We had the opportunity to have my son Noah’s second birthday party here at cub, run recreational center this past Saturday. We had checked it out a couple months ago, and he absolutely loved it!Leading up to the party, we were helped every step of the way! Makiya is so amazing at her job and did a fantastic job communicating with us and giving us all the information we needed. All of her staff are so amazing as well! On the day of the birthday party it went so well! All the kids had so much fun, swimming and playing in the indoor waterpark, and the adults had fun too, with the huge waterslides and hot tubs.Once we made it to the birthday party room, we continued the fun and had mellow mushroom pizza per recommendation as well as cake, and a great time celebrating. We would certainly recommend this for any birthday parties, especially if indoors needed, and would love to come back for another birthday party in the future!

Went to a birthday party and swim here. Pool was well maintained and nice. Even in middle of winter it was warm. The party room was fine. Bluetooth allowed us to play music for the kids. Overall a good birthday experience

I’m not coming to this place ever again, their service is not professional at all. I have to wait more than an hour to get in while I was on the top of the waiting list. I was checking with them frequently if the line is moving or not because their pool was full, and I was standing in front of them .When I went back to see the list everyone underneath my line have checked in.While they allow people in with out the wrist bandI’m very disappointed with this experience. If there was a zero to show how disappointed I’m I would.

Spacious club center. Great place for families to spend time together. The pools are big and have a lot of fun stuff. Well equipped and clean gym. There are kids clubs during school breaks. The clubs (Science Seeds) we attended were great and well planned. The staff was great and friendly too. There are only three vending machines, no food sold here.

While the facility itself is impressive, the approach to hosting birthday parties at Cub Run Rec Center raises concerns. The cost structure is notably steep, starting at $167 for first 12 people to the pool and charge additional at the rate of $7.65 per child/adults $10.80 each (county) and $11.5 per child/adult $13.05 (non-county).With 15 children and 15 adults, the expenses easily surpass $300. The minimal amenities provided include only 5 tables and 20 chairs, and if your party exceeds 20 people, standing for the entire hour for additional people becomes the norm.Communication issues with the staff further compound the experience, with important clauses not conveyed adequately. Surprisingly, a $50 penalty is imposed for a mere 5-minute delay in adhering to the allotted one-hour room time, leaving a sense of sketchiness. An alternative and more favorable option is to consider reserving birthday parties at Loudoun County's Rec centers, particularly Claude Moore or Dulles. These venues offer three hours of party room and swimming time, inclusive of 6 large pizzas, utensils, party supplies, and juice for 15 kids. Choosing these alternatives not only ensures a hassle-free experience but also results in cost savings. In conclusion, it is advisable to steer clear of Cub Run Rec Center for hosting children's birthday parties. Opting for Claude Moore or Dulles Rec Centers promises a smoother and more enjoyable celebration, with the added benefit of saving money.

Just needs some seats on both sides of the pool. Would make the life guards job a tad easier (more eyes) and help the parents a lot.

This center always gives you hard time, I bought some goggles for my daughter and the young man told me that I could return them if they didn't have any left, unfortunately they were a little big for her, I wanted to return it after I couldn't return them, the other time I arrived 30 minutes before their class and they didn't let me in because I had to be 5 minutes before the class started. The customer service is terrible in that center. I have gone to other centers and I have never had this type of problem.

Good place for kids. The only 1 minus - water is not warm. At least for my baby. You can not take your own inflatable items. You should use their owns items.

We've been going to Cub Run for a couple of years for swim lessons and playing in the pool. The pool is fun for kids, and the lessons have been pretty good. I agree with other reviewers that the cleanliness in the bathrooms could be better. We've had mixed experiences with staff. They're not always in a good mood. I just steer clear. For those with elementary kids, be aware that they have to be 48" to get the wristband for the water slides. The staff are inconsistent about this, so we've had times where both of our kids got the big wristband, and then other times where one or both will be told they're not tall enough. The employees absolutely will not budge on this, so we've left with kids in tears more than once. How are we supposed to explain to them that they used to be tall enough for the water slides but this time they're not? Overall, though, I'd say our weekend pool visits have been fun, and it's a good deal compared to other activities we could be doing. What really made me want to write a review after using Cub Run for so long was my ridiculous experience trying to book a birthday party room. There's no way to book online, so you just put in the date you want and send it to them. After that, things get silly. A woman responded fairly promptly offering me a time on the date I requested. (Yay!) I responded to her that I'd like to book. Then she wrote back asking if I want only the room or also pool time. I responded .... I won't bore you with every single detail, but I've now been exchanging one-line emails with this lady for close to a week. Finally, she told me that we have to schedule a time to go over the contract. (Why? I can read a contract for a 1-hour party room rental and sign it.) So I suggested a time. She wrote back that she's not available, but did not suggest an alternate time (?!!!). So I wrote back asking when we could go over the contract. We're actually going to be at Cub Run for a class this weekend, but she won't be there, and apparently no one else on staff can go over this contract with us. Instead, she offered one and only one time, which is inconvenient, but I'm going with it because I can't handle exchanging another 20 emails with this lady. All this to say, if you want to book an event at Cub Run, start early and be prepared to engage in a long and drawn-out process of pointless emails. It's almost like they don't want people to book the rooms. I don't know yet how this part will turn out, but their party rules allow for 12 guests, and then you pay extra above that. They specifically stipulate that anyone going down to the pool counts as a guest, so you can imagine how a reasonably priced party could become very expensive if they're charging you for every parent who goes down to sit on a bench and watch their kid swim or help their kid change. (We've had a similar experience when we swim on weekends. Why do they charge parents money just to supervise their children? Even if you're not swimming, you have to pay.) Anyway, one friend who hosted a party at Cub Run said it wasn't a problem and she thought her party ended up being a good price. Another friend said her party ended up being almost as expensive as Launch or one of the other play places because of all the charges they added on for parents going down to the pool. You can imagine how this could get out of hand - 1 birthday kid, 1 sibling, birthday kid's parents, 4 child guests, 4 guest parents (to supervise their young kids in the pool) and you're already at the limit. so a 12-person party really only has 4 child guests. If you then invite 5 more kids and each has a parent with them, now you're being charged for 10 guests over the limit (5 kids, 5 parents). Also considering that Cub Run parties don't include food, whereas most party places do, I'm concerned that it's not going to end up being as good a deal as it first appeared. Once we've had our party (if we ever manage

Stopped by the indoor water park for the first time, and the kids really enjoyed it. The facility has a good mix of equipment and water features for different age groups. The downside was the limited hours, and it can be pretty crowded as a result, especially on on the weekend.

Gym is fantastic and has a lot of machines for a great workout. Pool with slides and lazy River is awesome NOTE: Can get busy on weekends with tons of 4th grade birthday parties. Mid day weekends are full on birthday parties, angry moms, bored dads and tired out toddlers. Not much food choice here other than vending machines so bring your own sandwich and drink if you need to eat.

Today I visited Cub Run Rec center with my sister and our boys. Because of spring break there were a lot of swimmers so a wait list was enforced at the entry door. We were told there was about 20 min wait. Completely understandable! We waited patiently as we see swimmers exit the building, after school care groups left, etc. After 45 minutes we saw some of the people before us happily being called. We decided to ask how many more people ahead of us and one lady rudely replied "I don't know" while the lady next to her said 2 people as she looked at her list. I thanked her because she had a friendly demeanor unlike the other one. Unfortunately, the impatient lady probably got upset and the whole room cleared as she called their names and even looked at me. Once we realized everyone was called except us we decided to join the line and go in ourselves. To add fuel to the fire, we waited on top to watch our 10 year old boys while they swam below us for a bit. After 30 minutes they NEVER called our names. We didn't have to give them our names when we paid only for the wait list. She was clearly upset. But if you're going to work in customer service you need to be patient and you need to have a friendly demeanor no matter how YOUR day is going. She is a 50+ year woman; no excuse. I'm a 46 year old woman I know.

Pretty cool place for the kids. $20 for 2 adults and a 3yr old. Has a water playground, a lazy river, and a whirlpool. Also has 2 big slides but they kinda hurt, every crack on the way down is like a lash. 48 inches height required for the big slides.
