I rent a climate controlled unit from November 2023 to now. The staff at FSSS are excellent people. Very easy to work with. I highly recommend this storage facility to anyone looking for a trustworthy secure rental space.

I've used this storage facility multiple times, and it consistently exceeds expectations. The units are impeccably clean, secure, and well-maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to assist, making the entire process seamless. Their climate-controlled units ensure that my belongings are protected year-round, and the flexible rental options cater perfectly to both short-term and long-term needs. It's evident that customer satisfaction is a top priority here. I wouldn't trust my storage needs to anyone else in the NRV! 10 OUT OF 10!

Very transparent staff from rental to move out! Our climate controlled unit stayed in good shape, they were quick to call with any concerns/lock issues.
Autopay was convenient and the facility felt very safe/secure.

I highly recommend First Security! The staff is great, the facility is very clean and secure, and the location and 24-hour, drive-up access are very convenient. There is also plenty of room between the units for easy loading and unloading. Their rates are very comparable to other Blacksburg storage companies for a nicer facility. Overall, I had great experience and I would definitely rent space from First Security again in the future! Thank you Michael, Michelle, and Matthew!

EXCELLENT experience! Very friendly staff members. They were full but put me on a waiting list. PROMPTLY called me as soon as something opened up. Clean, nice units. SAFE!!! Gated entry with access code, then your own lock on the unit door. Bathroom available 24 /7, which was helpful since we were unloading / arranging our items for a long time. Office is right on premises. Thank you 1st Security!!! Highly recommended.

We just moved our VT son's things out after storing them for a semester. We were always treated extremely courteously when we called to make payments or had questions of any kind. Everything was in great shape, with no musty smell or insects.

By far the best storage facility I have used in the Blacksburg area. Great customer service, they got me set up with a unit that was absolutely perfect for what I needed on short notice. The facility itself was very clean, with plenty of storage options all with very easy (drive up) access. My unit was in great condition and my belongings felt very safe here. The best part for me, however, was the 24 hour access as I needed to move things at night on multiple occasions! Overall I had a great experience here. Thanks First Security!

I had a great experience with First Security Self Storage. The staff was very helpful and friendly, showed me around multiple units and helped me determine what would be best for my stuff. They didn’t waste any time, but also took great care in explaining everything I needed to know about the lease. Plenty of space to drive my car right up to the entrance of my unit, plus 24 hour access and on-site bathroom for the long moving sessions. Rates are very comparable to others in the area for what I think is a nicer and newer facility. Would lease from there again.

I have used this facility for the last 3+ years to store a variety of items for my two kids who were attending VA Tech undergrad. Over the years we shifted to 3 different units based on our needs (5'x10' --> 10'x10' --> 5'x10'). The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean, organized, secure, and easily accessible.
