Selection is good, have shopped there for years....won't be going back ever again despite living a stone's throw away. Recently went in with my wife to purchase several hundred dollars worth of Caymus for a party. Got to the register, and was asked to present ID. No problem - I'm 30 but I happily obliged. My wife did not have her wallet on her. The cashier informed me they could not sell me the wine unless she also presented ID. Yes, I'm 30, and my wife is 20? Or alternatively, I am buying $60+ per bottle Caymus for underaged drinkers? Which one is it Total Wine? Insane lack of common sense. I'm sure this review will receive the same trite response from the manager of the store about total wine's byzantine policy. Figures...not like there is a reddit post with 56,000 upvotes criticizing a similar (but far more absurd) instance than the one we endured.

It’s Total Wine! It’s great. Unfortunately because of VA’s blue laws it can’t carry liquor but other than that 10/10.

This Total Wine store has a lot of great wines, but the "wine experts" have been so-so. However, recently, we had a "wine expert" named Eva who was super helpful and friendly. It changed our perception of the store from a mediocre location to 5-star. I hope they give her a chance to coach other wine experts in the store.

I went there looking for a particular wine. When I got there, I wondered aimlessly looking for someone to help. I finally went to the mobile order desk where someone was packing something but did stop to assist me. Once I wanted to check out, no register had someone at it so I went to the guy behind the customer service desk. I politely asked where I could check out and he RUDELY snapped that I needed to go to the one that was lit up. I informed him I asked because no one was there. There was a kind lady that was sweeping turned out to be the cashier and she ended up checking me out. I’ll stick with the Annandale location, where they are always kind and staff are eager to help customers find wines. Especially because of that rude guy I’ll never return to this location.

The staff was not friendly no one asked if they could assist me or welcome us when we came in the store. The selection of wine and other items were well stocked.
