The reason this property appears “affordable” is because it does so at the expense of basic living standards. Residents should expect frequent and unannounced water shutoffs, as well as power outages that can last for multiple days—often resulting in spoiled food and significant inconvenience.
Pest control is a serious and ongoing concern. We have experienced multiple mice in our kitchen (approximately 4–5), including contamination throughout the pantry and kitchen area. Despite submitting multiple maintenance requests, management has failed to address the issue in a timely or effective manner. Rodent activity is also prevalent in the parking areas, with little to no visible action taken to mitigate the problem.
Parking is extremely limited and inconvenient. It is not uncommon to spend 20–30 minutes searching for a parking space, a situation exacerbated by newly constructed buildings in the surrounding area.
For residents who work from home, the environment is particularly challenging. Ongoing construction creates constant noise and poor air quality throughout the day, making it difficult to work or live comfortably.
Overall, the lack of responsiveness and accountability from management is unacceptable. The negative reviews associated with this property are accurate. Avenue5, it is likely that this review will receive an automated response; however, what tenants actually need is timely, meaningful action and direct communication—particularly when it comes to maintenance and health-related concerns. Management has proven unreliable and ineffective, and I would strongly discourage anyone from moving here unless they are prepared to personally manage pest control and tolerate persistent infrastructure and quality-of-life issues.

The LAST thing I want to do is give Crystal House a 5 star rating!
The leasing office is the worst I ever experienced. Majority of the employees that work at Crystal House are rude, entitled, and unqualified to perform their job the way it should.
Also dealt with roaches frequently, broken elevators, they make you go downstairs to the outside for any of your recycling.
However, Carlos Gonzalez deserves beyond 5 stars for his maintenance and care! He truly helped me when I needed assistance with any issues in my apartment.
I will NOT miss living at Crystal house (minus the location) but Carlos was great.

I’ve been dealing with repeated billing issues every month. Extra fees keep appearing, such as charges for double parking—even though I’ve told them multiple times that I sold my second car—and renters insurance fees despite paying it monthly. Every time I bring these errors to management, I’m told it’s a “system issue,” yet nothing ever gets fixed and the same problems return each month. The management’s inefficiency is extremely frustrating, and I’m tired of having to address these issues every time I pay my rent. I shouldn’t have to deal with this on a monthly basis.

Not recommended.
I moved out in August and requested an updated deposit check because I changed my mail address. Recently I still have not received my check almost four months. I called several times and still no response. I emailed them lots of times and still let me wait for their management. I waited for the response almost four months. please look at these comments before moving in crystal house.

Because I work nights, I don’t get home until around 10 p.m. Every night, finding a spot feels like playing Squid Game—I circle for at least 30 minutes, wait for someone to leave, then rush to grab it. There are tons of cars circling with me; who knows if they’ll get lucky within half an hour like I sometimes do.
One night I had no choice and parked in a not-so-legal spot. I spent the whole night dreaming my car would get towed. By 6:30 a.m. I couldn’t sleep anymore, so I got up, went down, and moved the car—shoutout to the early birds heading to work for freeing up a space.
So why am I still paying for parking just to suffer like this? I’m paying, but I don’t have a spot—is that even legal? And what makes this apartment’s management think it’s okay to treat residents who pay rent and parking fees like this? Seriously—legally, is this acceptable?
I can’t take it anymore. The parking situation is really messing with me. I work nights, but every day around 9 p.m. I start stressing about what I’m going to do when I get home. It’s ridiculous. Why am I paying to torture myself? Is there really no legal recourse for this?
Update on 11/9/2025:
Since last night, not only has the water not been hot enough, but the heat hasn’t been working properly either. I thought it might be better today, but now the water is completely cold, and the heating isn’t working as well. What is going on??? Are we living here to practice ascetic monk training or what? The parking situation is already extremely frustrating, not to mention all the construction disturbing everyone for so long, and now this on top of it. Why is it that this company can do such a terrible job with everything and still rent these units out to us? is making money really this easy?
What makes me truly furious is that the only thing they are ever proactive about is collecting rent. In all the areas where they’re supposed to provide good service, their attitude is always, “This is how it is, what can you even do about it.” There is no respect, no care. As tenants, all of us are doing our best to be responsible, paying rent and all required fees on time, but as the people renting these apartments to us, they are completely failing at their job. Both management and facilities are full of problems; every day it’s something new breaking down. But when it comes to taking our money, they never miss a beat. Is it acceptable to not provide the basic standard of living promised in the lease? How can they do this with zero shame?

Rent is too expensive for the amount of issues I have encountered in the apartment. The paint in my bathtub is peeling off, unit above me leaked water and no help was provided until 2 months and it ruined my floors, the cabinets are all scratched up (prior to moving in), the sink is stained (prior to moving in), the fire alarms going off caused me migraines, annoying construction everywhere, when I need to open my windows and all I smell is the garbage from outside, only three of my stove rings work (no fire comes out from one of them), the hallway is ugly as hell walking to my apartment, the elevators always stink, bringing up groceries from the garage as a single woman is a nightmare (why is there no elevator from the garage.., RATS by the garbage outside, cockroaches when i moved in, the AC didn't work during very hot summer days in May (old management). Also, when I had the water leak from the unit above me I was worried about MOLD AND THEY DIDNT EVEN DO ANY TESTING FOR IT THEY JUST PAINTED OVER IT.

I recently needed repairs done in my unit. Adonis, the maintenance supervisor was wonderful! He worked with me to schedule prompt repairs and the staff did a great job! I was very pleased with the attentiveness, efficiency, quality of work and customer service!!

This has been the worst living situation I've ever experienced. From roaches to broken appliances to now no AC available, we 100% do not recommend this apartment complex.
The leasing team are all very kind, but they don't seem to have the power to do much in terms of helping tenants have a better experience. Management shut off all AC access (even though we pay our own electric bills) so now our apartment stays around 80 degrees at all times. Their only advice was to open the windows, which lets in the lovely cigarette and weed smoke from our neighbors balconies. Over half the parking has been removed. Issues that are supposed to take 48 hours max to fix take 7 weeks. Dishwasher infested with roaches. Washing machine completely molded out. All of this in a renovated unit! 0/10 don't live here.

I’ve been living here for the past three months. The people in the leasing office are really nice, but unfortunately, the building itself is in poor condition.
There are roaches and mice in the apartment, and the fridge was broken for an entire week before it was finally fixed.
Since they turned off the A/C, it’s been extremely hot inside the apartment — it feels like a nightmare, and I can’t sleep at night.
The parking situation is a mess. There are no available spots because they’re building a new houses (new buildings) nearby. It’s honestly a real nightmare.
I'm paying to suffer here, CRYSTAL HE@“

This is by far the worst experience i have ever had first it took them weeks and weeks before getting my leasing contract on my second years not to mention the month to month up charge wish took them two months to clear out from my account but the worst thing happened when we tried to upgrade to a bigger apartment so after doing a tour of it and signing the lease agreement i got surprised that this apartment is actually for work force not to mention that some of the managers told me that i will have to pay a 1000$ fee for upgrade. Then another manager told me that this is false. Finally half of parking spaces has been taken down do to construction so you better be home before 6pm or you will sleep in your car .the so called solution for them is that they find parking spots in another building wish is 10min walking home but in order to secure a spot you have to enter a random lottery to get the spot there. What a joke this building and management staff are. Im so glad that im moving next month what a relief. if you still reading this comment DO NOT WAST YOUR ENERGY AND MONEY its not worth it

Waiting for the security deposit check since April. The first check has the wrong amount and it takes forever for them to issue me a right one. Not to mention I went to the leasing office so many times for this matter and it’s still unsolved. Terrible. Don’t live here.

The worst apartment I have ever lived!
1. Cockroach are kept found in our kitchen and bathroom every midnight. We call the pest control, they came once but doesn't work at all. We have tried our best to keep room clean. Now I know its the apartment‘s issue instead of mine.
2. 2 new building construction projects have been started around the building together. EXTREMELY noisy and very bed air quality. Ground parking lot have been limited extremely.
3. Unfair charge for parking. If you are new here, ground parking $100 every month, current parking lot $75. New here for Garage parking $175, current parking $150

Very bad experience — extremely dissatisfied.
I have been living in this apartment for three years, and every lease renewal has been a nightmare.
1. First renewal: Took 20+ follow-ups before they finally renewed, and only then did they remove the unnecessary month-to-month fee.
2. Second renewal: Another 10+ follow-ups. Rent stayed the same, so I let it go for a while, but later discovered my utility bill was double compared to the same unit type. They had been charging for four tenants instead of two because every time a roommate changed, they added the new one but never removed the old one. When I asked them to fix it, they just pushed the responsibility onto us and told us to deal with the utility company ourselves.
3. Third renewal (current issue): After another 10+ follow-ups just to correct the billing, they finally sent me a contract. But instead of the promised rent ($25xx starting in June), the contract suddenly shows $28xx starting in October.
After all the delays, mistakes, and lack of communication, they now expect me to accept a higher rent and later start date than what was agreed. This is by far one of the worst rental experiences I’ve had. Do not rent here if you expect professionalism, transparency, or even basic responsiveness.
