My wife has been trying to get me to switch from Truist since BB&T and SunTrust merged. I had been with SunTrust for years. I was reluctant at first but I'm glad I did. The staff at Bank of The James is amazing. I was able to set up my new checking and savings with ease. I enjoy it when I have to go into the branch. The decisions they make are local and not made elsewhere in another state. That is important. I prefer to keep what little money I have locally than elsewhere.

We had the best experience! My husband and I just moved to the area and we chose Bank of the James to open our new accounts. From the moment we walked in and the first person we spoke to, I knew we chose the right place. A special thank you to Angie who helped us open our accounts. She was very friendly and definitely made sure we understood everything we had just done. I look forward to going to the bank.

Best bank I’ve dealt with and now the only one! I wouldn’t consider using any other bank here or in Lynchburg! The employees are professional and personable! Especially Angie who went out of her way and came to my home when my mom was dying. ❤️

BOJ is an exceptional bank. You can always count on quick, courteous and knowledgeable service. Tina, Angie, Meghan and Tom are always ready, and know how to provide service that best suits your banking needs. There service was good enough to persuade me to move all our business accounts with them as well. Appomattox Bank of the James is the best.
