They could do far better. The food is beyond awful, yet to get a seat with even a hope of a view of the act, you must show up very early and either order food or sit there. They have not updated in decades but rake in the money. You must use Ticketmaster to buy tickets, which is terrible. Birchmere, you have loyal customers and get great acts. You could do an upgrade in the kitchen and provide better seating and a better way to buy tickets.

One of our favorite venues in the DC area. Small in enough that the worst seats are still pretty good. Food options are reasonably priced and saves me rushing to eat before a show.

This is one of my absolute favorite places to catch a live show. A bonus, several performers have told me that the sound engineers and acoustics are some of the best in the country!

The Birchmere is a great place to see a concert (or.show). It sits 300npeople, and there are no really bad seats. The food is great (a little pricey), and the bar is huge. My only issue with this venue is that when you buy tickets, you are buying tickets without chosen/assigned seats. For example, for a 7:30pm show: You have to show up around 4:30pm to stand in line for a ticket with a position number. At 6:00pm, staff start calling out the position numbers. You take your number and you get to go in and pick any open seat at.that time. The bar is open, so you can get drinks, and some appetizers, while you wait for them to start calling numbers to select your seat. I didn't really like the way they do the seating. I would prefer to buy tickets with a pre-assigned seat so I don't have to show up 3 hours early for a show/concert.

This is basically a dinner and a show venue. No seat assignments, you need to be there three hours before the show to get a line number. And even with that it's hard to get a good seat. They have tables around the stage and a second elevated level with tables. People order food before the show while waiting.

Food is pretty good and I love the way they do seating. No long lines, no pushing or shoving, just adults moving forward when they're number is called. We had great views of Colin Hay and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking for an excuse to come back!
