My family member seen Dr. Pugh complaining of back and neck pain and spasms. This was so severe that she couldn’t move her neck at times. He didn’t do any physical exam and recommended that she discontinue her depression medication. She asked for something for the pain and or a muscle relaxer and was denied. Her symptoms worsened and she was advised by another medical professional to request imaging. Her request was denied. She was told that he didn’t see a need for X-rays and that the other medical professional was not qualified to recommend imaging. She sought medical attention from another Doctor who examined her and could actually feel the spasms and sent her for imaging. The images revealed that the muscles in her neck and lower back were indeed inflamed which were causing her spine to curve inwards. She was started on steroids and muscle relaxers. She will need a MRI and possibly injections to settle things down. Moral of the story is every patient isn’t crazy, seeking meds or hypochondriacs. No one knows their body better than you do so if you aren’t being taken seriously tell Doctors like Dr. Pugh to kick rocks. There are millions of caring Doctors who really want to help people and not just get a paycheck. You have to be your own advocate.

Made an appointment over a month ago to be seen. Receive a text about two hours before I need to go that they cancel my appointment. Very unacceptable always shortstaffed.

Shame I’ll be transferring pharmacies as it’s so convenient to have one so close. Every time I pick up a prescription, the woman behind the counter says something weird like asking if my mom is my “assistant in training” or just places the pill bottle on the counter so everyone can see my business. Every time I walk out, I’m confused because the experience is so bizarre.

The dentist was able to get me in on short notice although previous appointments had been canceled due to no error of my own. They were able to rectify this problem and give me the relief of knowing they could fix my tooth and get me an appointment in very short order. I'm happy with them again(service had been perfect up to that point), and all of the other services blue ridge provides are very professional and friendly, the same as they are.

I love Blue Ridge medical center, the staff and doctors are very courteous and professional and have always taken care of me. I gave 3 stars though because of the dentist office. I made an appointment 9 months in advance only to have it canceled, a new appointment was made for a week sooner, but then that one got canceled as well and the soonest they could see me would be 8 months from now in February. I will continue to visit Blue Ridge Medical center but I recommend finding a different place to get a dentist appointment.

For all of you that have had good success, and good relationships with your doctors at blue ridge,I am happy for you, and wish you the best into the future. However,do not ever get on the bad side of a doctor at blue ridge, because they and the entire establishment will cause great difficulties in your life. One of the many things they did, was when I needed major surgery at a oral surgeons, they played games, and did not release my medical records to the oral surgeon in a timely manner. As a result my surgery date had to be postponed, and it delayed my original surgery date by 3 weeks. That is pretty serious when you are a individual who is suffering from severe gum disease to the point of bone loss in your jaw.Just saying as a warning ...do not get on there bad side. They will also lie and fabricate drug tests, just so they have a excuse not to write you a prescription...instead of being a mature adult and coming right out and telling you ....we do not want to write a particular drug.I hope this review is helpful to some,or at least serves as a warning.

I want to preface this by saying we've liked the doctor alot whenever we have a checkup. Our problem stems from months and months of having issues getting my son's prescription submitted in a timely manner from his doctor. My husband has to make a call every single month and the pharmacy tells him that they never received the paperwork to have it filled. He calls the main number and they hardly ever return his calls. Luckily its not a medically necessary prescription, but it is still completely unprofessional.

Idiots with stethoscopes. I moved to the area and needed a provider. My first visit was for a sore "trigger finger". Simple stuff. Generally in good health. I've been married 33 years, and they wanted an std test, blood. I agreed. Next, they wanted an observed urine sample to check for drug use, I did not agree. Next they wanted me to sign a contract, generally holding them blameless and allowing them to perform testing without my agreement or acknowledgement. They insisted the drug test was a federal requirement. (They either lied or are severely ignorant of federal requirements.) My attitude is that if these folks have to go to such lengths as lying about federal requirements, any hope of future honest relations is nonexistent, their professionalism is suspect. During the follow up, second visit, they still insisted on the drug test, even after being informed of the federal regulation they supposedly were following (and misinterpreting.) They refused to treat, I left. Congratulations for being in violation of two federal regulations! My opinion is to avoid these these folks like the plague. Follow up: Good intentions mired in bad execution. The facility provides care on a sliding cost scale, so, I paid premium prices (high income) for the same treatment afforded to homeless drug addicts. Problem is, high income folks do not like to be treated like homeless drug addicts and are familiar with most laws and regulations. By driving away higher income patients, the place becomes little more than the community free clinic, where one is treated by a nurse no better educated than the local high school nurse, and the occasional MD. Their attempts to treat people equally denigrates a population that pays the taxes to keep them in business. MY opinion, , judge for yourself!

Saved my life! Heather is an absolute beast at what she does for her career! Nena is one of the best nurses life could give! Great place overall for your health care and mental health needs.
