I responded to the email request from store manager for more information on January 16th and have yet to receive a reply as of the 19th. Poor customer service on top of poor customer service.

My girlfriend and I did the Autumn in France Class with Nick. It was amazing! He brought some great energy, taught us a few new cooking techniques and we made some great food! Highly recommend!

This place gets high ratings for location (right across from the Alexandria city fountain), staff friendliness (you get a huge smile and hello) and the variety of unique kitchen gadgets. Would you believe they carry a tofu press, pretty cool!Sur La Table also offers cooking classes. I happened to walk past the kitchen where the chef instructor Nicholas was preparing the kitchen for a class that was going to start in 30 minutes. Just the menu that you’ll learn to prepare is already ambitious with a dessert, and sounds so delicious! I’d definitely come back and sign up for a cooking class.

OMG!!!! We had the best time. I threw a private surprise party for a dear friend and invited 15 guest. To say we had an amazing experience would be an understatement. The staff consisted of 1 chef and 3 kitchen aids. Everyone was super friendly and kept the mood light. Our guest had a range of experience in the kitchen. Everything was step by step so even a person who has never even boiled water would be able to contribute to the meal. One of the best things about the meal was how simple it was to prepare. Nothing we made contained more than four to five ingredients, so it would be super easy to recreate at home. Another highlight of the night was the cooking tips chef shared with us. They will be useful for almost every meal you make. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time. No doubt we'll be back as a group and individually.

An upscale store with just about anything you might need for your kitchen. Great location on King Street, in the heart of Old Town.

Came here for the first time to take a Doughnut making class. The space was crowded for the amount of people in the class which meant you were bumping elbows when it came time to roll out the dough and other steps where you need room to move. The class was also a little chaotic which could have been reduced by a smaller class size.

Great experience shopping for the home and cashier was more than helpful! Got a wooden serving board and she even oiled it herself before packaging it for us. Look forward to coming back in the future.

Took a Mother’s Day cooking class and it was just ok. I have been to multiple other Sur La table locations for shopping and cooking classes and this location fell short. Very crowded cooking class for macarons, I wish they allowed less people so it can feel a little more that you don’t have to step behind your people on your team cooking at the same time. Instructor for the class was very energetic and gave good direction which is why I gave this 2 stars, but one of the helpers was rude and cold.

Please update your store hours. Both your google listing and my pick up confirmation email say the store closes at 8p. Granted, I arrived at 7:40p but the store was already closed. I was coming to pick an online order, not browse. It was the earliest I could get there. And as a reminder, patrons have to pay for street parking to visit this store.

The cooking class was not like they used to be at Sur La Table. The instructor was nice but had VERY limited knowledge and appeared overwhelmed. She seemed to have poached an egg for the first time the morning of the class… But worse, for $89, we shouldn’t have to be lumped into groups of four with strangers and divvy up all of the cooking tasks with them. The instructor also made the entire dessert in front of us while we did nothing. The food was delicious, but I left disappointed and will be looking for classes elsewhere. If the class had been $25 it would have made more sense and better matched the experience.

Chef Lisa R led the class and she was great! We were involved in almost all (90%)of the preparation of the meal, which we had plenty of time to enjoy at the end. There was no pressure to buy things from the store. I'm looking forward to attending another class soon.

The store reopened in March last year. The interior was completely remodeled with all new fixtures. The cooking classes were the main event. Customers will receive a discount for any in-store same-day purchase after the competition of a class.

Nice cute shop in old town Alexandria! There are a lot of unique kitchen products, the store is well organized, and the staff are friendly. There is an option to do a cooking class here as well, which is nice. Definitely recommend checking out this shop if you're visiting this area.

My date night cooking class was such a disappointment (surf and turf). I would not recommend sur la table classes to anyone who already has an ounce of cooking experience, as the only thing this class offered was a reason to leave the house. The instructor couldn't have made it any more obvious that this class would be fast. She forcefully asked the group personal questions after telling us she had to, then exclaimed "well, that killed 5 minutes!". She didn't instruct or teach us anything about what we were making. We worked in groups to not even get to cook our own meal. I also found the menu to be extremely basic with no techniques or guidance offered. The eating of the meal was super rushed and awkward as everyone just stood around the burners and set up. And the place realllly pushes the sales pitch to buy their items throughout the entire class. This was a christmas gift that I spent a lot of money on, entirely too much money, and felt so bad for my fiance that this was his gift. This place really has to do better.
