I recently completed PT for neck and head pain related to spine degeneration("old age"). I have complete confidence in my therapists' skills and advice and problem solving abilities. Having had PT for several other issues from post op, broken bones, running injuries, I know therapy can be difficult, hard work, and must take a huge amount of patient follow through to make it resolve the issue. Guiding this, is the therapist's knowledge used to identify and treat the specific problem. I had several different therapists who gave me slightly different exercises to try, and the combination helped find the solutions that finally worked for me. Thank you Elizabeth and all the terrific therapists at Jackson Clinics Shirlington!

Do not go here if you are recovering from a legitimate surgery. They don’t have the knowledge base to appropriately treat patients, especially for shoulder surgery recovery. I felt much better after finally realizing this and began to improve instantly with a different PT.

I've only had one visit and yet there have been so many problems with the front desk. They never pick up the phone! They made me a full schedule without consulting me and when I called and emailed multiple times to change it, I was given no response. At my first appointment, I was told I have to call to change my appointments based on cancellations. I'm trying to call right now for an appointment tomorrow (I've called twice in an hour) and I've been sent to voicemail. If you expect someone to put aside two hours for therapy, then you should work with their schedule. If I can't even come in during a time that works for me, then I won't be able to even come to therapy. This is a ridiculous way to handle your front desk.

When i first contacted them they were very nice and set me for an evaluation immediately, the therapist were great and gave me good attention. After you do your evaluation is almost impossible to get an appointment for the therapies, in three weeks i have been able to get only two sessions when i should be getting two each week so if you need constant treatment i very much not recommend going to them.

I received PT for my shoulder and sternomastoid muscle. Thankfully, I was assigned to Erin Borda as my Physical Therapist. She evaluated frequently, questioned me thoroughly, and progressed me through exercises perfectly. As a nurse, I'm quite critical of my healthcare and Erin was an exceptional PT. In addition to her clinical expertise she was extremely personable, thoughtful, and a joy to talk to. I came in hoping to avoid more injections and decrease the pain. When sessions ended, I left with no pain and able to participate again in my activities.I highly recommend Erin Borda as your Physical Therapist.

First of all Kavisha and Nicole were amazing. Highly recommend them as trainers. The facility was warm and welcoming from day one. The staff know their stuff and after a bad shoulder injury, they got me back in the gym in 4 weeks!

I do not write reviews because there is no shortage of reviews on the web but I felt compelled to write this one about Jackson Clinics, Physical Therapy. I have been a patient at Jackson 3 times over the past year and a half and had great experiences every time both in terms of the level of car and back office. After those experiences, it’s clear Jackson has very high standards for its physical therapists in terms of their knowledge and ability but also the right dose of compassion. Jackson utilizes an internet platform to provide videos of home exercises, which is a great tool to help patients maintain the proper form when doing the exercises at home, something that is critical to a good recovery. Annie was my physical therapist all 3 times and to put it simply, she was flat out great. She, and it seems most of the other physical therapists at Jackson, have their PhD and that’s reflected in the level of knowledge and care. My first time at Jackson was from a serious broken leg that required 3 screws to piece together after a cycling accident and Annie didn’t just provide physical therapy but it was a collaborative effort with me. This isn’t just a career for her, it’s clearly a calling.

Annie Martucci is my therapist at the Jackson Clinic. She has helped me twice in the 2021-22 time frame. She is an awesome therapist. She is kind, knowledgable, and encouraging. In the past few years I have had several therapists and she is the best I have everhad. I highly recommend Annie and the Jackson Clinic.

Severed patellar tendon 2019. Came in and met with Annie. She asked insightful questions pertaining to my needs as a federal law enforcement officer and my love for powerlifting. She provided a detailed plan that catered to my lifestyle while also catering to healing my knee correctly. Got me back to work in a full capacity with better knowledge on maintaining my knee health while preventing new injuries.

Our world was turned upside down when our daughter at the age of 13 tore her ACL during a soccer game. We knew that physical therapy is key to her recovery and after evaluating many options we choose Erin Borda with The Jackson Clinics, Shirlington location to be our daughter's Physical Therapist. Erin is truly amazing! Erin's medical expertise, professionalism and client centered approach to therapy turned a painful injury into a positive experience! Our daughter saw her approximately twice a week pre surgery and post operation and was instrumental to helping our daughter recovery both physically and mentally throughout each step of the process. We valued Erin's expertise so much, that before we allowed our daughter to do anything post surgery (ie go up/down stairs, walk on the beach, go swimming, wear cleats again, etc) we would always check with Erin first to ensure the activity was safe and she always promptly answered any and all questions we had. Erin went above and beyond to help our daughter return to her pre injury health. She included soccer drills in the sessions and proactively reached out to us with updates. Our daughter developed a strong bond with Erin and never complained about going to her PT sessions (which is extremely impressive and a reflection on how great Erin is) and was actually sad when she found out she didn't need to go to PT anymore! She is now in great health and cleared to returned to play competitive travel soccer again and enjoy the game she loves so much!

I absolutely LOVE the Jackson Clinics in Shirlington! They have an amazing staff of professionally skilled, devoted, caring, and kind people. I looked forward to going to every session as they guided me to make a complete recovery and motivated me to continue with exercise. They have my sincere gratitude because I couldn’t have done it without them.

I've had my (hopefully) last session with the Jackson Clinic. I worked with Liz Signorelli (my Physical Therapist) and Taylor (the trainer) and I have made remarkable progress. I'd been seeing them for almost a year with what started as bursitis on both hips and then what is probably a torn rotator cuff. I could barely walk when I first started with them and when my shoulder was injured I couldn't lift my arm above shoulder height. What was so good about working with Liz was that she was familiar with my condition (hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome). She focused not only on making sure that my hips were recovering but made sure to teach me to walk properly and work on making me notice when I was hyperextending my knees. I'd had five ankle surgeries in the past and was unable to walk a straight line but now I'm able to do so confidently. Liz focused on making isolating and strengthening the muscles around the affected joints were so I could go enjoy the activities that were important to me. It took a lot of hard work to isolate and fire individual muscles but it works! I can't recommend Liz enough. Taylor is also great. Tough but fair.

TL;DR version: The best PT clinic/DPT team out there for one’s own recovery, but much of it depends on the patient’s discipline and efforts in repeating the movements/exercises learned during each appointment to ensure maximum benefits. I was treated by the Erin/Tess/Rachel team, and well received by the Mary/Pam/Jasmine team at the front office. HIGHLY recommend The Jackson Clinics (Shirlington)!!!~Long version: As a patient receiving PT, I learned that one’s treatment plan is either successful/failure not only based on the PT clinic/DPT team, but equally based on personal discipline and efforts to repeat the movements outside of the appointment. I have undergone multiple orthopedic surgeries for different areas of my body, and The Jackson Clinics (Shirlington) has very dedicated staff to ensure one’s successful recovery. They truly equip you to regain/improve your physical capabilities and strength. There's definitely homework involved, and there are times where I knew I've not diligently completed my homework. “Off” days/weeks and plateaus are expected and the staff works with you with that. We're all different!During each session, you work 1-on-1 with your PT, do cardio (bike), and then work with your AT. At first, I did not like this cycle, but then I realized this treatment cycle greatly benefits you as the patient to learn how to do your part of the treatment very well, and helps get the blood pumping for the muscles being worked. There were some sessions where I left exhausted and with some pain, but others where I left feeling energized, esp the following day.I worked with both Erin, Tess, and Rachel, and they are all VERY knowledgeable and complement each other very well with the necessary treatment and/or exercises. I did NOT ever feel like I needed to waste my time catching the other DPT up on the progress. They knew - When I asked questions, Erin, Rachel, and Tess truly give their time to answer. I loved the way they ensured the correct muscle(s) is/are activated when teaching a new movement. For the OP who wrote a negative review about Tess, I absolutely do not understand where they are coming from. Each PT is dedicated to their patient during their scheduled time, while fervently drafting notes on their respective patient's status. Tess is a deep thinker and digests all the information a patient provides. From there, she provides OUTSTANDING solutions to mitigate/improve her patient's situation. FULL dedication at best.I was initially concerned by the cycling turnover of DPTs, but it seems to have stabilized, which I am thankful for.Mary, Pam, and Jasmine are WONDERFUL. I completely agree with another OP where they truly care for their patients and work closely while waitlisted and would always remember to contact you if there was an opening.

I’m compelled to write a review because I randomly saw a negative review for Tess and Rachel at the Shirlington office and feel the need to balance that review with my experience. I’ve been going to the Jackson Clinic for six weeks now after shoulder surgery and I’m not sure why the guy from that 1 star review disliked them so much. Tess has been handling my progress, doing the assisted stretches, tracking progress and answering my many questions each time I’ve been there. She is far from aloof and just hanging out on her laptop. She only uses her computer to take notes during our sessions, and comes across as engaged in the process and a genuinely kind person, who clearly cares how I’m doing. Rachel runs the exercises for the room and is also very good at her job. She’s not a “warm and fuzzy” person, and from what I gather I suspect she’d be fine not being viewed that way. She’s direct and clear, it’s not hard to talk to her. We’ve chitchatted about music and wineries, and I’ve noticed her chatting with others. She’s good at explaining all the exercises, follows up to make sure I’m doing well, and answers all my questions. I can’t speak to the other physical therapists there, but no one is standing around, each of them is clearly moving their clients through their therapy and exercises. I don’t know what the other reviewer was looking for in a physical therapy office, but this one more than meets my needs and I’m glad I chose it for my PT. One thing I will agree with the other reviewer on is the front desk. Mary is as good an office manager in charge of keeping the train on the tracks as I’ve met. She’s over the top nice, doesn’t rush me off the phone, and is genuinely looking to accommodate my needs, or schedule. If you’re looking to get your broken parts fixed and not for new best friends, this place will serve you well.

The team at The Jackson Clinics on Shirlington Road was incredible. Kristen Silsby did great work on my shoulder. She said she would get me back to 90-100 percent in four to six weeks and I walked out as good as new in that time frame. Likewise, Taylor was great at helping me strengthen the shoulder after Kristen worked on it each session. I would 100 percent recommend Kristen, Taylor and Andrew.
