Horrible company. Haven’t been in the house a year and the porch is falling apart already. No one even set our keys. We literally had to watch a YouTube video to set the keys so we could open our door to our home. Everything is poor quality but yet the house is almost $300,000. As a first time home buyer, I was definitely hoping for a better experience. Would never ever recommend this place. Floor keeps coming up and the under pinning around the house has all kinds of open spaces. No one ever gets back to you in a timely manner. I haven’t heard from anyone in months. Stay clear of this so called business and look else where!!

Clayton Homes – The Worst Investment I’ve Ever Made
Buying a home from Clayton Homes has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. The poor craftsmanship, ongoing issues, and complete lack of support make this home feel like it was thrown together with paper clips and duct tape.
Major Issues I’ve Dealt With:
•Poor Construction: The drywall seams constantly pop, the trim falls off, and even the entire door frame to my master bedroom shifts.
•Leaking & HVAC Issues: The hood vent over the stove leaks, and I’ve already had HVAC problems after just 3 years.
•Roof Defects: My shingles keep blowing off, and entire sections have curled back—yet when I was brushed off to my home warranty or insurance, they tried to blame it on “storms” instead of faulty installation (again it’s only 3 years old).
•Poor Yard Grading: Extremely lumpy yard, water pools and drains horribly due to the sloppy grading job.
•Zero Accountability: Even when I was within the one-year manufacturer warranty period, Clayton Homes made every problem seem like my fault. I had to push back hard just to get them to take action.
The Worst Customer Experience on the Biggest Purchase of My Life:
For something as expensive as a home, you expect quality and support—but Clayton Homes offers neither. Every call for help turns into a battle and getting shuffled around. Now I live with constant anxiety wondering what will break next.
I rented a Clayton home for three years with no major issues, but the quality of their new homes has clearly plummeted. If you’re thinking about buying from Clayton Homes, save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

Allow me to give a big thank you to Mr.Buck and Mr.Jesse from Clayton Homes (Roanoke) for coming out of their way an doing an amazing job. Some people come out to these new homes and do the bare minimum, but not these two gentlemen. They got here when they said they would, then they went throughout the whole entire house and fixed everything that was listed and not listed. Thank you guys for a amazing job. Let's start off with a beautiful home on the lot, with great guys who come out to set house up. Once the home is set up, communication starts to fade into the distance. My home is not level, and had many construction issues inside. Doors not fitting properly, shower wall not level, kitchen cabinets falling from ceiling, counter tops not level. Mutiple water leaks under home around the two bathrooms. I personally would never purchase another home from Clayton Period, it will not matter what town they are from. I heard bad experience stories from all locations.

Purchased a home from Clayton in 2017. Love the home, but do have some unresolved issues. Namely: customer service....or lack thereof! Had, and still have, a problem with the shower drain in the master bath. I doesn't drain!!!! Clayton's service tech came and looked at it at least 3-4 times, with no solution. When my warranty ran out, they basically said "screw you, you're on your own". I have had 2 plumbers come and look at it and can't figure out the problem, short of replacing the entire drain system. One plumber said that whoever installed the drain had no idea what they were doing. My advice....run from Clayton's as fast and as far as you can!!!! These guys do NOT have your back!!!!! Once your warranty runs out, they drop you like a hot potato. Please Clayton, prove me wrong and come fix my damn drain! Lol, like that's gonna happen!!!!

My wife and I love our beautiful new home. The entire team at Clayton Homes in Bedford communicated very well throughout the entire process of building our home. Any issues that have come up have been dealt with promptly and professionally. Clayton Homes of Bedford and the entire team as well as their contractors has been an exceptional company to do business with. We have the first home that has been equipped with the new, "Energy Saver Smarthome" package and we could not be more pleased with the energy efficiency of the home. Also, it is very well-insulated and quiet. Our first utility bill was decreased by almost $100.00, and our last home was smaller. You will not be disappointed to work with the team in Bedford.
