Giving two stars because the store is new, and the free, convenient parking garage is a definite plus.
Unfortunately, the pharmacy’s customer service leaves much to be desired. Every time I’ve visited, the staff—from the cashiers to the pharmacists—seem disengaged and unhappy to be there. While no one has been outright rude or aggressive, basic courtesy and a welcoming attitude are consistently lacking.
The overall atmosphere feels indifferent at best, and based on other reviews, I’m clearly not the only one who’s noticed. I understand they may be overworked or dealing with difficult customers, but that shouldn’t impact the experience for the rest of us. A little effort in customer service would go a long way.

The new location (Columbia Pike and S Glebe) should be great for business--a lot of potential customers. However as others have pointed out the staff are not customer focused. They are on their phones a lot and seen pretty indifferent or invisible. Stocking is poor too. Bumping this up to two stars because of the potential. I hope that management will read this and take responsibility. (No I'm not going to log in to the CVS website and submit a comment there.)

The IVR says you can leave a message for pharmacy requesting a call back (there’s NO way to reach a human), but then the IVR does everything possible to prevent you from actually leaving a message! This is RIDICULOUS! There are times that automation does NOT work and a customer NEEDS to speak w/the pharmacist!

I guess this location has just opened. It’s clean and nice but employees have so much attitude. I needed help on self checkout but one employee is just standing there with her phone like she’s not seeing me, argued with each other in front of me and another customer, and another one is on the phone with airpod and I asked twice that my payment went through. And one of my item’s write was different than the shelf price.

No one answers the phone when I call the phone just ring ring ring
Update six months later now I can’t even call the CVS to speak to anyone.
I thought it was bad at 2601 Columbia pike but it’s much worse at 3301 Columbia Pike store
. A Change is going to come, yes me leaving CVS to someone else .

One of the women who works at the pharmacy was very rude. They should take a customer service course and learn respect and education. I will definitely change my medication supplies to another store. These are people I would never want to see again in my life.

While I’ve had no problem with the CVS staff here, the parking lot is privately owned and has a contract with Advanced Towing Company, which engages in fairly aggressive and predatory tactics to make money for the lot owners and themselves. The ATC tow truck drivers are typically sitting across the street with a view of the CVS parking lot (see photo below featuring tow truck and CVS in left frame of photo) and watching for you to walk off the lot for any reason.
Today, they were watching from the Domino’s parking lot across the street. Presumably they photograph you if you leave to go to Starbucks/Giant or any other store in the area. This is of course the lot owner’s right, but very aggressive and aimed at folks who might pick up a medication and then think to maybe grab a coffee or some groceries across the street. Don’t do it!
I would not ever return here as the only permitted activity would be to go into the CVS or buy from the burrito stand, and there are many other CVS locations and burrito stands. Haha; lesson learned.

I am posting this review to send a message to the management of this CVS location.
While visiting this CVS location, my car was towed from the parking lot. I had the receipt and showed the towing company “Advanced Towing Company LLC”. They were very unprofessional and very rude and cared less about the receipt.
I have already changed my pharmacy from this location and will never visit this place. I would rather drive a mile farther than visiting this place.
One star review is not for your staff but for the managment who doesn’t care contracting with a company that steal from people.

Nobody works here! It’s impossible to find an employee. I gave up on buying anything here a while ago, but now I can’t even find 1 employee to drop off a UPS package. Get it together for real.

I needed some prescriptions ordered because none of the CVSs in the area had it in stock and the pharmacist acted like I asked her to climb Mt Everest.

As a loyal customer of CVS Pharmacy, I regret to say that the quality of service has significantly declined over the past year. It's disheartening to witness a once-reliable establishment falter in such a crucial aspect. Phone Etiquette: The most frustrating experience has been their phone system. When attempting to reach out, it feels like navigating a labyrinth. Either they don't answer at all, leaving you hanging in a void of dial tones, or when they do pick up, they promptly place you on hold. And oh, the hold music--a monotonous loop that could drive anyone to madness. Endless Wait Times: If patience were a currency, I'd be a millionaire by now. Waiting for assistance on the phone is akin to watching glaciers move. A minimum of 45 minutes to an hour--that's how long it takes before a human voice graces your ears. By then, you've contemplated the meaning of life, reorganized your sock drawer, and considered taking up meditation. Customer-Centricity: Remember when CVS used to prioritize customer satisfaction? Those days seem like ancient history. Now, it's as if they've forgotten that we--the callers--are actual people with needs, not just background noise in their busy day. Lost Faith: Sadly, my faith in CVS's ability to provide efficient service has dwindled. I've resorted to carrier pigeons and smoke signals as more reliable communication methods. In conclusion, CVS Pharmacy, please reclaim your former glory. Answer those phones promptly, treat your customers with respect, and spare us the endless hold times. Otherwise, you might find your clientele dwindling faster than a melting snowflake in July.
