Worst mistake I've ever made in my life. got a car through Eastman on a 5 year loan. had 1 year left and they repossessed my vehicle due to non payment. here's the kicker ... it WAS paid ... however, they applied my payment to SOMEONE ELSE'S account! We have the receipt to prove it! however when we have brought this to their attention they get defensive and rude and have yet to address the situation. probably because they have already auctioned our vehicle. Eastman will literally ruin your life and take no responsibility for their failures as a reliable bank. I have never experienced such poor service from any bank I've ever dealt with. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. You might know someone that's has a good experience with Eastman but when the time comes and they make a mistake, YOU will be the one that pays for it.

Eastman Credit Union is god awful. Their customer service is hands down the absolute worst I have ever seen. They are rude, passive aggressive and have no interest in helping customers. They have applied car payments to someone else’s account several times and then repossessed our vehicle claiming we hadn’t made our payments. We have receipts showing where they put the payment on the wrong account. Yes, we have brought this to their attention several times and they dismiss it. Probably because they have already sold our vehicle at auction, which was almost paid off.I wouldn’t recommend this dump for any reason. Unless of course you want your money stolen, vehicle stolen, lied to constantly and rude, ignorant customer service agents. There are countless customer testimonials that describe the same scenario we have dealt with. There is no wonder they have such a low rating.Lowest rating of any bank or credit union in the entire state of tn/va combined.Disgusting, deplorable behavior and a cancer on our town.

I can’t wait to leave for USAA. I was inaccurately told information about loan insurance by a loan specialist and when I called to make a claim they said my loan insurance didn’t cover cancer surgery since i wasn’t hospitalized for over 48 hours. I would have been fine with that if I was told 2 different things.

I love my bank. They are awesome. I always have a good experience going in if needed. Especially drive thru.

I would advise ANYONE considering ECU, to think again. There is a reason they have such a low rating. Eastman claims to offer better interest rates than most other banks, but it’s all a facade. While you may get better interest on your auto loan, they do this for one reason and one reason only … to wait until your loan is almost paid in full so they can repossess your vehicle. Not only that, but they have claimed we missed a payment before and sent our car for repossession, once we were notified and provided proof of our payment, they called us back 1 minute to close to inform us that they had “fixed the issue” and it was a mistake on their end. They have repossessed our car over $200 and some change. Never mind the fact they had already accepted a partial payment. We just paid over $700 in August that they claim they never got even though it’s clearly posted on the account.A woman named Sandra, that’s supposedly in charge of the repossession is incredibly rude, unprofessional and clearly gets off on ruining people’s lives. Her behavior makes it crystal clear that Eastman thrives on repossessions and fees. They have no desire to improve customer satisfaction. ECU is a blight on families and people struggling to make ends meet.I guess after Covid they decided they needed ti make up for all of the repossessions they missed out on.The only notice we received was that the payment of $200 and some change was late. That was about a week ago. Today, they come take the car and have no desire to figure the situation out. I guess Sandra earns commission for stealing people’s cars. Probably the one who tried to make the last payment that went missing disappear. So now that they have stolen the full value of the car and thousands in interest, they stole our car so they can turn around, sell it and collect more money. This is hands down the WORST bank I have ever used. This place is obviously ran by money hungry crooks and do nothing but potentiate poverty in our communities. So if your life is perfect, you never get COVID, or sick at all, never have a death in the family or any of the trials and tribulations of life, ECU might be for you. However, if you’re a biological human being then I would run for the hills because ECU wouldn’t know what customer service was if it hit them square in the face. And as for “Sandra” whose job it is to steal from people and profit off of taking advantage of lower income families in our region … must be a bitter, pathetic shell of a human being to send repo over $200. Sounds like she has a personal vendetta and less of an “asset recovery” kind of attitude. Can’t really call it “asset recovery” anyways … unless of course ECU is in such bad shape that $200 is breaking them. But as I said, it’s clearly because the car is almost paid off and ECU isn’t ready to end their financial reign of terror.SUMMARY: DO NOT use ECU for any financial services unless you are looking for terrible customer service, theft, snotty women named Sandra who get hot and bothered by stealing people’s blood, sweat and tears, random claims of missed payments and the only remedy is providing evidence you dropped your payment off (their tune changes real quick then) and a bank that takes advantage of the already poverty stricken region that we live in.We will be contacting an attorney over this, especially since the payments are 100% paid in full yet they still have our car. But I wanted to warn any unsuspecting victims before you make the same mistake we did.

Burry your money in your yard before you give it away to Eastman. Highly don’t recommend.

I hate that I’m having to leave this type of review because prior to 2021, I always had a wonderful experience at all of the Eastman branches. Sadly, the exit 7 branch has gone downhill. I stopped by there on 6/10/2023 at approximately 1pm and my mom sent me with a deposit slip with her name, address, account number, and the amount of cash being deposited and I also offered to give the teller her SSN if needed. The teller handed me the deposit slip back and the receipt documenting the transaction. As soon as I sat down in my car, I scanned over the receipt just to make sure everything was correct and I noticed the name and account number was completely different - the teller deposited the money in the wrong persons account. I immediately went back inside and the same teller waited on me and I informed her that the money was deposited in someone else’s account despite the fact that I provided a deposit slip with all of my mom’s information. The teller was extremely rude and stated “the name and account numbers were similar.” Which does NOT matter because I provided a deposit slip which clearly wasn’t used because it was given back to me. Secondly, does “Michelle” and “Cheyanne” sound similar to you? The teller number is: 84229712, I unfortunately could not see her name tag because it was so far over on her chest. I am not satisfied with this interaction and feel it deserves a review.

Gotta love when you make over $15/hr, have over a 700 credit score and have no missed payments in 5 years but God forbid they give you a loan under $5k. Pathetic

What good is a phone number if it automatically hangs up after about 15 seconds when you ask to speak to a representative? I have one of the representative's numbers too but she won't answer either.

Been with ECU since the first of the year and everything has been great. Love their systems, apps, and employees. Got approved for an auto loan and everything took less than 30 minutes. No hassle. Can’t ask for anything more

Since I have started doing business with financial institutions, I have found greater joy doing business with credit unions than banks. When I moved to Bristol in 2015, I found Eastman. Why in the world would one go anywhere else? Superior job, ECU.

Jay is the rudest person I have ever dealt with at ECU & I’ve been a member for 25 years. Definitely needs some training in customer service or find another job!
