I love safeway but not this one. They should teach their staff how to be more friendly rather than being racist. I guess when you're asian they won't even accommodate you if you need help. Because that's what happened to me. Also, their staff at the self checkout (9:10pm who ever he is) rather than telling me where the line starts he literally just look at me and let the other person behind me go first!! I would never ever come back at this location ever. Also, most of their items are expired that's why I'm always hesitant going at this grocery store. Friendly advice to everyone who's planning to do grocery shopping here always check the expiration date and be ready to be ignored by their staffs if you need help!

Okay, it's Safeway. Long lines, staff hates their jobs complaining it's their break in front of customers and the deli ignores you. However, it's always stocked and not while you are shopping, which is a constant annoyance at Harris Teeter. The pluses: best floral and gifts, local and fresh produce, always a manager around, one floor shopping.

Want to read a novel? You'll at least complete part of a James Michener work here. The lines are always frustratingly long. No rhyme or reason, at any time of the day I've gone it's a logistical nightmare getting out of here. Then again parking is not much better. The staff as limited as they are in number, try their best but this location needs to get more employees! Items are often gone completely, such as Chobani or Oikos yogurt especially if on sale. The produce section is pretty good. I will compliment them on this all being fresh, but the prices are ludicrous. Red delicious apples for sale at $1.99 per pound. That's highway robbery! As for the rest of the store, the competition is much cheaper than these folks. Much better spots to go.

I very rarely have trouble getting what I need from this location. There is a good selection of everything. I was, however, disappointed that they stopped carrying my favorite Brie because I had been so impressed when I found it there. Normally, you can only find it at Harris Teeter. And that's unfortunately still the case since this Safeway stopped carrying it. But I will still shop here. The location is convenient, and you get gas points at Sunoco when you shop.

This location was a convince location for me to stop by after my work. But I stopped going to this location for a couple of reasons. First, I started finding many expired foods on their shelves even though this store was very small one. It seems they couldn't keep up with only small amount items/foods that they had in the store. Then an assistant manager tried to charge me a higher price for an item without scanning the item itself. The price which he told me was more than it stated on the shelf and if he scanned the item at the cashier, he could find out that I was telling him right. But when I tried to explain it to the assistant manager, he acted like I was forcing him to change the price to cheaper than it was supposed to be. And I could tell he was not listening what I was trying to explain. After this particular incident, I was too tired to report it to the store manager or their corporate office and I totally stop going to this store after the incident.

I prefer the Dangerousway. Wait, is that the backdoor way? Hmm OK I like both. Or is that sans rubber? I like that too. OK I'll take all of it. That's what she said. I've never been a big fan of Safeway and this one in particular is problematic because it is limited in terms of space, and the traffic in this area is absolutely nightmarish. They really need to do something about it - like build some underground roads or something because things cannot go on this way. Absolute gridlock. The store itself is expensive and is often sold out of the things that I come here looking for. Same goes for my uncle.

God this location is the worst. Dirty. Never enough cashiers, long lines, brusque and infriendly workers. The scanners routinely ring up at the wrong price, too.

They always go out of there way to help with prescription and Brian says "hello Mr Thro" even if Im just walking by. Truly the best pharmacy I've ever used.

I have been coming here since forever. Has gotten so bad. Rude employees, no cashiers, etc. Tonight the manager just strolls by and there where at least 10 customers in line. Did absolutely nothing. I don't think he even noticed much less cared. Bye safeway

I have been here so many time and it's the worst customer service. Never enough cashiers. Bad set up. The cashier, with a line of people waiting to check out, would examine some of our purchases and roll his eyes or actually said he didn't understand why we were buy a cat toy.

Going to change my rating from a 4 to a 2. The place is going down hill, no cheese products one day and almost no vegetables the next. Plus they haven't invested in chip scanners so they are asking for ID and such now (because they are assuming the risk for the card now). Think I'll be hitting up one of the Harris Teeters now.

Nice workers at this location. Good selections especially in the produce department. Love the Starbucks. Gross mice running around the front door!

Been here twice. Food selection is decent. We found everything we needed. Points off for poor check out line service. The cashiers didn't know how to do certain things when the credit card reader wasn't working and they didn't help each other. Our cashier also was very rough with the food, seeming to slam it down on the conveyor belt. Even the eggs! Makes the Nutley st store seem like 4 stars. This is not our usual store and hopefully it is not like this all the time.

I shop at this Safeway all the time, as I have since 1997. I like their produce section (consistently fresher and more extensive than Harris Teeter, not to mention MUCH less expensive). Staff members are friendly and helpful, managers are prompt to correct problems, and I like their meat selection too. I haven't had any problems with expired foods; nice bakery, deli and cheese selections. I'm not a Starbucks fan but they have a small coffee bar here. Not as big as HT perhaps but in addition to all the good qualities I've mentioned, the parking is ample here!
