I had the worst nail experience of my life at this salon. 2 hours for a standard manicure and pedicure and I had to go home and remove the polish. Very disappointed.

Roughed the nail bed during a manicure, meaning it will take months to grow out the damage, despite the fact I requested that step be skipped. Very rough and painful use of an orange stick to push back the cuticles, likely meaning more nail damage and a deep cut to the skin at the edge of thumbnail from use of cuticle clippers (hello -- cuticle clipper are for cuticles). Additionally, the nail tech kept using his own nail to clean up his mistakes, even running it underneath my own nails. Couldn't wait to leave and pour alcohol over my hands. This is why Virginia needs laws that allow only licensed technicians from accredited cosmetology schools to work in these salons. Licensing in this state is a joke.

RUN away from this horrid excuse of a nail salon. I have been getting my nails done for over 12 years and have NEVER had a tech so incompetent and rude. I showed the picture i wanted versus the absolute nightmare of a job I got. I paid $120 for this absolute nightmare of a manicure. Pedicure was nice, the nail tech for the manicure was an absolute mess. This place needs to be shut down. -100/10 if I could rate that low.

Excellent in: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, Value I've been going to InStyle Nail Spa in Leesburg, VA for about 5 years. The shop is always very clean. During the 2020 quarantine, they ensured employee and client safety and comfort by installing face and separation shields at the mani and pedi stations. All of the employees wear face masks. Check out their Instagram account, their nail designs are gorgeous! I also take my daughter there for special Mommy and me days!

DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED! Only decided to go there because of their "nice" nail design pictures on Instagram! I decided to do an ombre nail and when i called for an appointment, I specifically asked for someone that is very good with shaping and ombré and they said don't worry just show a picture! Well, i went there, the front desk gentleman was nice but he said I can't do a ombre refill, which was ok i decided to do a gel polish instead. The nail tech came which was another guy, extremely rude! Did not say Hi, and whatever i tell him to do about shape/color/length he goes " No" you need a full set! Like i am just asking you to shorten my nail and shape it! and shakes his head! I have never seen such a thing in a business! I chose a color and asked him to bring it, he says "no we don't have that color" Are you serious? I was so close to just leave! He brought the color at the end. Just to mention, the lady nail tech that was sitting next to him was extremely rude and unprofessional as well, she passed me and drop the whole nail colors that was on my desk on the floor without saying anything! I was literally in shock! Terrible experience

First off I'd like to say that Jackie is the only employee I would recommend going to. She is great and this review should not reflect her work. That being said, I was there a few days ago getting a pedicure. I asked for a pedicure and the technician did a deluxe pedicure without asking me and charged me for it. It was a decent pedicure, but I felt ripped off and taken advantage of. Then, one of my toe nails got infected. This kind of thing should not happen if they are using proper cleaning techniques. I am very disappointed in the lack of cleanliness that led to this situation.

i've never written a negative review before but i'm super upset abt the quality of nails given the amount of money that i spent. i called ahead of time to see if they could take me as a walk-in and all seemed well at first. i showed them my inspiration photo and it seemed like they were confident that they could do it. as the time went on, i realized that wasn't the case. to preface, i have worked in a nail salon before and i'm currently training to be a nail tech so i know right from wrong when it comes to nails. the older man who did my nails rushed through the prep on my natural nail and barely cleaned my cuticles up. the "design" that he did looks nothing like the picture; i even had to ask him to put more sparkles because it looked bad. the pointer and middle w the sparkles are bumpy as if the top coat he put on didn't do anything. the pointer finger on my right hand is SO incredibly crooked, which i know is not because of my natural nail bc i haven't ever had this problem before. the pointer on my other finger popped right off. i have had these nails for 9 days and this is the amount of outgrown they are, it's horrible. i will never be coming back here, and for $95 i deserve better.

I never go out of my way to write negative reviews, but my experience here was so infuriating that I had to. Before making an appt I reached out to the salon with a reference photo and asked them if they could replicate the nails. I was told that they could and so I went ahead with the appointment. When I sat in the chair the nail tech took one glance at the photo and never looked at it again which would've been fine had he given me what I was asking for but the nails I ended up with vaguely resembled the reference picture at best. In addition to them not being the design that I had asked for the nails were all wildly different lengths and shapes. I got this set done a little over a day ago and 3 nails are already lifting, one has completely popped off and the acrylic on the thumb nail is splitting from the tip that was put on. On top of this being the possibly the worst quality set of nails I have ever gotten, they are also the most expensive at $90. For that much money I would expect them to last most than a day and a half!

I was given a $100 gift card for Instyle Nails by one of my close friends, I gave it to my daughter to use and when she presented it she was told it was only a rewards card and not a gift card. My friend is having to dispute the charge with her bank in order to get her money back and we obviously had to present a different form of payment. Very disappointing and not good business practice.

For a post mother's day gift my daughter wanted to take me for a spa pedi and mani w/designs on my nails. She made the appt in advance. When we arrived the staff was not pleasant, rushed us to a seat, did not give me a chance to pick out a color even for my toes, she could not answer questions about whether they could do the type of nail design I wanted (in fact, the answer was no, which we found out later). I actually had to walk with wet feet to get to the polish to choose one for my toes. When I was trying to pick out a color for my hands, the lady came and took the gel samples right from my hand. I told her I wasn't done and she took it anyway! I was disgusted. I opted only for the pedi, only because my feet were already in the tub, AND I knew it was already going to hurt my daughter's feelings because she was trying to do something nice for me. Plus she thinks it's rude to insist on good customer service. LOL. So I politely said "I think I'll just get the pedi today". I had to say it many times because they were persistent and I was about to yell at them so I finally said "You are all really stressing me out, and I need you to stop please. I'm ONLY getting the pedicure." The massage was HORRIBLE... he barely touched my legs/feet. The polish job is fine, but nothing about that experience was good. And much to my SHOCK my daughter also opted out of the mani. She had the opposite experience for her pedi. That tech was super rough with her legs and she said it hurt. So nope. We won't be back. Seriously, when my daughter complains that is really horrible. She never complains about service lacking. Ever.

Pros: The service at Instyle Nail Leesburg is great. The workers are super friendly and engage with customers. It's very neat and social distancing is definitely in full affect. Cons: I wanted to get marble nail design on two fingers. I was told it was possible, and towards the end, I was told it would not look like the picture I showed them. I was very confused because I messaged them on Instagram, and they said the can do the exact nail design for me. The nails were not the length I wanted so I hoping the design will turn out good with the short nails. I was wrong. The gold polish they used got on my sleeves, and didn't look good. I eventually ended up changing the nail design to diamond. It was alright. Overall, I wasn't satisfied with my service. I believe the pictures they post on Instagram are inspired photos, so I felt deceived. If you're looking for basic full set then I recommend this place but not for modern/trendy nail designs.
