This location advertises open till 6pm, but appears to be part of Brambleton Imports and was closed when I arrived at 5:15pm on a Thursday. I would recommend going to the main location if you have the expectation that will be opened during business hours. Maybe it’s appointment only, but isn’t advertised that way on Google.

You have to give at least one star but if I could I would them a negative score. My fiance and I were planning a vacation to see my family for the first time in over a year. I filled out the reservation online and paid. Mind you my fiance and I don't have a car right now. She had a friend drop her off at the Avis rent a car place to pick up the car. Well...... when my fiance went to pick up the car, they had to run a credit check and charge a $100 fee. I can't for the life of me understand why this wasn't mentioned and why it would even need to be done in the first place. If we paid the reservation, what does credit have to do with it? So she finds this out and now because of something we were not told, she has to walk home. She has to walk all 10 miles home. I spoke with Carli (not sure on spelling) on the phone and she mentioned that the $100 credit check is in the fine print. I outright said to her "Oh, you mean the fine print that no one ever reads?" She actually responded by saying that was correct.... horrible way to do business. Planning on taking Avis to court. I also have an audition in Northern Virginia for a paid theatrical role I will now be missing out on.

The car provided on Municipal Rd. was dirty/seats stained. The Jetta (34K miles) had a complete engine failure on the highway in Delaware en route to a pre-graduation dinner in Baltimore. The tow truck was sent from NJ, taking well more that 75 min and took me backwards 32 mi tp the wrong Avis office in PA. Four+ hrs later, I passed the place of the breakdown. Upon return, the rep politely admitted the car was not mechanically checked prior to rental. The office does not receive complaints, so further time is wasted waiting on hold and online. Missed an occasion receiving pro-forma responses. They no longer try harder.

Forced me to get insurance I didn't need! Car was on half tank of fuel. Attendant was 30 minutes late. Horrible rental experience. Worst ever!

I traveled from NY to VA and my car broke down in New Castle. I had to leave it at a mechanic for a few days. I called every car rental And was told I could not get a car because I didn't have a major credit card. Avis assured me over the phone I could get a car with only my debit card. So I called a cab and paid $100 to travel the 40 mins to Roanoke to rent a car. When I got there I learned that I needed a credit check in order to use a debit card. The clerk and the manager both were unphased that I was stranded there and could not care less that I was lied to over the phone and spent so much money to get there. All they could say was an unempathetic "that's just our policy".

Rented a car. Pretty good pricing. I didn't drive it, but I paid with my card so I had to pay extra for gf to be the driver even though everything was in her name. Saved on insurance though.

Avis has the best discounts for seniors hands down, I recently rented a car that wasn't comfortable enough for me, the Avis representative gave me an upgrade at no additional cost. Our vacation was a success largely because of their kindness and understanding.

Three days into a two week trip and 5 calls to Avis customer service, I stopped at the Avis Brambleton Ave. location for assistance with an XM radio problem. I regret that I did not note the name of the young lady who helped me. She resolved my problem in minutes....Thank you so much.

We run on a tight budget as do most. So after pre paying for our rental when we go to pick it up, they ask for an extra 100 that we cant afford. So I look around at Enterprise and find one cheaper to keep me on budget. No refunds from avis. No alternative solutions...poor comunication for a business that size. So now we have a rental but not enough money for our trip. Thanks for nothing Avis. Never Again!!! I work in a restaurant near the airport so others will know of this. Congrats. I took the liberty of throwing it on a dyno before returning it to run the miles off i would've used.
