This is not a RETAIL STORE. They are a Bulk Mail Unit and distribution center for 22314 area code. They do not sell stamps, certifies, money orders, priority boxes, passports, drop offs etc.

Unwilling to ship heavy package from Amazon to my home despite a promise from their dispatch they would ensure a second attempt and promised delivery the second time. Same result, rogue driver refuses to make the delivery second day also. Now Without my bed for which I paid home delivery!!

I was expecting a package from overseas and received a notice that it was undeliverable because the sender had put an incorrect address, so it was going to be returned to sender. I drove to the Memorial Branch on Duke St., and the Post Office employee was able to search the back room and find the package for me. I was so grateful! I also get great service from my Postal Carrier, Maria. I can’t say enough about how good our Postal Service in Old Town Alexandria is!

You cannot mail letters and packages from this post office. They do not do "retail transactions ".

Makes me appreciate the senators that vote to reduce funding for the post office.

How does a mail courier leave Certified Mail at the wrong address? I was home all day in my home office near the front door and no one ever knocked; no letter anywhere.... Called Duke St USPS for 2 hours non-stop and they never even answered the phone...

The inside of this post office smells like urine - homeless people often sleep in it at night due to chronic homelessness in the nation, sadly. All this during COVID pandemic, needless to say getting this phone number from the George Mason branch took three days. Utilizing the online option was tulmutuous as they forwarded us to a 1800 number who then transferred us, who then transferred us, who then transferred us giving us wrong telephone numbers - please see photo - I will keep trying and keep you posted as well! To think we have no housing options to keep warm other than the local post office in which they sleep and release themselves throughout the night.

James, our postman, left me a note with his personal number for me to contact him anytime because I was having issues getting my mail forwarded to my new place (previously an office building now converted into apartment units- never switched from a business to a residence). He helped me come up with a solution and just went above and beyond, which was incredibly refreshing (especially in this area) as I was very frustrated with the thought of soon losing access to my mail.Thank you again, James!

To be clear, there is *NO RETAIL SERVICE* at this branch. There is no desk or cashier; you cannot purchase stamps, envelopes, or boxes, or anything else. If you want to go to this location to drop off a letter or package to ship, it must already be sealed and paid-for.
