118 E Broad St“Cute little antique store situated on Main St., Blackstone, VA. A pet project of owner Susan, The store's namesake is a special miniature pig she used to know. While strolling down Main Street, window shoppers are sure to be charmed by the beautifully decorated and welcoming entrance. Step inside and you will find everything from antique dishes, books, furniture, turntables and an interesting selection of 45s. There's plenty of art as well as handwoven rugs and crafts. At the time of this review there is an amazing handmade dollhouse of a rugged cabin complete with all the to scale furnishings a tiny dweller would need. Whether you're looking for something practical or one-of-a-kind, you're very likely to find it at The Black Pig.”
“The store is HUGE and packed full of good stuff. Check out the dragon section. Like all of these places they ask premium prices, but they are incredibly friendly and willing to negotiate. I may go back for an Ansonia clock...Well worth the visit.”
“If you're in Blackstone, and love the thrill of the hunt, Picker's Place is for you! The folks are friendly as all get out, welcoming and full of interesting stories and knowledgeable about their items! It's not a huge place, so it's easy to browse and find some cool things... I found a bunch of vintage postcards, and attached to their business is another shop where I got a unique teapot. The stores are connected, but you pay at separate registers. There's a nice selection of antiques, thrift items, toys, jewelry, glassware, furniture, knick knacks and home décor. I would definitely pop in to see what other gems I can find next time I'm in the neighborhood! The prices are pretty darn good too!!”
