No complementary WiFi (seriously?) or valet parking, but the worst characteristic of this hotel is the noise insulation—namely the door. You can hear everything outside of the room. If you have a baby or pet, forget about sleeping—we had both.Regarding the WiFi, Marriott will tell you if you sign up it's free, but it's not even full speed. The UX is terrible and the speed is barely enough to watch a video.

A bit old, the flooring is already worn out, the rooms are quite dark, you can't get anywhere without the metro, but it's pretty quiet!

The rooms are very nice. I did not like that there are no ventilation fans in the bathroom. So foggy after showers. Also ridiculous that there's no complimentary breakfast at the rates you pay. The trademark restaurant was fantastic. Had the fish and chips and the burger. Delicious. The siracha salmon salad was very goodWalkability: There are stores nearby

Great hotel with fine staff. Outstanding restaurant (Trademark Drink & Eat) with an imaginative chef and delightful bartenders and waitstaff.Nearby activities: Alexandria is a lovely city and you can walk to the US Patent & Trademark Office building where there's a fascinating museum. Amtrak is close (walkable) and there is a shuttle from the hotel that can take you to Old Town Alexandria to shop and explore.Walkability: Close enough to walk to quite a few restaurants and shops and it's fairly level so getting in a morning run isn't difficultFood & drinks: Great restaurant... You wish you had this place in your neighborhood! Staff is wonderful (look for Genet at breakfast... She's terrific!). Food is almost always what we're looking for

-I asked a front desk staff member for a cellphone charger from the "Lost & Found", but was told I could buy one from the gift shop. Why would I buy one, if they had one available - very rude.-My room was not cleaned once the whole 3 nights I was there. When I left in the morning I removed the ''Do Not Disturb" sign and came back everyday to my room & bathroom not cleaned.-My A/C vent in my room had dust and mold on it. It seems like it was not cleaned in years. Other guests who were with me said the same thing about their rooms - not hygienic.-there are no microwaves in the rooms for some odd reason. Also, my refrigerator was broken and they fixed it but the very next day it broke again. All my food got spoiled.-The workout room is barely adequate. Please put at least one leg machine.

Great location for a business conference or just to be in the heart of downtown Alexandria! Nice location, great rooms and extremely friendly staff! The restaurant on site could use a little....errrrr, a LOT of help! Their staff are on the struggle bus! The rest of the hotel and conference space are fantastic!

Let me preface this with, I have not stayed in this hotel, nor will I be in the future. I made a reservation a month in advance for two rooms, which I required to be adjoining. This was for an event that was to be held in one of the hotel conference halls.I have four children under the age of 8. My husband is military and there is a chance he wouldn’t make the trip or would have to leave precipitously. I made these factors very clear to the (very polite, very helpful) staff member with whom I made the reservation. These rooms HAD to be adjoining. The reservation line told me this was possible and to call the weekend before to ensure that that the rooms would be enjoining. I now understand the use of the word ‘possible’ was intentional. When I called to reconfirm that the rooms would be adjoining, at the beginning of the week containing the reservations, I was told that this was not guaranteed, and in this specific case, unlikely. Now, I would understand this if I had made the reservations at the last minute, but this was not the case. I have enough uncertainty in my life; I don’t need a hotel telling me that they’ll ’escalate the request’ but that it technically is a 3-5 day process… on a Saturday when my reservations begin Wednesday.I think the Westin/Marriott staff is very well trained and courteous, and in the past I have specifically requested their rooms at large conferences because their amenities are excellent. But from this experience, I conclude that their reservation policies are not family-friendly, or military-friendly. I will not be recommending them to anyone I know in the future and I will specifically be telling my military friends and family (all of whom are BIG travelers, by definition) about this experience.Take your business to the Hilton instead, they’re the only ones who guarantee connecting rooms.I further recommend that all military TDYers stay in the close by Hiltons, so that they can accrue reward points with a family-friendly hotel.

I'm not a fan of valet parking. I don't like people in my vehicle which is my only sanctuary. This hotel requires valet and whether it's free or not, I'm not a fan and I would recommend that patrons be permitted to park their own vehicles.
