No public wifi. Only one working restroom on this date, which results in a line. Food and wine was okay for the area. The view is the selling point.

The view is beautiful...that is all this place has left. It used to be a relaxing, fun place with amazing food. Now it's nothing but work to be there. They want to be a self-serve establishment? Fine. But if I'm buying 4-5 food items can you give me a tray so I don't have to make 10 trips back and forth to the shack you use for ordering? Also, it's a place people drink alcohol...have bigger water glasses. They have these tiny plastic cups (likely less than 8oz) you have to refill again and again. Then come the bees. It's an outdoor location, I get it. But when we just went in Nov they were swarming. We couldn't sit down for more than 5 mins before we'd get attacked. There's no way to mitigate that situation for the restaurant without harming the broader bee population?
If you want an exciting day of lugging your own food and water to your table multiple times, food that tastes like it sat out in the sun for awhile before they gave it to you, to be dehydrated and hot, and to be constantly swatting away bees, then Bluemont is for you. For everyone else, there are 100s of other places with good views and wine in VA.

Not impressed by Bluemont other than the view. They have no outside food or drink rule and then their food is basically flatbreads or some charcuterie option. Very little variety and lack variety for people with dietary restrictions.
My friend and I reserved a patio spot since it was the weekend and wanted to enjoy the views, but this immediately sidetracked as the line for 951 (ordering station) took forever just to place an order. We ordered a flatbread (side of hot honey) and a bake brie (with jam on top). When we did get our food and brought it back to the table the next thing we know we’re swarmed by bees who gravitated towards the jam on the Brie and hot honey on the pizza…
The swarm of bees was so bad that other patrons nearby were making remark on this swarm. Initially my friend went to talk someone at 951 about the situation and they told her it’s a working farm and it happens and couldn’t do anything about it. I found this inexcusable and went back and spoke with a manager regarding the problem…
I told him the situation and asked him either to remove the items from our tab or to replace it with something else. He reiterated it was a working farm and he’s been handling the bees all day with patrons… walked over table to remove the food and was like “oh wow, you got a whole a hive here” ?
While he did remove the purchased items from our table, the fact the general statement was “it’s a working farm and we have been dealing with bees all season on the patio” … well maybe l mention this while having people eat outside on the patio because what would happen if someone is allergic to bees? Hmmmm?
This annoyance ruined a lot of the ambiance we were looking for by the visit. While we had the wine flights, nothing was memorable.

Gorgeous vineyard with lots of scenic seating areas. Best cheese plate ever! Also, best Albarino wine in Virginia!

Visited on October 24, 2024. Had been to a half dozen wineries in the region prior to our visit to Bluemont. The bees here were a problem. They do not have lids for the trash cans so that adds to the problem. No other wineries that we visited had a bee problem. Maybe my palate was off but the wines were subpar an they only had one flight option. On the plus side views are amazing and the carmel apple pie was very good.

The vineyard was beautiful with many outdoor and indoor seating options. I tried the Merlot with the red pepper hummus pairing - both were delicious!
The service by the staff at the 951 (food ordering station) was poor and I regret paying a tip upfront. They forgot my coffee order and when asked for sugar they said that they don’t know where they kept their sugar. How ridiculous!
The food itself was delicious and I would have rated 5 ⭐️s if the service was good too.

So impressed… we made a reservation on the deck. It was absolutely beautiful panoramic views of the vineyard. We enjoyed a flight, the gourmet charcuterie pretzel, a basket of delicious pastries, and a fabulous cheesecake. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! We’ll definitely be back for brunch!

Great views, but too many people on this beautiful fall day. Will come back on a quieter weekday.

Always love visiting Bluemont. The staff is friendly, the view is fantastic, and the wine keeps getting better every year.
Also love the special events they've been hosting recently, particularly the full moon tastings! Gracie has been killing it at those.

Not a great experience at this winery. Ordered food came out pretty mediocre plastic containers and no presentation. Placed two boxed containers and boxed cakes with card. Came back 10 mins later to cake trashed and only card kept. Behind the counter. Place from the beginning felt unorganized and hectic! Not a great experience.
