do not use this salon! I called a week ago to make an appointment, mind you I had to call quite a few times to even get a hold of someone. I had an appointment for today at 12pm. I get there, pay for parking, walk to the salon and there is no one there! Literally door locked, lights off. I called and called and texted and no one responded. I am leaving for a cruise on Saturday and this was my only day off to get my hair done. They wasted my time and I don’t want other’s interested in salon services to go through this same experience. You are better off using a different salon. Trust me.

I never leave negative reviews, but my hair was destroyed and I wish I had read the negative reviews and stayed far far away.My hair is incredibly damaged now with blotchy bleach blonde “balayage.” I asked to even out my hair tone to make it more natural. Instead they bleached my hair to a very light blonde with streaky highlights. They even complained about the person who did my hair previously, who did a great job and I loved my hair. I just didn’t go back because it was so expensive. When I told the hair dresser I didn’t like it, she complained to me that I didn’t know what I was asking for and that it looked good. And don’t get me started on the pricing. They were transparent that there would be a charge for “long hair” but that charge ended up being $75 and the client next to me had to pay $150 for her long hair!!! They will make it seem like you’re getting a “good deal” or a discount but for the quality it isn’t worth it.I am going to get my hair fixed at a different salon today because my roots look so blotchy I don’t want to be seen in public!Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where the stylists listen to and respect what you request.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. I went to dye my hair. My hair is messed up and damaged now plus I got a very bad scalp problem not because I am allergic but because they left the bleach on for too long (doctor’s word). Terrible costumer service, they yelled at me for saying it’s not good. Also when I figured it looked bad, in Persian they said oh hide the bad part and stuff because they thought I didn’t understand their language. ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANNA LOSE YOUR HAIR!!!!

I had such high hopes for this place given the great location and European flare, but it's a really awful place, and people should stay far away. I wanted a simple brown color and haircut. Pam dyed my hair using strong permanent color (not demi) without asking me and I asked for her not to touch my roots with color because I'm trying to grow my hair out and don't want color on the growth. She did exactly the opposite and then charged me $45 extra because the process was "more difficult." She ended up putting dye all over my entire head when she thought I couldn't see (while my head was in the wash bowl). She then dyed my face framing pieces black (with permanent dye) when I asked for light brown or to get rid of the existing brassiness. Now I have jet black low lights framing my face. It looks ridiculous. She also tried to tell me she gave me a deep conditioning when she didn't. She said it was while I was in the bowl, then she said she sprayed it on my hair but I wasn't paying attention. Both of those were lies. She'll do anything to make you feel like you are the problem and to charge you more $$. Now, I'm going to have to get color correcting services to fix this nightmare. Save your time, money, and heartache and stay far away from here! I also got a microdermabrasion from her with 50 year old equipment, and I'm horrified to think of what she put on my face (didn't explain anything to me). She touched everything while in the process and never washed her hands and put those dirty hands on my face. Pam should consider retiring or a different profession in a different location (not Old Town, Alexandria ??). It's not fair for customers to be scammed out of their hard earned $$ by someone who's heart isn't in the right place and who lacks the skillset and integrity.

They're impossible to get ahold of. I tried calling all 3 of the numbers they have provided on their website. No one answered in multiple occasions. If this is an indication of how they do business go somewhere else.Update: So I finally get a call back and they ask if I'm going to reschedule my appointment as soon as I told her I wasn't she hung up on me rudely. AGAIN DONT GO HERE.

I'm the last one to complain or leave bad reviews at all, but believe me when I echo what others have said: stay away. Absolutely awful experience from the moment I sat down. They didn't follow the picture at all, so much so that they chopped off a whole section in the back. Unprofessional service, from when they asked me to hold foil, brush my own hair, promise a discount and then deny a discount upon checkout & payment. The stylist seemed distracted and aloof the entire time. Please do yourself a service and go somewhere else

OMG this salon is still as bad as it was in 2016 lolIt should be removed from Groupon and change the business. I bought the Gropon and went back in 2016 for balayage and hair cut. Pam the owner brag about her skills and experience in hair that is not really reflected on her service. I asked her not to cut my hair but she did a terrible balayage ( made my hair orange) she does not tone or color over the bleaching! She keep asking for extra money for every-step you make in the salon. Sad it is located in beautiful Old Town but has Tehran quality. I said what I said.Services: Hairstyling

I had Groupon for Keratin treatment and hair cut which I purchased for $165. There was nothing mentioned in Groupon regarding extra charge for "long" hair, but I've been charged before for this, so I figured that would happen. When I called for appointment, naturally it was explained that there was additional charge for long hair (past shoulders) as this would take additional time and product. I explained that Groupon included a cut and I wanted it to be about shoulder length, so why extra charge "blah blah blah...." I totally didn't get the crazy explanation, so decided to go with the $45 additional and move on. On the positive side, a week later after washing, I was satisfied with the result.....buuutttt.....it took 3.5 hours....I've never had the process take that long. Ended up getting a $200 ticket as I was parked in a no parking from 4-6....and had no idea I had been there that long (appointment was at 1:30)....but that I take responsibility for. Anyway, it was suggested that I get the Keratin Complex shampoo....hard sell! I normally don't buy products in salon because they are over priced. But, she insisted it was best for my hair and so I gave in. $40 (and she was giving me a discount, so she claimed). Went to wash my hair today and realized she gave me product for COLOR CARE! There is a specific product for Keratin treated hair, WHICH I could have purchased on Amazon for $27 total for shampoo and conditioner, the same exact brand! She is the expert, she knew what treatment I got! Now I'm pissed....so I go today to exchange....and no one there, no one answers door or phone.....grrrrrr. Lastly, the DEAL she offered me for next time if I come direct to her and don't get a Groupon, $250 for keratin and hair cut (forgot to mention that the cut was on par with the Hair Choppery). Anyway, do the math....Groupon $165 + 45 for "long hair" comes to $210......so she was offering me quite the deal.....same service for additional $40. Run, don't walk, to the Hair Choppery....at least there you don't get screwed. You just get a crappy cut! Oh forgot the pissed off customer who came in practically in tears because she had been there the week before and her haircut was awful. After a long negotiation, the owner took her in to fix the issue. That was a very uncomfortable situation....in a tiny salon!

The worst experience ever. This salon is a scam. When you ask about Groupon coupon, the price is totally different. She said that I have to pay more for the cut hair. And when you decide to take the hair cut, (terrible decision) I never had a cut like this. Please don’t go to this place.Service: Haircut

No. She was nice enough to me, but she does not like to listen to your instructions and speaks very abruptly. I brought the root formula color with me- I know my own hair. I told her it turns brassy and this was very specific. Didn't want to even listen thinking she knew best. Sure enough - BRASSY. The keratin treatment remains to be seen, but I don't like a bait and switch type of place. Seems as if, the only people that come in here are fooled by Groupon reviews.

This salon is a SCAM!!! (The other reviews stating this are true, I unfortunately can now confirm.) Bought a groupon for $72 for cut and single process color. As I scheduled my appointment on the phone, she said there would be a $35 or less extra charge for long hair. I did have long hair, but said I wanted to cut it off. Very difficult to understand this person, Tam/Pam?? Ok, fine. Drive 30 minutes to get to Alexandria, then she tells me it will be $55 extra dollars for my long hair. Which is certainly not the price she told me on the phone, because if it was, I would have canceled the groupon and never wasted my gas money as it no longer becomes a "deal' for this new price. I said no, and as I started to head out the door, she said "I'll do it for $45 extra dollars." Yea, no thanks. You baited and switched me, which is illegal. I left and will never return! (Also, waited for 20 minutes after my scheduled time while she was working on two different people. I had to pick up a rental car down the street, which closed at a certain time. Thinking, as I'm still waiting for this appointment, that I could run and get it and come right back. That was a problem for her as she was booked "back-to-back". Yet, she wasn't even ready for me! Also, the door is locked. I knocked and when she answered, she just poked her head out. I was like, uh... hello? I have an appointment? Terrible customer service! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!)

This salon sucks. Go somewhere else. First of all, this place is very unsanitary and cluttered. Feels and looks like an antique shop. Customer service wasn't very good. They required mask when there is no mask mandate and the short lady with blonde hair had rather a rude tone initially. Hair cut was not what I asked for. She barely asked me any questions but I explained and she still messed it up. When it was time to pay, I noticed the strands were uneven and she fixed it without covering me up and there were hair all over my clothes and my skin itched for the remaining day. I got a groupon for this visit thinking it would be a nice salon located in this area but nope, opposite of what I expected and I was asked to pay extra on top since I have "long hair" which was barely below shoulder length and it's very fine. And after everything my hair felt so flat and lacked any body. Overall I did not like my experience. Won't be back.
