Great location and view of the mountains, very minimal noise, fast responding maintenance, nice pool and gym ?

I'm giving this place 2 stars because we at least never had any issues with loud and disruptive neighbors on weekday nights. I can say if you are a working adult looking to rent a place that isn't noisy like most of the other undergrad housing in the area, this is a great place. This is most likely due to the apartments' distance from campus. You won't be able to walk anywhere when you live here but you also most likely won't have to deal with parties being thrown at 1 am on a Wednesday.
Unfortunately, the management here leaves much to be desired. Because we were taking over a lease rather than signing one, management decided it would be a good idea to just not clean the apartment before we moved in. The entire place smelled like curry, there was mold and mildew in the shower, and all the knobs on the kitchen cabinets were falling off. Management never addressed the issue and it was up to us to try and make the space livable. Even when we were moving out, we found marks on the walls from various couches and dressers that have moved around over the years that simply won't come off. It seems like many units just have so many layers of filth on the walls from years of neglectful tenants that it almost isn't worth trying to fix it. You just manage.
Another time, we were driving back from vacation and realized we didn't have our house key on us. We called management to see if someone could simply unlock the door for us since we had another set of keys inside. It was Sunday and since they were closed and outsource their management on Sunday, the person we spoke with said this wasn't possible and said that we couldn't put in a maintenance request to unlock the door either. Every locksmith in the surrounding area was closed and we had to rent a hotel for the night, spending over $100 on what should have been a easily solvable issue. So yeah, I guess you're fine losing your key any day of the week except Sunday in which case you're screwed.
My final gripe with this place is that they would much rather nickel and dime their poor college tenants instead of focusing on good customer service. The typical college apartment stuff like charging 9 dollars to turn off your water at the end of your lease or taking 50 dollars out of your security deposit because you forgot to speckle over one pushpin sized drywall hole. You will have ended your lease and moved out only to get a notification that you still have 3 water bills and 2 trash bills to pay despite nobody living there because they are 2 months behind on their utility bills. This is probably par for the course with college apartments around Blacksburg but it's still important to know.

I have lived here for two years and the office and the maintenance have been great! Quiet neighborhood and it is right on the BT bus line to campus.

The leasing company is really great to work with for the most part, my roommates and I have had a really good experience with them. With us all being introverts, it's really nice to live in such a quiet and chill place, and the views are pretty too! Definitely would recommend. You do have to do a little more research on your own than most places as far as getting utilities and other things set up, but they have been really open and communicative with us.

My son moved out in July. I just got my July rent draft refunded (they auto drafted even though the lease term was expired). They basically kept the entire security deposit which based on the condition of the entire complex is ridiculous. It hasn't been updated since 1910. The cabinets wouldn't close. Thefloor was slanted. MICE ate the carpet and some of his furniture. They charged $225 for 'final inspection'. Blacksburg has sooo many other complexes now that are updated and that have responsive staff (they have never returned a single vc mail I left). Spend a little more for better.

Just helped my grad student move in. We love this place! The grounds feel like a park! So relaxing and serene.
People must realize this is an older complex, not a brand new building, so of course baseboards and walls may not be perfect, paint on closet shelves etc may a bit chipped etc. But let's not forget to mention the large rooms, the ample closets and storage, the many kitchen cabinets etc. combine that with the gorgeous landscaping and you have a beautiful place to call home
We had a small issue with dishwasher leaking/backing up on move-in. It was thoroughly fixed the same day reported. The maintenance technicians were all super friendly. It's really telling to hear many have worked there a VERY long time
I highly recommend visiting the community and seeing for yourself.

This place is a huge disappointment. We just moved in this weekend and the place does not look as advertised. They claim the apartment is renovated but everything from the wall to the cabinets look at least 30 years old. There are cracks on the wall (paint chip everywhere), the bathroom is moldy (with an additional unwanted scent of musty odor), and all the hinges are super rusty (adding another layer of topping of stuffy scent to the mix). What’s the worst on top of all that is the apartment HAVE not been cleaned before we moved in !! We brought this up to the management company - they denied the fact and said it was previously cleaned in May and because the apartment have been left vacant for 2 months thus the lack of hygiene present. I did bring up my concerns to which the conclusion I received was to handle all the cleaning myself. Since moving in, I have been constantly cleaning the unit. As I am here to warn future renters, I am still cleaning (holding a broom and swifter ready for war).Furthermore, WOW. I didn’t know bathtub can grow hair itself just from being left vacant. See the pic for yourself - there’s no way the room can be so dirty just from being left vacant. I’ve lived in three apartments before, and none of them is like this. Having a professional cleaning company come before the next tenant move in is literally the most basic thing a leasing company should do. These photos speak louder than words.I hope my words have reached you and helped you to shine a light on my living experience.

Husband and I just moved out recently due to academic reasons, but very much enjoyed our two-year stay at Windsor Hills. Staff is friendly, area is well kept, and the amenities (pool, hammocks, picnic area, management hosted events) are a cherry on top.

The complex is on the quiet side of town. I have a great view of the valley from my balcony, which I love. It would be nice if there were a way to get some folks to slow down when driving through. Also, I think it's time for an outside window cleaning.

There are no lights provided in bedrooms except a bare bulb in the closet and none provided in living room, dryer didnt work properly, toilet didnt flush properly. Room was overpriced and utility cost was ridiculous even when we kept the heat at 67 or less in the winter. Some staff are helpful but some didnt seem to know what they were doing.

I love living here! The office staff is friendly. They respond quickly to emails and all were very helpful answering my questions when I took over a tenants lease. The apts hold holiday/ fun activity events with free food and games and the nice maintenance team is 24hrs. Other than the sub par cellular service, it is a great place to live!!
