Just stopped in to get my grandson a pastry we were passing through and had stopped at the visitor center. Wish I had more time to explore this place it looked fascinating with all of the books and records and little seating areas to read and have coffee and pastry

I stopped by Baine’s Books & Coffee on my last day at Appomattox for Presidents’ Day weekend. I ordered a satisfying chicken pesto panini and a delicious hot chocolate from the café and browsed eclectic sections of historical biographies, works on faith/spirituality, and the classics. There’s a cute children’s section in the back and a second level too. I would love to visit again for an open mic night with a few friends!

The food was excellent and the atmosphere is perfect. I had a Makayla and it was delicious. The service is excellent and the people are very friendly. I highly recommend it for just a little wonderful place to sit down and get together or read a book!

What a gem. Such a cool space, perfect to stretch your legs, our toddler was entertained. Great book selection, coffee, tea and food. We enjoyed our chai and mocha, along with a scone and panini. Friendly and prompt service with a unique and artsy vibe.

Baines is one of my favorite places in this world. I've been going since I was a kid and spent a lot of afternoons there as a teen. The book selection is good for a used bookstore, the vinyl is decent, and the food and coffee are phenomenal. I pick up Baines coffee beans every time I come through town. Personally, their scones and the pasta salad are so good. Its one of the gems of Appomattox, and a visit for the cozy ambiance alone would be worth it. I'm probably biased, but I feel its one of the best coffee shops anywhere in Central Virginia.

Friendly baristas! Clean establishment! Chill vibe to sit and relax, read, study. Easy parking and great coffee and food. Sausage quiche is amazing!

I love supporting local/ small coffee shops! I really like the ambience here! And i like their location, downtown appomatox. So quiet and peaceful place. I love the frozen coffee that i got! Mocha frappe! You should try it guys!

Great cup of coffee. Huge selection of coffees and delicious looking, made from scratch food. Would love to see one or two egg free and gluten free selections on the menu. Such a comfortable place to sit and work. Loved the atmosphere. I’d love to have a day just to browse through their collection of books. Perfect place for a rainy day.

My favorite place in town, pleasant atmosphere, friendly people, amazing coffee and food, hosts an open mic every Thu. Bookstore feel but with coffee and music, a great combo.

Great coffee shop/ book store!! We drove an hour to bring our daughter for her birthday. It did not disappoint. Employees were super friendly and the coffee and atmosphere was great!!!
