Absolute best mechanic I’ve had to date as a car owner. Very personable customer service, honest diagnoses and prices, and overall excellent car repairs and maintenance. I can say with confidence my car is in better shape while being serviced at Japanese Auto Care than it has ever been since I bought it.

My girlfriend took her car here for a routine oil change. They identified a problem with the water pump and offered to fix it. It was expensive but she agreed. When the car was returned the AC would no longer get cold, only blowing hot air. She took the car in and let them know. They refused to accept it could be related to anything they had done. They said it would be x amount more for them to look at it and fix this new problem. She left frustrated. I took her car to another mechanic and explained the situation. He reached his hand in under the hood and reconnected something Japanese Auto Care failed to connect after fixing the water pump. The AC was blowing cold immediately. This took him LESS THAN 2 MINUTES!!!!DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO JAPANESE AUTO. THEY ARE PREDATORY AND UNTRUSTWORTHY.Services: General repairs & maintenance

This used to be a nice place. They are still polite, just charge you triple the prevalent prices. At least this is what they did with my sway bars replacement. I strongly suggest you check the prices elsewhere before you commit.

Outstanding service. The mechanics and technicians give you precise information. They do not intentionally give you misinformed information. I highly recommend.

I have taken my car here twice now and will continue to do so! They are quick to fit me in and communicate frequently throughout the day when needed. For context, I am a young woman, first time car-owner with relatively minimal knowledge of cars. I often feel like I am an "easy target" at auto shops. Not with JAC! They were transparent, affordable, and treated me with dignity and respect despite asking lots of probably obvious questions. Finally a place I don't have to say "let me ask my dad!" Lol. JAC did great diagnostic work and kept me updated during the day with cost estimates and updates until the problem was fixed. I appreciated that they are not trying to "sell" me extra work that didn't need to be done. They pointed out a couple future tasks that needed to be completed and gave a reasonable timeline for when to return, not pushing me to have them done same day when it wasn't needed. I just got my car back from the second time there and they once again were honest and transparent about when I need to come for XYZ and routine maintenance, or what isn't necessary at all. Thank you for the best service JAC!

I began using Japanese Auto Care in 2019 and the staff and service has always been wonderful. Communication was great before, during, and after service/repairs. Their front desk attendant always took time to address my concerns, offer education about my car's needs, and never spoke to me in a condescending manner; unlike some other mechanics/dealerships. If my issue was a simple fix, they offered guidance on how to address the problem myself. And if the issue was more involved, then I felt comfortable entrusting my vehicle with them. I never felt pressured to have unneeded services performed and I truly appreciate their expertise, professionalism, and kindness.

These guys are the best. Honest and fairly priced. Dealer told me I needed new front brakes and the cost would $850. Took my car to Japanese Auto Care and they told me I had 15,000 left on my brakes. I no longer live in Arlington but I still take my car here.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Where do I even begin? This is the most dishonest shop in the area, and I advise you to avoid it if you don't want to play phone call games with the store manager and get marked up prices on every repair.I went in to get the rear passager suspension fixed. We agreed on total pricing IF the shocks also needed replacing. At this point, they offered a free oil change and a tricky $100 discount since I brought them the business. I told the store manager (who you'll always find at the front desk and lies in your face at every opportunity and is a master of bait and switch) to do the rest of the service first, and if I don't need the shocks replaced to leave it untouched since I'd save about $180 in parts and $360 in labor (both are marked up as you can see). Before I picked up the car, he ordered a new pair of shocks and told me it would take a week to have them shipped (This is to lock me in on the shocks service). Since I needed the car as soon as possible, I paid for everything including the shocks without labor, and picked up the car. He then called and told me that I needed to go back and give him $360 more to have the shocks replaced since I already paid for the part (Not because it needed replacing!!). Then I test drove it with the stock shocks, and as expected it was completely fine.So the next day since I couldn't be there, I sent in a friend to ask for a refund for the shocks. To my surprise, he denied to give the refund since the shocks were a "special order" (really for a Toyota?). In addition, if I didn't go through with the shocks service, he would need to add back the discount he initially offered me for bringing them the business (WHO DOES THAT AFTER THE TRANSACTION IS DONE??). My friend then asked to give us the shocks that I PAID for and again refused and sent my friend home.Aggravated by the situation, I went in the next day, and as soon as I walked in the “store manager” said "There are your shocks on the floor. We won't be doing business with you anymore". I didn't say a single word, only checked if the parts were genuine, and walked out.Guess what?? I'll be the one telling everybody to not do business with you! I left out a major sketchy part from the review for your business's sake and because I have some humanity left in me. And PLEASE don't give me that BS response that you've been giving to all the one star reviews saying they got the wrong shop as this is definitely a review for Japanese Auto Care on the corner of Washington Blvd and Glebe Rd in Arlington

I’ve seen the base of knowledge, the quality of work, and the dedication to the craft the owner brings to the table. I would not hesitate to bring my Nissan here for a major repair. They may not be the cheapest place in town, but, remember: you get what you pay for.

I've gone to Japanese Auto Care twice and both times have been very disappointed. The first time was due to an unusual problem with my Prius's hybrid system; the mechanics at Japanese Auto Care took a look and literally did not know how to fix the vehicle, and told me so. Fortunately the Toyota dealership was able to help (and in their defense it was a very unusual problem). Japanese Auto Care got points for honesty, but as it was a problem unique to a Toyota system, I was disappointed that a mechanic specializing in Japanese cars did not know a solution. After I received a recommendation from a friend to try them again, I did so, and after this unfortunate visit I will not be returning. I was told that my front strut assembly needed to be replaced, and was quoted a price of around $1100 for that replacement. As that cost is far too high for a front strut assembly replacement, I took the car to a different mechanic for a second opinion and was told that the front strut assembly was actually perfectly fine and that the cause of the problem was something else entirely. They fixed the problem I had for $300!

JAC really nailed our repairs on our 2012 prius, they did a fantastic job! They swiftly got us a diagnosis, parts ordered and work done super efficiently.

Must say — these guys were fair and reasonable late on a Friday night. Probably saved me a lot of money by helping salvage a punctured tire instead of trying to make me get 4 new ones. Good service, reliable, and very fair pricing. Highly recommend if you ever have any car troubles.Service: General repairs & maintenance
