This is a pretty decent pharmacy. As usual I got my flu shot, as you get a discount on groceries. If you play your cards right, you can do okay despite Safeways prices being rather high. Have used this pharmacy for my son, and am relatively pleased by the kind staff. It's a guess but they are having staffing issues, along with a high volume of prescriptions. Turnaround time is mostly excellent, but there are some times. The lines definitely show it can be busy. My recommendation is weekday mid morning. Then again we don't get to choose when to be sick, or have a condition that needs a prescription medication. I've been happy here. If you're in the area this works. Also those who use Good RX can find competitive pricing here. That alone is a victory sometimes.

I stopped shopping here several years ago and tonight reminds me why. The prices don't match the weekly ad and the only check out is self checkout. Self check out is great for small purchases but a handful when you need $200 worth of groceries.

Best pharmacy in NoVA. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Having to take medication for anything is awful and is scar. It's so nice to be able to feel like you're in good hands and are being treated like family rather than just a customer. These guys are outstanding!

Unacceptable customer service. I had an appointment for a Covid and Shingles shot at 10:00. They had only one person working both the pharmacy and clinic. After waiting in the clinic for 15 minutes, I went to the pharmacy to ask if someone was working the clinic. I was told we're having computer problems, I'm busy and will get to you as soon as I can. I waited 10 more minutes and finally left. At this point, two more people had arrived to work, but the clinic technician was still working the computer issue regardless that multiple people with appointments were waiting for shots. She could have handed off the computer issue and given her customers the service they deserve. I waited 25 minutes before I left, if I'd stayed who knows how much longer I would have had to wait before getting my shots. The problem was not a computer issue, but a customer service and manning issue. This pharmacy has lost my business ...

Should not have to wait over an hour for a scheduled appointment. If you don’t have the staff, don’t schedule the appointment.

There is one guy who works at the pharmacy who consistently never has prescriptions ready. When David is working prescriptions are never ready on time. There is no other issue with any other pharmacists.

Very professional pharmacy staff, always on top of my prescriptions. Very knowledgeable, always able to answer my questions. They impress me even more that they are able fill prescriptions while they are answering phones, giving vaccines, and it's my understanding that they will soon be able to prescribe certain medications all without an increase in staff. My hat is off to them, I could not do their job. Highly recommend!!

Don’t send your prescription here. They are very slow at their job. I have a medicine that needs to be taken daily, and I made the mistake of sending it to this pharmacy. They told me it will be ready in 1 day. I waited 2 days, then I called them to check on the status of my prescription. Which then they said the “order didn’t come in” and I have to send it to another Safeway pharmacy or wait a few more days. Due to the nature of my medication, waiting is not an option. And the staff failed to communicate effectively with me on the urgent status of my prescription. Never sending a refill here again.

My mom usually gets her prescription filled here but the customer service is always so poor. The only reason she constantly comes back is because of the convenience of location. Other than that, everyone in there is unprofessional and doesn’t feel like they want to assist anybody. As if they are only there because it’s for the money.

I'm not sure why this business doesn't have a higher star rating. I have always been very happy with this pharmacy. The staff is very friendly, competent and knowledgeable. They even recognize me which is a nice personal touch. I have switched many of my Walgreens prescriptions here, as there are smaller or even no lines to wait on. And bonus - most of the time - I go grocery shopping while I wait for my medication. I completely recommend this pharmacy.

We're lined up down the aisles. Maybe open more registers? Other than this, great grocery store.

I WANT TO GIVE SAFEWAY A BETTER RATING BECAUSE THEY ARE MY NEIGHBORHOOD SUPERMARKET. 1. By and large, I have ordinary dealings at Safeway and have found some personnel there work hard and are friendly enough. 2. But, I went to the Deli today and a guy who has served me well was there but I got an newbie to help me. It was so bad that instead of ordering 3 lbs of could cuts, I only ordered 1 lb and got out as quickly as I could to cut my losses. 3. I don't mind that Safeway seems to employ handicapped individuals but as I another customer agreed, we have our limits no matter how liberal we like to think we are. 4. First, This guy didn't couldn't find the roll to cut. He had to ask the other guy. Then, he couldn't open it and went to the back sink with the roll to open it and that made me suspicious so I asked the other clerk "what's going on?" When he came back, the clerk I had just asked told him, there is another sink right there near the slicers. I still don't know what that was all about. 5. Then came the slicing. He seemed to have a hard time. It wouldn't slide into the machine but sputtered across the blade. So, he turned to the other guy, who took one look and said, "You have to turn the machine on!" (poker-faced!). What had I gotten myself into?! 6. Then, I asked to divide the bag into 2 half pound halves. So, he took 1/4 and threw it into another bag. Hmm. Not enough. So, he takes 1-2 slices and throws them into the bag -- still not enough. And another slice -- still not enough. OMG! OMG!!! "OK!! Good enough!!!", I said. ( I didn't really want him manhandling every slice !! Their cold cuts go bad within a week and that's why I asked to divide them up so I can freeze half. ) So, ended up with 2/3 lb and 1/3 lb bags. Not what I wanted but I just wanted it to end!! 7. Finally, he couldn't find the type cold cut number to put into the machine and had to ask. It was posted right in front of his face. So, once I got the label on the bigger bag, I was handed two still opened bags, one unlabeled. What a disaster!!! I will walk away when I see this guy next time. I couldn't stand it. Why can't Safeway remove him if he doesn't cut the mustard!!! (or the cold cuts!) Because, it's almost Thanksgiving I will give Safeway 2 stars, when I actually mean to give only 1. I suppose I'm paying it forward, ever hopeful ... . I will pray for Safeway tonight -- and for its customers. Your welcome.
