I have no problem with the staff except they rarely answer the phonesand i know that's due to lack of employees. But the process and procedures for uber renters is unacceptable. When I first received my rental, I got a new car. I drove it and made my $363 payment WEEKLY on time and my headlight goes out. I bring the car in and had to be put into another car because of the maintenence issue of the headlight. They gave me the same type of car but the car smelled so bad, like it wasn't cleaned properly and the car must of been in an accident because the left headlight was scratched and was held together by clear tape. The guy sprayed the car and I went ahead and took the car. I cleaned it myself and got the car to my satisfaction. Now, the headlight is out again and I'm told that I have to bring the car in and hope they can get an appointment to have the headlight fixed because they have no other car to put me in. Now both headlights are out and now I can't drive at night. They have no other car to put me in, and I guess I'm just out of luck. For the amount that they charge us, this is unacceptable. There's no one to complain to and there's no way to get reimbursement for the inconvenience of not being able to drive the car and make money for the amount we're being charged. So frustrating and disappointing. Not only that, the new car they put me in, I had to pay for a new tire $191, after only having the car for 3 weeks because they don't cover the tires. I'm so frustrated with this service. I feel like l'm being exploited and taken advantage of because of the demand for uber rental cars. And if your payment doesn't go through for any reason, they're so quick to kick you off the uber app but slow to take payment and put you back on the app. My head hurts ?

As a Holelier with 20+ years experience in an airport district as well I am appalled by the deplorable level of customer service, consistently provided by Avis at Pentagon City Mall. I assure, you will not be valued as a customer instead treated as inconvenience for your patronage. Having had a consecutive weekly rental for the last 6 months, I can attest to the gripes of many other reviewers. Having been at the location in person several occasions I’ve witnessed and have been subjected to the lack of professionalism and attentiveness, by Avis representatives to the point where I was at the counter being assisted and the agent abruptly stoped assisting me to bar-rate another customer who arrived with a confirmation because Avis couldn’t honor the confirmation due their mismanagement of the reservation/inventory process. My personal experiences also include incorrect billing, failure to reinstate the rental correctly to my account resulting missed wages. Today I phoned Avis Pentagon City Mall today through out the day a total of 21 (TWENTY ONE) times with no answer my 21st call, that was answered at 10 til 5 and was told I could not be assisted with payment inquiries after 4pm and needed to call back the following day for assistance, this is after I’ve called TWENTY ONE times through out the day trying to get someone ANYONE to answer the phone. Yet again I have to miss out on a day of income with evening job Ubering and will have to take time off my day job tomorrow to drive an hour and twenty mins each way to the branch to resolve the matter a simple phone call could have resolved, due to Avis poor customer service.

This is the only only Avis that I go to in the DMV area. They are always friendly, quick service/ turn around time, and very professional problem solvers. I absolutely love these people. Quality good humans work there. The owner is very personable, hands on and humble, which is reflected in his staff. I have rented from here over 15 times in the past 3 years. Highly recommend.

This is the worst none professional staff never pick up the phone and when they do very rude, disrespectful in some case hang up the phone on you bad experience that why I will never refer people I will go somewhere else. There car compare to other rental place is too high at Avis 1100 Hayes st VA BAD BUSINESS

I rented a car and when I returned it, I saw that my money for an extra week had been taken. They said it would be refunded. I contacted customer services via e-mail, and although almost 2 months have passed since they said that my money would be refunded, they said that my money could not be refunded today. Some of their employees also have serious problems. Even 1 star is too much and I will definitely not come again.

Worst experience I ever had for car rental service. I got bullied and mistreated by the associate at Avis in Pentagon City Fashion Center. My experience at this location is a nightmare and would never want to come back to this location. Follow up on this review, I got general manager's contact info in the DMV area. His name is Gene Ker. I was told I can file the complaint to him. Unfortunately, after I called him and told him my experience on the phone, he asked me to send him an email with all the details. More than 2 weeks have passed since my first email was sent. He never responded to my email even after two more follow-up emails. So disappointing, no wonder the service at Avis is bad. They just don't care.

Everyone was really friendly, had a relatively quick pickup and a very quick dropoff for the rental. The car was in good shape, they inspected the car thoroughly when handing it over. The car was clean, the process was pretty smooth and it was relatively affordable.

UPDATE: Corporated customer service resolved my inquire, Thanks.*********************Original:I Wish they could see Uber drivers as customers, not like a hasle, after have problems with a vehicle they gave me another car miscategorized as "Comfor" in uber platform and costs 30more a week, with phone in hand calling with an uber representative confirmed is not a comford vehicle, since they din"t believed me in the begining, after listen the uber representative, they said if not their problem and they didn"t wanted change the rate, now i am paying $30 extra a week for a car that does not get the uber rides for what i pay. Wish I could go lower. Piss poor operation. No instructions on where to go. They are nestled in back of mall. They take around 15 minutes per customer. There is only one line. They falsely advertise they are Preferred..They are not. I showed them THEIR locations description, they said that wasn't them (with their address in the description). Get in line and wade through the people who don't have a reservation.Never again.

Worse rental company I ever had experience with. I am a Uber driver and I waited more than two hours because stuff members are very relax and slow in work. They gave me a car which was due oil change next month which I didn’t know until they called me and I was like I just got a car last month . Whenever you call at this location so they don’t answer the call. And customer care aren’t very helpful and rude incase you call them for any issue. They don’t have a specific day to withdraw money from your account . They will do weekly withdrawal any time or a day of the week.

The car that was not clean and appear that the preventive maintenance was not properly done. The car present problem to start and was necessary in the same day request a roadside assistance to jump start. This has caused my to incur in Uber expenses, late arrive in the appointment that I had, among others situations.

Expect long lines and a wait of at least 30 minutes at this pickup point. If you're having trouble finding the Avis section, just walk through the hallway next to the Levis Store. Even if you have a reservation, they might deny you a car by claiming they've run out! In the words of Jerry Seinfeld, they're experts at taking reservations but not so skilled at keeping them!I blame Avis, not the staff working at the site, as they are helpful

Pros: Avis as a rental car company is overall fantastic. Staff at this location are very friendly, professional, and courteous, and try their best in sometimes challenging situations. Car was in great shape as always.Cons: I am Preferred/PC and had to wait 57 minutes in line to pickup my vehicle. Suggest perhaps implementing a process to expedite your preferred members (or increase staffing). Once I got to the counter, it took about 3 minutes to print my paperwork and send me on my way. But that was an hour I really didn’t have to spare…Also FWIW This location while Avis, is apparently independently operated not by Avis but by a Nonda Enterprises.
