Great polite people there. Excellent place to shop. I always check expiration dates and prices. If it's on sale and seems reasonable I'll buy, if it's on sale and seems high, I will not buy. Compare with other stores!

Kroger is starting to slip hard. I guess there is a reason they are shutting down stores to save on their bottom line.
It sucks seeing these Companies go to self check-out vs being an actual grocery store with baggers and cashiers. It just encourages stealing and BS.
I’ve been pushed to a 1 star because we started trying out the pre-order grocery system they have in place, and every single time, there is an issue. Something missing every time. So we tend to actually lose money trying to save money because we are missing items we paid for. I’m not using this service to take the bags apart and inventory what my significant other ordered. We should be able to pull up and have the order ready. And if it’s not in stock, it’s not in stock. Note it and move on, Like come on.
This business is stupid easy, tired of getting 16-year old high-school teenager service from full grown adults.
But will continue dealing with the nonsense, not like we really have a choice.

I usually have no issues at the Kroger in Appomattox, been going there for 16+ years. I did not appreciate that yesterday I went to purchase some Creammer and some vitamins, the vitamins said buy one get one free. There was only one bottle left of the one that I wanted so I talked to the pharmacist and the pharmacist exact words were yes, they will give you half off because we don’t have anymore. I go to the register and ring up with Brooke, she flat out, tells me we don’t do that and is really really rude about it. I tell her then go ahead and take it off because I’ll go back to the pharmacist and ring up with him because that’s the price I was told. She does so and I pay for my Creammer and go back to the pharmacist and he rings me up no problem and literally says oh I don’t know why the cashiers have to be so difficult. On my way out I literally said oh Brooke you do it, bag secured just so you know next time. Do better Brooke do better. you’re now a laughing joke to our fault. How rude.

Do not bother placing a pickup order here, workers unable to comprehend orders placed.
Missing items every time I have had a pick up here, not very convenient when you have to drive back to the store and wait 45 minutes to receive missing items. Better off going to Walmart if you’re going to place a pickup order.

Kroger should be ashamed of themselves for having such a nasty noncustomer service location as appomattox is. Employees are rude and will push you out of the way to get what they want. Floors nasty. Whole place is a joke shame on them.

Submitted an online mid sized catering order for this store for pickup and went it to get order and was told they never received it. During this discovery, another customer was waiting in the deli area also and let me know that they too had submitted an order for lots of fried chicken to be picked up at 10am and it was not ready. Mind you it was a little after 11 at this point. I was able to get food from a neighboring pizza place but this other guy was forced to wait as he was feeding 50plus bus drivers from the local district. While the manager and staff were very apologetic it doesn't change the huge errors that occurred today. I would use extreme caution when placing any deli/catering orders here.

I used to like Kroger but the last time we went they have changed their store policy on buy one get one. It used to be if you bought one you got the half off now it's only if you buy 2. Sometimes I don't want to buy 2. At least Food Lion still sells it this way.

Always out of stock on a majority of items. Usually deals are mislabeled. Store usually has a disgusting odor. Management walks around unkempt and disrespectful. Really, it's not a grocery store, it's a glorified gas station.

Always in-stock, they have the best and most gluten free items of anywhere in the surrounding counties. Great customer service and the to-go orders are always on-time, accurate and fresh.

This Kroger used to have more groceries but now every time I go they don't have something I need. I have also seen torn and ripped packages on the shelves. Their prices are a little higher than some other grocery stores. Most of their employees are friendly but there are a few who are a little rude.

Tonight I was told the self check out lanes were reserved for customers with 11 items or less. I questioned the long lines at the only two full service lanes and was told when they are understaffed they have only one or two lanes open for full service. Going forward I will purchase only 11 items that cannot be found at other stores and take the balance of my business elsewhere.
