Just posting it here so that everyone knows. Do not send your kids to Sanders corner elementary school. Racism towards Indians is very high. I experienced racism from 8-10 years old. Group of three. Don’t want to pin point for privacy but please think twice before living in that specific area. HOA cannot do anything. I will revoke this review on request. But be cautious

Ashburn Farms Association is the HOA for anonymous small town that once had character but now just another bland suburban housing development filled with chain stores & shopping centers. Like all Karen’s & Kevin’s giving even the most reputable HOA’s a bad name, this HOA demonstrates profound self-entitlement currently impairing their ability to exercise appropriate judgement in decision making. Actual community issues take a back burner to the power flex’s from petty-betty’s prioritising appearance and arbitrarily enforce their rules. Residents expect the HOA to have a B.F. disproportionately dramatic for even minor infractions. Grievance Letters sent to residents with the HOA’s deviation/violation complaints typically default to allegations, demands for compliance, and ultimatums with time-deadline or threats of fining owners. Petty-Betty’s in this HOA focus on arbitrarily threatening fines for visible trash bins, going so far as to send time/date stamped photos to owners/residents with the audacity to put a bin on the curb 2-minutes before the HOA approved time-window. More reputable HOA’s respond to most other minor temporary or formality infractions (like those involving positive exterior alterations or otherwise unnoticeable or easily overlooked by other residents without access to the HOA approval/denial records for exterior alterations requests) with a professionally neutral to cheerful rule-reminder letter containing an application for HOA approval attached, but the current Ashburn Farms Association consistently defaults to excessive unprofessional posturing. Most recent demonstration of HOA mismanagement took aim at demanding removal of home security systems visible from the homes exterior that did not conform to the HOA regulations. Squarely focusing on creating a superficial outward appearance of affluent neighborhood paying for private security services, this “pick-me girl” desperation has and continues to make the neighborhood community a very attractive “easy mark” for vandals, thieves, and worse criminal activity. Law enforcement & happenstance are the sole deterrents of criminal activity with doing little else to assist the responding officers with catching criminals. This poor judgement unnecessarily result in: (1) sleezy realtors more interested in their own financial gains; (2) over valued property; (3) inflated insurance rates for residents; (4) reducing the curb appeal to savvy buyers; and (5) impeding property value growth. Within the last year alone, overnight incidents involving vandalism of multiple vehicles windshields getting smashed in and a separate incident of thieves looting over 20 vehicles parked along the road in 2 different sections of the development but (not) coincidentally excluded the housing sections with clearly visible exteriors security cameras & vehicles with built in security camera systems actively triggered by lifting door handles & impact sensors. Current regulation enforcement only supports reactive responses to these types of incidents prevent residents from adapting to the changes within the neighborhood and proactively protecting property and the communities overall value.
The tyrannical mismanagement of this community with arbitrary regulation enforcement exemplifies the gross weaponised incompetence of those operating day to day activities and a negligent board of directors. I originally rented in this neighborhood to then purchase a home in a preferred neighborhood. I had hopped to purchase here but this HOA is difficult for the sake of it & has ensured any appeal of this neighborhood has completely evaporated. Saving your money or actually flush it down the drain would be a better investment option than buying any crumbling residence in this community under the current HOA staff & board. Only upside to living here is many of the neighbour's not actively involved with the HOA are friendly.

Farmwell Hunt, you coukd probably get some pointers on what a valuable HOA does (versus being dreadful). Can't wait for Summer. Today was a harbinger so adding photos.

We were there for a memorial service at their community center. Everyone was warm and inviting, and the community was absolutely beautiful.

Very rude, unfriendly, not helpful at all. The association is self serving and only works/helps their own employees. They have no checks or balances in the association. Best thing you can do to get things done is to be friends with someone who works there. Everyone else is not getting through/getting any help.Good Luck!

There is a reason this HOA is constantly voted the worst HOA in Northern Virginia by local realtors year, after year.
