I have been a client at XBA since 2021 and have taken about 4 classes a week every week since then. It is a kind, positive, and friendly place for everyone, where you will feel supported on your fitness journey no matter what you look like or what your goals are. XBA clients are a diverse group of mostly women (and some men) ranging from 20ish to 70+. XBA really has something for everyone.
First - the workouts. From classic barre classes (which include strengthening/toning, flexibility, and cardio elements), to trampoline fitness classes (which include low-impact but intense cardio with weights and toning mixed in), to bootcamp-style HIIT, pilates-inspired toning, and TRX, there's a class for everyone. The classes are challenging no matter how fit you are, but can be adapted for any fitness level. I was totally out of shape, could barely walk for ten minutes recovering from surgery when I started at XBA. I think I've been so consistent because I am never bored; there's a huge variety of classes, and the classes themselves move fast, change up the movements, and keep me entertained. It's amazing how far I've come and now in my 40s I'm the fittest I've ever been.
I also want to mention that I am disabled and have had nothing but good experiences at XBA, and I have taken classes with all the instructors. Not all of these instructors are specially trained in adapting exercises, but they are all accommodating and welcoming. It can be scary as a disabled person to try new gyms and studios, and while XBA doesn't directly market itself this way, I find it to be very disability friendly and would recommend it. No one at XBA has ever made me feel like a burden or an annoyance, which is unfortunately a very common experience for disabled people in the fitness world.
You can definitely come just to work out - you'll be warmly welcomed, sweat your booty off, and you can head right out and forget about XBA until your next workout. But XBA is also a community where you can make close friends who live in the neighborhood and share interests beyond fitness. XBA regulars see each other nearly every day and form strong friendships that extend beyond the studio. It's hard to make friends as an adult and I met most of my closest friends in the area at XBA. If you like working out and you're looking to make new friends, XBA is a great place for you.

After taking 2000 classes at Xtend Barre Arlington, it’s about time I write a formal review of my home away from home. I joined XBA in Jan 2017 looking to switch up my workout routine and while I still get a lot out of the classes (currently still sore from a class 2 days ago), I’ve stayed for the community. As someone who works from home full time, I love being able to start my day with a motivating group of people who make getting out of bed worth it. XBA has been there for me in the highest highs and lowest lows and I’m so grateful I continue to show up (almost) every day. Here’s to the next 2000 classes 💪🏻

I’ve been coming to XBA for about a year and a half and I LOVE it! All the instructors and front desk staff are so sweet and friendly, and there is truly a sense of support and community that’s not found at most gyms. All the challenges and activities and celebrations are so motivating and fun.

I very rarely leave google reviews but in this case I felt like I needed to.
I attended a barre class a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I’ve been trying out a few different studios however never in my life have I received a handwritten personalized letter in the mail from one of them. I think the people/coaches at any studio you go to are just as important as the actual class. When I opened up my mailbox and saw that letter it made me feel a sense of community and seen as an individual.
10/10!

2 months ago, I decided to search for ways to be more active by targeting workouts that were enjoyable to me. When I came across Xtend Barre Arlington, I knew my search was over given the endless class options they offer. Moreover, the studio is clean, organized, and every staff member makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. It’s a very personalized experience to walk in at the end of a busy day and be called by your first name—that’s what makes XBA more than just a studio. I acquired the Elite membership soon after my 2-week trial expired, and now I need to upgrade to VIX due to how many classes I’ve been taking. It truly is the best part of my day, and it is liberating to actually look forward to working out.

I wanted to like this studio, but overall, it just wasn’t a great fit for me. The classes were okay, but not as strong or engaging as ones I’ve taken at other barre studios. I also didn’t feel the instructors offered enough modifications.
What really left a negative impression was the class pack policy. I purchased a 10-class pack that expired in just four months, with no flexibility or extensions. When I reached out, the owner explained that they don’t offer extensions because they want to motivate clients to come regularly. I understand the intention, but I’m paying for access to classes—not motivation. Life can be unpredictable, especially as a new parent, and the lack of flexibility felt more discouraging than supportive.
Overall, the experience didn’t feel very inclusive or client-centered.

I have been to many sports clubs and boutique studios everywhere I have lived in the last 20 years, but this studio is outstanding. I have never seen this deeply dedicated and passionate studio owner who supports the community with love. Her staff, the receptionists and instructors are also very warm, loving to create a safe and cozy atmosphere. I have taken several classes, sweat + P30, Extend Barre, stick fusion with different instructors, Shawna, Tonya, Dana Emily and the owner Kelly, all classes were nicely challenging and I have felt so good afterward. It is a Gem in Arlington!

I have been going to Xtend Barre for a year now and love the community they have built and the variety of classes beyond traditional barre. Everyone has been warm and welcoming since Day 1. The way Kelly and her team treats their clients not only in studio/classes but through email is truly best in class. A friend raved about Xtend barre years ago and I completely know what she means now - wish I would have listened to her sooner!

I started at Xtend Barre with the New Years Special, and immediately fell in love. From my first day, everyone in the studio was so warm and welcoming . They even celebrated my birthday on my second class! I love the variety of class formats offered. I've only been at the studio for a month and a half, and I already signed for the unlimited membership because I can't imaging my life without!

While I have only visited the studio via Classpass, I have always been welcomed so warmly. The workouts are excellent - variety, challenging, clean and inviting space, instructors correcting form, etc. I took a workout this year on my birthday and they celebrated me with the sweetest gestures and multiple shoutouts. This studio truly feels like a community and I tend to be the student that runs in and out. It has made me rethink other commitments to more corporate studios I am a part of, that offer good workouts but you feel like just a number. Way to go Xtend Barre, such a gem in this neighborhood and I will most definitely be back!

I had never done barre classes before so I didn’t know what to expect. I have to say that Xtend Barre in Courthouse is one of the best workout classes I’ve ever done! The classes are a perfect combination of fun and intense so that you don’t feel like you’re torturing yourself for an hour, despite that, EVERYTHING HURTS after! Also, the people are amazing, it’s a great community to be a part of and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a supportive fitness community and a intense burn in their workouts!
