I've been a couple of times, and they may be nice, but I think "lgbtq friendly" is a little over-generous to say of everyone.Good time- got an appointment with a dude who did exactly what I wanted and didn't try to upsell me nor make me feel bad about it, and I'd showed a drawing from a comic book. I'm sorry I didn't tip more, that was impressive.Bad time- One lady kept trying to guilt me about "oh but you can do so much with longer hair ". the artist either didn't know how to work with my wavy hair texture, or didn't know how to do a masculine cut, but she made a bunch of layers that even another person at the salon admitted was choppy of her, but I'm just upset about the price, made me pay for the incompetence. Also , I may not have cried about shorter hair, because I was literally paying for it, but the price certainly would. All I wanted was a barbershop style cut. Maybe it's because I also got highlights, and those aren't free (to their credit, the highlights are still in, and weren't too blonde, so at least that was fine, but I'm not getting more highlights because need the money for other stuff), but I cannot emphasize enough that I am not made of money, and the fact that they felt so comfortable upselling me is appalling. Honestly, I just trim my own hair now to keep it out of my face. I really was delulu and thought I might be able to sell it for college, I was still young and dumb and didn't understand that the pricing took a chunk out of my college savings.Decent time- went back in winter time, someone else was appalled by the layers. I'd asked about hair health, the lady also talked a lot of good advice for keeping stuff moisturized so it wouldn't flake so much, and to be fair, the shampoo she recommended (which I use sparingly to make it last) does precisely what was intended, moisturizes and keeps the color in.Note- for wavy hair, I twist with the way it naturally falls first, then cut along the twist, don't try to pull it down to straight, at least that's what I do for my own hair. Work with a texture, not against it. Don't try to brush it to straight because when it scrunches up it will look wonky.

I love Abeba's magic touch. I come for simple cuts and trims and leave feeling like I got a make over. Wonderful and a pleasure to visit with her!

DISHONEST, GREEDY - DON'T BOOK THROUGH ONLINE BOOKING.I had an appointment on 11/28 for a shampoo and blow dry, pricing through their online booking stated it was going to be $53.00 with ANYONE, I figured since this was my first time that I didn't care who I booked with so I selected that option. Came to my appointment 5 minutes early and was greeted by the stylist. She take one look at my hair and said my hair was too long and checked the price on the system and came back to tell me it was going to be $59.00. I do not trust salon like this, if this were to be the case then don't put $53.00 for this service if it is NOT TRUE! I was frustrated with them so I declined the service and walk out of there. I thought this was going to be a great salon since it was near my job, but it turned out not to be the case. I will not come back here again. I suggest that if you are someone that have hair length past your chest a bit, don't book here because they will upcharge you just because.

DO NOT get your hair cut here. I asked for the most basic thing and they could not deliver. I just needed some shorter layers and more movement at the top of my hair, I even showed reference photos. I specifically requested that the lady working on my hair do NOT thicken up my bangs. And the ONLY significant thing she did is make my bangs thicker. She gave me mushroom bangs in 2023. Also, the layers she cut are choppy and uneven, I have random short hairs on one side of my head that very obviously stick out.I am so upset about this haircut. I just want my money, time, and hair back.Service: Haircut

I booked a $44 haircut online because all I wanted was a simple trim. I got a trim, it wasn't very good but whatever sometimes that happens and then when I went to pay, I was charged $60. When I asked why, they said an "experienced" service provider cut my hair. #1 I didn't ask for anyone special to cut my hair #2 What you book online doesn't matter and #3 the cut wasn't very good and I wasn't happy with it so I paid more for a cut I didn't even like. I will not be returning.

What a horrible experience!!! Our stylist was Robin. My husband has been growing his hair out for almost 2 years. With hair well past his shoulders, uneven but long, we went in to finally get it trimmed and shaped. Robin completely BUTCHERED it instead. I personally spoke to her and showed her exactly 5 pictures. From every angle of the exact look he wanted. A med long man’s haircut. Very masculine and current. She very confidently said “I got it”. Then less than 15 mins later, as I come back from the restroom he has a women’s pixie-ish / bob. WTH!!! I was furious. To add insult to injury, her initial reaction was to tell me that’s what I showed her. And she said “bring up the picture” I don’t know if this woman needs glasses or what. Clearly no where near the same cut or length. As she saw the picture and saw that there was no similarity, she then said she did it because it was too thin on the ends. I was furious so I had to just walk away from her. I headed to the register to pay and she followed me telling me I showed her 1 picture and that’s what it looked like. After her seeing how upset we were she FINALLY apologized. But not to my husband!??!! Yes I was furious. But more so at her not taking accountability and lying to my face! Even so it was clear he was upset and she didn’t even bother to apologize to him. She at least refused to take payment. However, the massive disappointment this experience was coupled with her initial reaction make this by far the worst haircut any one of us has ever received. Robin was clearly out of her depth. Just wish she had expressed that and been honest. Or just asked as she was cutting. “Hey what do you think of going shorter. This is why I suggest that…”. We will NEVER return and definitely shout that from the mountain tops. I never write negative reviews because in the end, it’s just never been worth it. But this time, seeing how upset my husband was once we walked out of there and how horrible the cut is I just can’t hold it in. Steer clear of Robin.
