About Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park
Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park is a 45-mile paved trail between Shirlington and Purcellville. Often called the skinniest park in Virginia, it runs along a former railroad roadbed through urban areas and into the countryside. The trail is very well maintained with a nice smooth surface and is relatively flat, though it offers some challenging hills. It is a great trail for running, cycling, or skating. The park provides many different and extremely beautiful views, especially during sunrise and sunset. Users can see hawks, owls, and plenty of deer. There are multiple parking areas to jump on and off, along with many businesses and amenities just at the trail, including places for hydrating like breweries. Picnic areas and public porta potties are available along the route. A 32-mile gravel horse trail parallels the asphalt. Care is needed at street crossings, which can be minimally marked. The trail is described as very safe and quiet.
Bike and walk all the time. BEWARE of frogs at night! You don’t want to squish them. But it depends where and what part of the trail you are on.

This is a great trail but I searched where i can park my car and it gave me 21293 Smith Switch Road Ashburn, VA. I was hesitant to park here for the gear of having my car towed. Does anyone know if we can park here while we use the trail?

Honestly i love going there since it is a 45 mile Trail, it is extremely beautiful during sunrise and sunset
