Not a bad grocery store. Do wish the DC area had Publix.
New Post. 12/27/2024
Came in to exchange a Propane Tank for my daughter. Pleasantly greeted by a very helpful Customer Service Associate, Brad. What a keeper this Safeway has with an Associate like Brad. BRAD took care of me in minutes. I got the exchange done with my Propane Tank without any effort. Now my Daughter has a full Propane Tank to Grill for herself and our two Grandsons.
Wish Brad would come to a Publix in our Neighborhood down South. Thanks Again,

I shopped here today because it was convenient but it was a disappointment. Employees say , “ I don t know” more than hello or thank you. At check out I had a price concern and the cashier couldn’t get anyone to help him , rang up my items and simply said, “ No no one is available… here s your receipt . “. I went to the customer service desk and no one was working it. The store was completely out of an item and didn’t have anyone available to check the stock room . Back to Giant!!!

Okay, so... I'm in D.C. for work and I have been going to this Safeway location like every day... Well, I might have to stop going now because I'm disgusted... I have seen some of the male employees use the bathroom with their aprons still on... One had on all white, a white apron, and the plastic food prep gloves on as he went to the urinal, went pee, then left out the restroom without washing his hands... Then today I saw this guy that works at the Starbucks stand inside of the store go into the restroom with his apron on and pee at the urinal... As a guy myself, there is ALWAYS gonna be splashback when you pee... Whether it's in a standard toilet or a urinal... At NO TIME should anyone have an apron on while using the bathroom, then just go straight back to food areas... Like... WHAT?!?!

Shopped here today. I don't want to start a stampede, sooo I had a few questions on my receipt. Brad B. very politely helped me out with my questions/concerns, as well as another young gentleman getting to work at customer service. They both were professional and appreciated their time and effort. Store clean, stocked, and most of all very professional including the cashier (Awab). This Safeway is not close to my home, yet I prefer it!

Conveniently located and clean but priced significantly above average. You can find coupons periodically to bring prices closer to normal but you'll never find a good deal here.

Only come here if you're ok with moldy products. I have been constantly finding expired products on the shelves. I found mold growing in some flowers today. Beyond disgusted. Staff behavior ranges from apathetic to rude.

Safeway in Burke Centre Parkway offers a clean and inviting shopping environment. This store excels in providing a wide variety of fresh produce and high-quality meats. The bakery section offers an impressive selection of breads and pastries, freshly made in-store. Staff members are friendly and helpful, ready to assist and answer questions. The pharmacy services are efficient and convenient. Overall, this Safeway is well-maintained and consistently provides good customer service.

I USED to use this stores' delivery service. After months of getting poor produce and never receiving and order without 5 or more substitute items an incident with a delivery driver was enough for me to never want to use their service again. Once I had to return one of their substitute items bc it was completely useless for what I was making and the person helping me actually said "you know you can click no substitutes to avoid this?" I said, "you know when your out of stock in the store, you can update your website to avoid this?" Safeway uses door dash. The dasher showed up at my house with only one bag out of a $122 order. I asked where's the rest of my order? Dasher said this is all they gave me. I called the Safeway Burke store and the guy at customer service said the dasher did not take the whole order. I looked at the dasher and said you have to go back and get the rest if my order. He told me he could not do that bc it was Safeways fault for not giving him the whole order. I said, you think you only had to pick up one bag for a almost $8 tip? So I have two incompetent men, one from safeway on the phone telling me it's the dashers fault, and the dasher standing only lawn telling me its Safeways fault. I said to both "I don't care who's fault it is, someone needs to deliver my food." My husband is in a foot cast and I'm trying to get my kids in bed. Safeway said since it was mid evening they could not send anyone else for the night and they could refund my whole order to which I said NO. I don't have time this week to do this all over again. I had to drive to safeway to pick up my own delivery order. I called the customer service number and they refunded me the driver tip. Then two hours later I am standing outside my house and who drives by my home..... The doordash driver. So now I have a pissed, probably deactivated ex doordasher coming after me bc of this. I called the police to tell them I think I am being harassed by a door dasher. They said they would send a car to patrol my neighborhood. What a mess. I will NEVER use Safeway again, I am switching to Giant. They don't use doordash! Safeway, train your employees on how to solve problems. They're terrible at it. You want to make this right, you can refund my freshpass subscription that doesn't expire til December.

This location is redefining obnoxious advertisements and announcements over the loud speakers that are constantly cutting off the ambient music. I work in stores and this is definitely one of the worst offenders around. Speakers are too loud

Don't shop here on Thursday evenings. They start removing all the still active sales tags 5 hours before close so you will have no idea what is on sale.
Observed multiple employees ripping off tags of still active sales at 7:30 pm all throughout the store. That's crazy that this is how they operate this place.
Editing this review because I caught Giant pulling the same scam yesterday.
