The maintenance and office staff is full of liars. Starting the day we moved in there has been communication issues with the staff. From being told “someone will come by 4pm” by the office staff and no one showing up to the maintenance staff putting in the system that my dishwasher was fixed and they called me to confirm. I have been more than patient with the staff and maintenance and I am tired of spending my time off of work chasing behind the staff to get simple fixes and honest communication. This is the photo of the dishwasher that has been “fixed”.

I would give 0 stars, discrimination and unprofessional behavior from the staff( not everyone). We mentioned our status as international students and they told us from the beginning that we are able to rent here as we meet the conditions after we paid the application fee they be asking for more papers and they even told us to pay 2 months deposit 2600x2 plus one month rent simply because we are international students we have been living in the US for 2 years now and there was no place asking for 2 months deposit. Besides not answering phone calls and the office is always closed because the leasing agents are in a break all the time. Conclusion is descrimination and it seems like a total fraud I should have seen the reviews first cause they say a lot about this place. Next time provide clear info and show willingness to help and provide ground for people to rent as we are customers eventually.

I should have listened to the reviews I read here before moving in.Front office is probably the worst one I've ever worked with. If you also ignore these reviews and decide to move here, make sure you get every last little thing in writing. They have no issue lying to you whenever it is convenient.I should have trusted the red flags, but I try to assume good intentions when I'm interacting with people and organizations. This time it bit me. From the moment I turned in my application there were 'mistakes' and 'miscommunications'.If you do need to contact the front office, show up. They will not return calls or respond to emails or even acknowledge tickets put in through the website. Get lucky and have someone answer the phone, or show up to the office. It may take repeated trips. And make sure you specifically ask for everything in writing, because they will lie to your face and over the phone. Be annoyingly persistent or you will not get anything done. That said, grounds crew is great. They are professional and very friendly and helpful. Apartment isn't bad. The lack of lighting in the living room is a little annoying. The other residence are good people, for the most part. The location is nice too. I haven't had any pest issues yet, but I can see how it would be a issue.Edit: Scratch that. Just saw a massive rat just wandering through the parking lot, not a care in the world, middle of the day. Driving in thinking, 'What is that? Is it a wet hamster? Way too big for a rat? It's almost the size of the neighbors new puppy.' Maybe they stay away from my apartment because of my cat.Right now, I'm counting the days till my lease agreement is done.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The size, price and amenities of the the apartments are pretty basic and on par with every other place in Alexandria so go anywhere else but here. ERICA DIAZ, the assistant property manager gave me my tour and was very nice and accommodating up until I signed the lease.I just recently moved in and am counting down the days until I can move out and not have to deal with the leasing office. Now that I paid, they never return my calls. I always have to go in person to talk to them and Erica lies to me about why she didn't return my calls. "Sorry I was not in yesterday" which was a lie as I heard her in the background the three times I called her assistant Jennifer to ask a question. Disrespectful and rude, I'm not an idiot. I've lived in apartments my whole life and have dealt with many leasing offices in NOVA/DC and this has been the worst experience EVER, and that is saying a lot since I just came from Southeast DC.I have been provided the wrong house keys and key fobs. Those are the bare minimums when moving into an apartment, no? When I asked if I was getting a correct house key, Erica just said no. No "sorrys", no explanations. Told me I had to make copies myself. Why should I have to pay extra for something that is provided to everyone? It was the office's fault for giving me the wrong key so why should I have to pay for it? Not like I owe them thousands or anything like that, I am up to date on my payments and have not caused any issues so they have no reason to treat me like this.TDLR: DO NOT RENT HERE, THE LEASING OFFICE IS RUDE, WILL IGNORE AND LIE TO YOU AFTER TAKING YOUR MONEY AND SIMPLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR NEEDS. THEY WILL WITHHOLD BASICS LIKE KEYS AND FOBS FROM YOU. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST LEASING OFFICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD TO DATE. THE MANAGER SAMANTHA SIMPLY DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE SO THIS WILL STAY LIKE THIS.

Extremely rude management team. My patio is like a rat playground. Management still has yet to send pest control out to fill the holes that are extremely visible. DONT MOVE HERE. They have rat trap boxes that have been placed. I know from my previous work that those have to be maintenance in order for them to be effective. They haven’t been since LAST YEAR when they were first placed. I have multiple photos of rats and roaches from residents. Roaches crawling in their cabinets and refrigerators. Please do not move here. There is no parking . And when reporting issues the leasing teams is very nonchalant and acts like things are your fault almost. Also the rent increase are extremely high

I really really REALLY wish the first reviews shown of this place weren’t so negative. I’ve lived here about a year and a half, aside from the small flaws/signs that the updated apartments may have been a bit rushed (nothing to ruin your day to day living) I have not experienced any intrusive pests, all my appliances work beautifully, general areas in the neighborhood are clean/kept after by the lead maintenance man who I see early in the morning sometimes picking up any stray litter/trash that find their way into the parking lots. Cleaning service comes regularly to maintain inside the buildings steps and landings. And the ladies in the leasing office are so understanding, accommodating, and polite. I can agree that parking gets tight at times but given the area we are in and having lived here for my whole life, parking is tight EVERYWHERE unless you have private property. All neighbors are loud to be honest but again, nothing that would deter me from living here. I’ve renewed once and my rent increase was approximately $40 but this may be on a case by case basis. Bedrooms are very spacious and from befriending neighbors and seeing their apartments, we get tons of natural light which I love. All in all, this place is astronomically better than many of the places around here, ladies in the leasing office don’t bait and switch you with a nasty attitude and ignore you after you’ve signed, and the maintenance teams are so swift, for me at least! The negative reviews almost drove me away from this place definitely consider checking it out in person!

I’m typing this review at 5AM as I was awoken by my obnoxiously loud upstairs neighbors. This is a daily occurrence, as they tend to stomp/run/slide across the floor loudly from about 5AM-3AM daily, making everyone miserable. When I say everyone, I mean it, as even my next door neighbors can hear the people upstairs, and can feel the building shake when they stomp, gallop, and jump around. Although the terms of our lease specifically note that noisy and avoidable disturbances are to be avoided as to maintain courtesy to neighbors, the leasing office does not care to enforce it (aside from Vanesa, who is very sweet and has made a few courtesy calls), and my complaints have been dismissed, as management has explained that this is what comes with living in an apartment. Many of us (myself and the readers of this review) have lived in apartments, however no one should be subjected to the amount of noise and disturbances that I am subjected to. Given the rental prices of this area, peace and the ability to sleep through the night should not be a sacrifice. If you are looking for a place where you can relax when you get home, and sleep through the night, or a place where management cares about your overall satisfaction and comfort, you would be wise to look elsewhere, as you’d be taking a HUGE gamble here, and likely regretting your decision.

Do not let them fool you with its looks. This place genuinely sucks. Can barely EVER find parking and is too expensive for what you’re paying for. I can understand thin wall yeah, yeah it’s an apartment complex but man I just wow it’s getting to a point where I can hear my neighbor sneeze and it is quite annoying. The multiple times in which multiple work orders were put in was done poorly in which I’d have to put another request in because of it not being done right the first time. Really avoid this place man it’s not worth it. Overall find better this place is not it

Poor Management Team. During our stay, we dealt with mice, critters and parking issues. The mice started appearing halfway through the lease and the leasing office was nonchalant about solving the issue. The pest control man would come and put down useless glue traps. We had to buy our own traps from Home Depot and that was how we caught the mice. Also, when getting off a late shift, there was NEVER any parking in front of our building or in the adjacent parking lot. We had to park a quarter mile away from our home in 30-degree weather after working all day. Once, we parked in the open handicapped spot in front of our house and they towed our car. We had to pay $180 to get the car back even though there was literally 0 available parking spots near our apartment. This was a miserable experience and every complaint we made to the leasing company was met with a nonchalant attitude. Then they had the nerve to increase the rent by $300.Do yourself a favor and do not move here.

It is impossible to park after 8 pm, each neighbor has 6 cars in one apartment and even takes space for guests. I think at least one space should be reserved for each apartment for free.

I don’t recommend this place for the people who comes late from work. I come late from work and I can’t find even a single parking spot to park my car which I have the tag for it.

The Alante is a tight knit community of respected professionals who look out for each other, be it tenants, leasing office, grounds team, or management. And they do really care for each other in every aspect. I've not seen or heard of any pests or infestation in my time at this residence - kudos Alante ! ?

As a new resident we’ve been happy enough with the accommodations. The apartment is clean, and functional. I would offer the customer service at the Alante is severely lacking though. In terms of the front office, most of our engagements have been with V, who has been very helpful.Mrs. D. (property manager) is where I’ve taken issue. Specifically, with one of the few payment methods the Alante mandates it’s residents use (no cash or checks permitted). In our case (during our first month of residency) the system affirmed a successful rent payment, waited until after the payment would incur nearly $300 in late fees (7 days), and only then notified us that payment had been declined because the account could not be found. We contacted the front office to see how we might correct the issue, only to receive an email back notifying us that because the money had not been received we would be charged the $300 late payment.A few choice phrases from the response to my email sending an exception included “am I to understand…” and “I am not inclined….” In under a month, this is not the first issue we’ve had. As such I’d give the Alante two stars largely for the leaderships unwillingness to work with their customers given an unfortunate situation.Having served in the military for over 23 years, lived in multiple rentals, and as a landlord with multiple properties myself, I would argue this is not the best way to do business.

Do not move here! It’s rat and mice infested. Absolutely disgusting. No matter what pest control/maintenance does, the rats are still present despite keeping a clean home. We pay entirely too much to share the space with rodents. How about the Alante Apartment do something about it.

I was being told that any complaint you get once (MOSTLY a Noise complaint) that you won't ever get an apartment here ever again.I heard that the AC's here used to be weird but it's now a great experience (I'm weird and like the hot or cold air) and in 4700 building the 1st floor (Below) it was so disgusting because a resident had pets (recommend that all pets are inside during the cold months and days and when it's a warm day have them outside). The Floors In Building: Made out of wood in the living room - hallway and bedrooms only have carpet and the wood planksRat complaints: may be in old building's (all buildings are getting renewed).Spiders and other species: I heard that their were bugs and spiders going out of cracks so I recommend yall company to fix let dents or just patch it up.A recommendations to all family's: if you have kids that play with each other I recommend getting a apartment below. My complaint: A women go goes out to somewhere else and comes back in a month and stays for a week I need a paper sent to her where is she going bc it's not cool that family's can get kicked when she comes back and makes noise for the day. That wasn't the best experience I'm not gonna say the apartment number because it will get somewhere else but if you work for the company send me an email so I can send you the apartment number. The building is 4700 (now think of all the reviews you seen and most is about 4700 the building getting more reviews before).
