I read reviews from 10 years ago. 2024, it's the same or worse. The line is still very long. Service is degrading. Store manager is super rude with refunds (stated the store policy for etextbook that if the access code wasnt used then return can be made within time frame. My purchase qualified all that for return but she keeps complaining about eating the cost) what cost? Real money comes out of my bank. That the cost I paid. What cost she ate? The rules apply only when it benefits the store. Slamming the keyboard, whistling while doing refund and complaining aint best practice for customer service. Once they sold, there is no help afterwards if you have any problem even if the mistake came from miscommunication bw department and bookstore. I can't believe this kind of service still survive 2024. Lastly, don't call customers the "swearhearts" while degrading them at the same time. Very untasteful.

The older woman that works here sounds like she lacks seasoning on her food, but likes getting spicy with customers :) ... Avoid her at all costs if you want quality customer service.

The Barnes and Noble is a hassle, though they have some good supervisors, they have no IT help for students and you could flunk out just waiting for help

It's not just a bookstore and Starbucks for students. Members of the community also enjoy browsing and shopping the bookstore and picking up beverages, snacks and sandwiches.

It gets three stars because the female manager is hellish. I thought she was just rude and unprofessional to her employees, but turns out she's rude to customers as well. I have no clue how she's allowed to work there despite everyone actively disliking her. I would avoid her if possible. It's a shame because the college aged employees that work there are very friendly and smart, and they deserve better then to work under her.Outside of that, the place is clean and well kept. It has a pleasant atmosphere when she isn't busy screaming at people.

Overpriced, café Manager is rude as hell, wouldn't open up another register with a line. Higher up should consider giving customer service training.

I believe the prices for textbooks is WAY too expensive. You can find the same books elsewhere and they’re a lot cheaper. You would atleast think they would give you something back for bringing the book back on time and in good condition considering the price you pay to have the book for 5 MONTHS. Also, the customer service isn’t bad among the associates, but the manager is very rude. You can be talking to her and she will cut you off. Then she’ll ask something that would’ve been answered if she had been more polite. I’ve had multiple bad experiences with her and always regret having to talk with her when an issue arises or I need to rent a book. I know we’re college kids and older people can dislike us, but we’re people as well and don’t deserve to be treated that way. Especially if we’re being respectful.
