I’ve been to Modern Nail Bar a few times, but after my most recent visit, I won’t be going back. I got a gel manicure and pedicure that cost $80, and the gel started peeling off the very next day. When I called to let them know, they told me to come back in to get it fixed.
However, when I arrived, I was treated like a burden. Kim and the staff made it clear I was an inconvenience, even though I was just asking them to fix a service I had paid for. The atmosphere was uncomfortable and unprofessional — they had me moving around from chair to chair, no one was really helping me, and no one even tried to locate the color I had originally chosen. I was told to find it myself from their disorganized selection. A business that refuses to take accountability for their work speaks volumes about how little they care about their customers.
I had booked my original appointment online and chose Kim’s name without knowing anything about her. When I arrived, she made a point to let me know she “doesn’t do pedicures”. On previous visits, I was seen by someone I believe was named Thinh. She is rough with nails and cuts you every time.

I just tried this place and I do not recommend. I arrived there to get a manicure, pedicure and gel nails. Got there thirty minutes ahead of time and waited. There was this lady who was just downright rude to me for asking to see the dummy nails painted to selected a color. Maybe she is having a bad day but she should have just stayed home. The worst customer service I have seen in a very long time! What was intended to be a pampering day turned out to be just an awful start. Avoid this place. I will take my business elsewhere.

I have been going to this location since they opened around 10 years ago. All of the technicians do a great job, I have never had a bad experience. I have recommended this salon to friends and they have also been going there for years. I have seen them regularly accommodate every request and walk-in they can. Highly recommend!

Vy gave me excellent service, she even stayed late to complete my nails, I got a french manicure and pedi with the dip
powder and it was perfect. I highly recommend Vy and this nail salon, it was excellent!

I’ve been coming to modern nail bar for a couple years and Kim always does such a great job whether it’s acrylic, gel x, or dip! It’s very easy to make appointments online and all the staff is friendly & professional. I’ve always had good experiences here & will continue to be a repeat customer :)

Vy is amazing! I went to her every 3 weeks for dip mani and regular pedi and she always does a wonderful job. I always get tons of compliments on my nails after she does them. I highly recommend anyone in the area to go to her!

I’ve been coming to Modern Nail Bar for years and highly recommend coming here for all your mani/pedi needs in the Arlington area. Kim has always been super helpful picking out colors and styles but everyone else on the staff there is great too!

I’ve been coming here for years, even after leaving Arlington for D.C. just because they are the best! The nails don’t come off prematurely and they always help me bring to life beautiful designs. The manager is amazing at nails, the one man. Today Jenny did my nails and ahhh love? They are beautiful for summer. Also she was so sweet to chat with.

I have been coming to Modern Nail Bar for five months now and they always do an amazing job with my SNS dip manicures!! I was going to another Arlington salon for years but switched because of inconsistent quality between nail technicians. I have never had that problem here, even when I usually schedule the last appointment of the night - everyone consistently does great work. They are clean, kind, professional and helpful!
