There’s no way to call directly to one of the branches, so I once again wound up speaking to someone in a call center who had no idea how to respond to my specific question about a specific branch. Just generic answers apparently designed to get callers off the phone. So now I’ll have to walk a mile to get the answer the call center was unable to provide.

Feroz Niazi needs to learn how to check his email inbox. I emailed him a few times, and he never got back to me.

I have found the service here over the decades to be uneven. But, when overseas, sometimes very useful. I am sorry to report that it just gets worse and worse. Now it is almost impossible to reach anyone in the bank who can help with actual banking functions. Instead, you may be funneled to a live human being but they have no authority nor ability to make any transactions.

Called the credit union phone number as I needed help to access my account online. The man was very rude and demanding. He not only wouldn't do what I wanted him to do, he tried to use me like his employee getting me to do for him what a colleague should do. After answering security questions he kept doubting me and asking other, sometimes rude and inappropriate questions for "security" reason. Very poor customer service and such attitude!

If you want to have an immediate medical emergency, just call the SDFCU for information regarding an account. No one knows anything or maybe knows one step but not who knows step 2. When it is over, you have gained nothing except an additional layer of frustration. You go round and round from one to another. The automated menu is confusing and I have currently been in a loop for 45 minutes waiting for the next available representative. I have been going through this for at least two weeks.

I have had 2 incredibly bad experiences with this bank and their employeed. Both had common features a) they lie, misinform, ignore, mislead and insult their customers; b) they contrive to keep your money months extra, not even providing plausible explanations; c) they are experts at creating situations in which there is maximum inconvenience, and need for involving other agencies to get back your own money, d) they withhold information about the transactions that harm customers, then twist fantastically incorrect "misunderstandings" at their customers; e) there are no managers available. They bounce from one "superviser" or individuals in their "central office" who do not talk, but only provide one-line emails that do not answer the question, or not pertinent to the actual concern of the customer. They are a horror show with devious intent. They disobey various government rules regarding bank (CU) behavior. They waste so much time that it is easy for customers to give up getting what is theirs to begin with. Deliberate indifference in all areas, and regarding money, approach theft by deceipt. themselves. If you want a bank to safely keep your money, be truthful, attend to your banking needs, be civil in conversation, this is not the bank for you. If you want to risk losing money, with the bank assisting in your loss, like the cloud and confusion designed so you do not see the fast moves, enjpoy wasting you rtime and writing endless letters to employees that pretend they dont understand or read, this is your bank. Dealing with SDFCU is an education because it is hard to believe that authorities and regulators do not close the place based upon ineptness and trickery,

Excessive security shutdowns of credit card account compared to other Credit Unions, and awful outsourced customer service. Autopay required mailing in a snail mail form....sad!

Their proof of address requirements are needlessly higher than other financial institutions, and their customer service is a bit lacking.Sounds like I dodged a bullet, though.

The absolute worst financial institution customer service I have ever experienced. If you want to spend hours on the phone trying to resolve simple stuff, to have transactions continually blocked for no good reason, to fight through antiquated computer systems, this place an deliver you as much pain as you want.

Took my lunch hour plus some extra time to trek to this branch for a medallion signature appointment and to open an account. The appointment was done on the web since there was no number to call the actual branch. In fact, every number is the same no matter what branch you search for. It must be a call center. When I called for info, the representative on the phone said they do medallion signatures as long as I was a member. No mention from that representative that I had to be a member for 6 months to get it. There was also no info on their website either! Perhaps you should actually put this info on your site or even better, have an actual number to speak to a person at a branch so you can stop wasting my time and other customer's time. I'd give zero stars if I could.

I have been with SDFCU for 20 years. Not good.... I have had numerous issues with these guys for years. I will say however, they tend to handle loans and financial matter well while I travel. The major issue as I see it is the decline in their customer service. Something needs to be fixed. There was fraud on my credit card and rather than competently working with me it took over a hour of being bounced from one number to the next. It was as though no one wanted to do their job. It is now the end of the day and the card is shut down. Yet, I still cannot get through to have the right forms sent to me.
